RUSH: All right, let me run through this 2022 thing again, because it requires a belief that nothing has fundamentally changed in American politics. It requires the belief that people didn\u2019t know what they were doing when they voted for Joe Biden and the Democrats in 2018 and 2020.<\/p>\n

“In the 2018 midterms and the 2020 presidential election, people didn\u2019t know what they were doing, and that once they see what the Democrats are gonna do — like the closing of the Keystone pipeline and some of these other things — oh, there\u2019s gonna be this massive rejection of the Democrats the next chance that people have to vote,” which would be 2022.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I hear a lot of people saying this, a lot of people indicating they believe this — people on our side, people on the Republican side, traditional political junkies. They say, “Let the Democrats do whatever they\u2019re gonna do \u2019cause they\u2019re gonna get swamped. We\u2019re gonna wipe \u2019em out in the midterms! We\u2019re gonna win the House back; we\u2019re gonna win the Senate back. It\u2019s gonna be a beautiful thing.”<\/p>\n

When these people say this to me, I say, “Do you people not get what\u2019s going on here?”<\/p>\n

The days of traditional American politics where there is an agreed-to power sharing were the Democrats agree that they\u2019re gonna lose now and then. We agree that we\u2019re gonna win now and then. We agree that when we win, they\u2019re gonna beat us the hell up and try to take power away from us, and that we\u2019re gonna help \u2019em. We agree that when they win, we\u2019re gonna acknowledge that they won and we\u2019re gonna do everything we can to make sure they don\u2019t lose in the future.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the power sharing. But sometimes, the Democrats so overstep that we end up winning anyway. If you think that we\u2019re anywhere near that, that those days of American politics survive, you have to realize that they don\u2019t any longer. The days of traditional American politics no longer exist. The Democrats, folks — and they\u2019ve been openly honest about this.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The Democrats are setting it up so they\u2019re never going to lose elections again. They are setting it up so that even if they lose elections, they win. So what do you mean we\u2019re gonna win it all back in 2022? Who thinks that that\u2019s in the cards? Again, you have to believe that people didn\u2019t know what they were doing when they voted in the 2018 midterms and they didn\u2019t know what they were doing when they voted for Democrats in the 2020 election.<\/p>\n

And there are people who believe that the only reason the Democrats won in 2020 is cheating — and maybe 2018, the midterms as well. “Rush, it\u2019s gonna be so massive. They can\u2019t win except by cheating, and they\u2019re gonna get so rejected, they\u2019re not gonna be able to cheat enough to win, Rush.” I\u2019ve been hearing people say that too.<\/p>\n

So I ask these people when they give me this 2022 theory, “Well, how did they win in 2018 and 2020?” What I get back is, “They cheated, Rush.” Now, look. I am not wandering off the reservation here. But you\u2019re making a big mistake if you think that the success the Democrats had in 2018 in the midterms and the 2020 election is simply due to cheating.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re missing something very important. There are millions of Americans who knowingly voted for this. There are millions of college students who knowingly support the abolition of the First Amendment. There are millions of young people becoming adults who openly support the cancel culture and elimination of constitutional rights for certain Americans — and they are growing in number as well as growing in age.<\/p>\n

\"\"There are millions of Americans who have bought into the Democrat agenda. This is not simply because the Democrats fraudulently stole an election. Even if they did, you gotta understand something: Biden still got enough votes to enable him to go over the line. Whatever amount of cheating there was does not equal enough to win or barely enough to win.<\/p>\n

I myself have made it abundantly clear how difficult it would be to jury-rig or game the American presidential election. If you knew the districts, if you knew the precincts, if you knew the battleground states in advance and you could dictate that, then you could do it much easier than just randomly guessing. But the thing that you have to consider and you have to remember is, even if you believe that was cheating that went on — and a lot of people do.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not trying to try to talk you out of that, don\u2019t misunderstand me. But you gotta understand: At the same time, millions and millions and millions of Americans voted for Joe Biden or they voted for somebody with a D next to his name. They didn\u2019t necessarily vote for Biden, I don\u2019t think. I think they voted against Trump. I think they voted against Republicans.<\/p>\n

I think they voted for the guy with the big D next to his name. But the point is, the idea that the American people did not know what they were doing and in two years are gonna be running to the ballot box to reverse their decision? Why wasn\u2019t what Pelosi was doing from 2019 to 2020 enough to wake \u2019em up? I mean this fraudulent, phony impeachment business?<\/p>\n

This unconstitutional impeachment these people engaged in with House managers like Eric Swalwell who\u2019s out there banging around with Fang Fang? Why wasn\u2019t who the Democrats are enough to wake people up after the 2018 midterms, and then how do you explain Georgia? Why didn\u2019t Georgia become the de facto replacement for 2022?<\/p>\n

Why didn\u2019t people in Georgia realize, “My God, we gotta step up here; we gotta prevent the Democrats from winning the Senate”?<\/p>\n

I know what some of you are saying, “Because, Rush, everybody knew they were gonna cheat. They didn\u2019t vote, and you had a bunch of Republicans telling people not to vote.” Fine. Fine. I\u2019m just telling you that no matter what, you\u2019ve gotta make excuses for why what you think is gonna happen in 2022 hasn\u2019t happened yet, despite two different opportunities for it to happen.<\/p>\n

Pelosi and the Democrats and media were doing enough mean-spirited, fraudulent, lying, cheating, anti-Trump things through 2019 and 2020 to wake people up. And, by the way, 74, 75 million people voted for Trump, maybe more. That is a hell of a lot of people as well. There\u2019s so many things, folks, that are working against the whole idea that retail politics hasn\u2019t changed.<\/p>\n

\"\"Look at the media. It\u2019s easy to complain and whine and moan about it, but the media is so predictable. They are treating — have you noticed it? They\u2019re treating the Biden administration like the second coming of Camelot. JFK has essentially been raised from the dead and is occupying the Oval Office in the White House residency. And pretty soon he\u2019s gonna have little Hunter Biden sitting on his dad\u2019s knee, under his desk in the Oval Office waving as the caisson goes by.<\/p>\n

I mean, the media is actually calling for this program and other conservative programs and Fox News to be deplatformed, like Parler has been deplatformed. CNN, you would think they\u2019d be devoted to the First Amendment. They\u2019re not. Only for themselves. So what has to change?<\/p>\n

All I\u2019m saying is don\u2019t think that 2022 is automatic because of how over the top Democrats are gonna be. You gotta realize that the Democrats are taking people with them. They are winning the minds and hearts of a certain percentage of Americans every election. We sit here and say we can\u2019t believe it. “That is unreal. It\u2019s unbelievable. People have gotta wake up.” And yet they don\u2019t. In our minds, they don\u2019t wake up.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here is Wayne, Prairie Village, Kansas. Great to have you. Glad you waited, sir. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Ah, Mr. Limbaugh, thank you for taking my call. My thoughts and players are with you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate that. Thank you very much, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Being older than you, there are certain things I\u2019m seeing in the current political climate. For example, the potential blacklisting of anybody that worked in the White House and possibly even extending to anybody that even voted for the president —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yep.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — as well as the fact that the Department of Homeland Security apparently is searching for “domestic terrorism” behind every tree and every rock. The only thing I can think of is that what I\u2019m seeing reminds me of McCarthyism, and I\u2019m afraid what we\u2019re seeing now may be the new McCarthyism.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is exactly what I\u2019m trying to say. People don\u2019t realize how the Democrats are setting it up so it doesn\u2019t matter. In 2022, we\u2019re gonna shellac \u2019em? They\u2019re setting it up for all that stuff doesn\u2019t matter anymore. They\u2019re so far ahead of us in terms of defining the kind of country this is gonna be… We\u2019re looking at it as winning in retail politics, and they\u2019re not.<\/p>\n

\"\"You know what the difference is? You know what the real difference is, Wayne? They know how to use power, and we don\u2019t. Maybe it\u2019s not that we don\u2019t. It\u2019s just that when we have government power, we don\u2019t use it. Trump did! Trump did and look what they did to him. Look what they made sure he wasn\u2019t gonna be able to do: Serve again. Republicans prior to Trump did not exercise the power they\u2019ve got to implement an agenda and grow it. They just don\u2019t. The Democrats do.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We certainly cannot take the 2022 elections for granted. We must actually do the work necessary to accomplish what we need to accomplish.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, yeah, but that\u2019s gonna be stopping these people from doing what they\u2019re trying. You had a brilliant observation. I\u2019ve been meaning to bring this up. They are blacklisting everybody that worked in the Trump administration! They are making a move on Harvard to start taking away all degrees awarded to people who worked for Trump in his administration from cabinet level on down.<\/p>\n

This would include Kayleigh McEnany, for example — and they\u2019re using Harvard students to push this. But they literally are demanding of corporate America that they not hire anybody who worked for Trump. Now, why is that? The real purpose of it is to really harm these people so as to teach everybody a lesson.<\/p>\n

“The next time that Trump or somebody like him attempts to run for the presidency, you damn well are not gonna support him! Because if you do, even if he wins, you eventually are gonna pay a steep price for it.” This is, therefore, an effort to eliminate any support for any future outsider who might seek to be elected president. That\u2019s what they\u2019re doing.<\/p>\n

That is their use of power that they have. They\u2019re not afraid of using it. They\u2019re not afraid of the backlash against it. They don\u2019t care. And it\u2019s all oriented around the fact that they are entitled to power, that we are not, that “unity” is only defined by us accepting that they are the legitimate people entitled to power. We are not.<\/p>\n

\"\"So when Mitt Romney comes along and says, “Well, we must all… In order to declare unity in this country, we must all acknowledge and state publicly that Joe Biden is a legitimate winner of the presidential election,” what is that? Well, that\u2019s Romney being what Republicans are supposed to be in this new America.<\/p>\n

You know what, folks? I\u2019ve mentioned this before and I\u2019m gonna mention it again. I think what you ought to do, given that we are in an era of COVID-19 and… Oh, speaking which, the California governor is deciding to lift the lockdown-in-your-home order. Did you know that? After all this time, Gavin Newsom is lifting the stay-at-home order in California.<\/p>\n

Now, all this time Gavin Newsom was telling everybody it\u2019s the only way not to die, the only way to stay safe, the only way to prevent yourself from getting COVID-19. He\u2019s now lifting the order, because 1.5 million people signed a recall petition against the guy.<\/p>\n

Anyway, what you need to do, you need to rent or buy, however you do it, a movie called The Lives of Others. It is a brilliant portrayal of life in the Soviet client state of the East Germany, the Democrat Republic or People\u2019s Republic or whatever the hell it was. It\u2019s scary. It\u2019s instructive. It is informative.<\/p>\n

It gives you an idea of what kind of fascism and totalitarianism we could be facing. The Lives of Others. It is a brilliant portrayal of life in East Germany during the superpower days of the Soviet Union. Erich Honecker was the grand pooh-bah, and it\u2019s a classic, classic movie. If you\u2019re not doing anything, rent it, look at it, watch it, and learn from it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I do.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. My thing is that we\u2019ve already lost the republic. We lost that a long time ago. And that\u2019s what we are. We are a republic. And we\u2019ve lost it. We\u2019re just useful idiots. They make it look great. People think we\u2019re fighting for this, but look at the schools. Look at the schools. Parents don\u2019t pay attention to what they\u2019re teaching in schools. So when these kids come home, if the parents really know what America was about —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think it\u2019s worse than that. I think they do know and they don\u2019t have the guts to do anything about it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, true. True. I believe they don\u2019t have the guts to do it. And you know what the thing is? Because we have lost our moral compass, literally our moral compass. I see it in the Catholic Church as well. You know, I want to have a good education. So when you don\u2019t live your faith, you don\u2019t live by the rules that God\u2019s given us, this is what we\u2019ve got —<\/p>\n

RUSH: So how are you getting through the day, Mary?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, Rush, I go to Mass every day and I sit before the Lord and that\u2019s my peace.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but it isn\u2019t —<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s my compass.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is a very powerful thing to say, we\u2019ve lost the republic. You\u2019re essentially saying that we have lost the foundation of who and what we are as a nation. We\u2019ve lost it. Not that we\u2019re losing it. You think we\u2019ve lost it. It\u2019s over<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yes. Think about it, Rush. We have our true freedom, if you think about what true freedom really is, it takes responsibility. It takes some guts to speak up. It has consequences. I mean, I\u2019ll just go with abortion. It\u2019s birth control for people. They don\u2019t take the responsibility of bringing a child into the world because they don\u2019t even look at what that child could do for them or maybe somebody else that would take that child. They just see that I don\u2019t want to take this consequence, I don\u2019t want to take the responsibility.<\/p>\n

\"\"You see parents bail their kids out all the time. You don\u2019t see kids even cutting lawns anymore. They have lawn services. Kids don\u2019t have any responsibility. And when they get into college, you have 1960s liberal nut jobs teaching your kids, and parents, are they questioning any of it like you said? They probably don\u2019t care. And here we are right now, they don\u2019t even understand — and if you think about —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, okay, okay, look, is there a solution to this or not?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Is there a solution? I think we need to return to God. We need to fight back, absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. Well, as long as you think that there is a solution to it, then fine. The problem I have is people that are fatalistic and think there\u2019s nothing we can do about it, then that\u2019s no good, either. But I appreciate the call. I understand the sentiment. CALLER: Hello, Mr. Limbaugh. How you doing?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s good. Straight to the point. I do receive information from some Canadian news outlets, and since the pipeline is closed, I guess that\u2019s caused kind of a furor with some of the politicians. They don\u2019t like it and not only is it horrible that a lot of these people lost their jobs, but I guess there was native people who were really counting on this, too, because of some of the provinces that it was running through and all this equity being talked about, I can\u2019t understand why that would be okay. You know what I\u2019m saying?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, I don\u2019t. It\u2019s my hearing. Are you saying that native tribes in Canada were hurt because of the closing of the pipeline?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, they were counting on it economically —<\/p>\n

RUSH: And nobody cares about that, is that your point?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, with all the equity that we\u2019re talking about in Washington —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, well, see, I don\u2019t even believe it when they talk. That was what Susan Rice was talking about, that they\u2019re gonna have racial equity all throughout this administration. That\u2019s a crock. The left doesn\u2019t do equity or equality. And the choice of the word equity was on purpose anyway. The fact they\u2019re hurting Native Americans, what\u2019s news about that?
