CALLER: Hi — and actually, today it is kind of beautiful. It\u2019s not raining but it\u2019s cloudy.<\/p>\n

TODD: Good.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But I just wanted to talk about Rush. I\u2019m not sure how long I listened to him but it turns out actually that we both got our cancer diagnosis notices on the same day.<\/p>\n

TODD: Humph!<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just wanted to say how much he inspired me \u2019cause he didn\u2019t give up. He didn\u2019t go into a pity party. (chokes up) He helped me be brave.<\/p>\n

TODD: Marcy, that is so good to hear. How are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m doing pretty well. The doctor had given me a “use by” date of year and a half —<\/p>\n

TODD: HA! HA! HA!<\/p>\n

CALLER: — which is in a couple months, and I\u2019m still kicking.<\/p>\n

TODD: (laughing) You know what? I love your sense of humor. Your “use by” date. Hey, Marcy, is there anything specifically for which I could pray for you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Um, just that they come up with a cure for my cancer, I suppose.<\/p>\n

TODD: Okay. Let\u2019s do that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But I\u2019m fighting it and —<\/p>\n

TODD: Yeah. Marcy —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — listened to the “use by” date —<\/p>\n

TODD: HA! HA! HA! HA!<\/p>\n

CALLER: I actually went out and found another doctor who did surgery on me and got rid of probably half my tumors and so —<\/p>\n

TODD: You took control?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

TODD: I\u2019m proud of you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (chocking up) Thank you.<\/p>\n

TODD: Yeah. Yeah, you know —<\/p>\n

CALLER: And, by the way, I listen to you every morning when you\u2019re not on Rush (choking up), and you are the best.<\/p>\n

TODD: No, Rush is the best, but I appreciate you listening.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, you\u2019re second best.<\/p>\n

TODD: (laughing) There\u2019s a lot of us behind the Maha. I\u2019m really gratified to hear the inspiration in your voice and the humor in your voice, and I will say a prayer, Marcy, for a cure-all. I\u2019ll also just say a prayer that folks will accept the inspiration you\u2019ve offered today. So thank you for that.<\/p>\n
