<\/p>\nRUSH: It\u2019s amazing how things don\u2019t change. I mean, they do and then they don\u2019t. And it is all tied together with the fact that Donald Trump was not reelected or had the election stolen from him, whichever you choose to believe. I\u2019m in the latter camp on this. There are too many oddities here to be flat-out coincidental. But before I get to the essence of what I\u2019m referencing here, Trump tweeted something out today, and I just want to share it with you.<\/p>\n
He said, “Distribution of both vaccines is going very smoothly. Amazing how many people are being vaccinated, record numbers. Our Country, and indeed the World, will soon see the great miracle of what the Trump Administration has accomplished. They said it couldn\u2019t be done!!!” And they did. Trump promised that we would have a vaccine by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

I mean, sometimes he said we\u2019d have it before the election, by the end of November, whatever. We do. We have a vaccine — two of them now — for the COVID virus, much sooner than anybody with feet planted firmly in the establishment even acknowledged was possible. They said it wasn\u2019t possible. Trump is right about that. This is American exceptionalism on display.<\/p>\n
This happened because an outsider was in charge of this kind of thing, Operation Warp Speed. This is something… You have to understand. A person from the Washington establishment, the deep state (you know, however we refer to it) wouldn\u2019t have even tried this, folks. They wouldn\u2019t have even thought it possible. They wouldn\u2019t have believed it possible to have a vaccine in less than 10 months. Now we\u2019ve got two of them.<\/p>\n
But we would have never even had this on the table as a possibility because people inside the Beltway are not interested in solving problems or solving them quickly. That\u2019s like the nature of all bureaucracies is not to fix things, thereby eliminating their own need. Why would you fix something if it would mean the end of you or your plan or your program or maybe even your very bureaucracy, your department?<\/p>\n
So the track record on the creation of vaccines… We still don\u2019t have a vaccine for AIDS. I wonder how people with AIDS feel about this. I mean, we have shown here that if we use what we Americans have at our disposal, that we can accomplish a lot of things that many other Americans tell us we can\u2019t do. And we do it at warp speed. I think Trump is gonna make a big deal out of this in the Georgia Senate campaign.<\/p>\n

Which he says he\u2019s going to make one more trip there soon or very near the actual runoff election itself. But then back to the area where things do not change. Well, one more thing about the vaccine. There\u2019s a Wall Street Journal story just to confirm this. “U.S. Starts Delivery of Moderna\u2019s COVID-19 Vaccine — Trucks carrying the shot will start rolling out Sunday [two days ago], with injections slated to commence Monday.<\/p>\n
“Immunizations using the newly authorized Covid-19 vaccine from Moderna Inc. are slated to start Monday, boosting the mass inoculation campaign that was launched just last week.” So I just wanted to establish that it\u2019s not just Trump saying it. It is actually happening.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush. This is the best Christmas present ever. God bless you.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, thank you. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Hey, listen, I wanted to talk a little bit about the order that the vaccines are being given out. Let me say the health care workers should be first, and having said that, you know, people talk about the people in nursing homes and seniors getting it as a priority. Well, I\u2019m a senior. I\u2019m 69, and as far as the nursing homes go, if you give it to the workers that are going into the nursing homes, I don\u2019t think you really need to have give it to the seniors.<\/p>\n
They\u2019re not going anywhere. Um, they\u2019re not going to work and so on. And as a senior myself and retired, my husband and I had the opportunity and are blessed enough that we don\u2019t have to go to work. So we can stay home. So if it were up to me, I wouldn\u2019t get it. I would say let\u2019s give it to the people —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait a minute. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I\u2019m getting confused. Are you in a nursing home?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. I\u2019m sorry. I\u2019m not. I\u2019m just saying that priorities that people are talking about are seniors and people in nursing homes. And I watched the first day that the vaccines were being given out, and they had all of these elderly people, you know, in nursing homes getting the vaccine. And yes, I want to protect them, but I think the way to protect the people in nursing homes is give it to the workers who are coming in rather than them, you know, to the seniors who are 90-, 93-year-olds.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Why? Wait, I\u2019ll play devil\u2019s advocate.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Because nursing home like Andrew Cuomo has used nursing homes to, shall we say —<\/p>\n
CALLER: (crosstalk)<\/p>\n
RUSH: — thin the herd of senior citizens.<\/p>\n
CALLER: No, but they\u2019re getting… The people in nursing homes are getting it from their workers and the people coming into the nursing homes. So if you\u2019re giving it to the health care workers including the maintenance people who work in the nursing homes, that should cover the people in them.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, but the people in nursing homes are the most vulnerable. The elderly are among the most vulnerable. Now, the way this would work under Obamacare is they would be the last to get because their days of productivity are finished.<\/p>\n
CALLER: But, but, see, that\u2019s in a way kind of my point (chuckles), because I\u2019m retired. Okay, let\u2019s go on to the people not necessarily nursing homes, just the, quote, “elderly.” I would fall under that category (crosstalking).<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, what do you think with…? What do you think about reporters in the Drive-By Media? They\u2019re claiming, they\u2019re demanding that they should be at the in front of the line because they\u2019re so essential.<\/p>\n
CALLER: No. Forget them. (laughs) But what… My point is as a retired senior, I have the blessing of being able to stay home and to not go out, and if it\u2019s question of the number of vaccines available, I would rather my vaccine go to somebody who needs their job, somebody who\u2019s working in a restaurant (crosstalking).<\/p>\n
RUSH: Oh, okay. So you basically want to sacrifice your dose.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, okay. You want to sacrifice your dose to somebody who is in a greater need for it.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Correct. That is correct. Especially schoolteachers. (laughing) You know, we want our grandkids, we want our kids back in schools. They should certainly get it before me. As I say, I\u2019m blessed, I\u2019m retired, I\u2019m able to stay home and not go out to work.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay, I hear you.<\/p>\n
CALLER: You know, I have a next-door neighbor whose son and daughter both work in restaurants as a chef.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s very thoughtful of you. That\u2019s extremely, extremely thoughtful of you that you would like to sacrifice your dose. I appreciate it and I understand it. I got a note from an acquaintance of 67. He\u2019s 67 years old, and because he\u2019s 67 years old, he\u2019s behind 118 million people who are in line ahead of him, the way it\u2019s currently established, which means he might get the vaccine a year from now.<\/p>\n
Do you know that employees in liquor stores are ahead of seniors, the way this is being handled right now? I\u2019m just getting up to speed on the nature of the allocation, how it\u2019s being done. And some of it, frankly, to my eyes doesn\u2019t make any sense, but I don\u2019t know that… You\u2019d probably have that reaction to any system that they came up with.<\/p>\n
Members of Congress are trying to boot people out of line and trying to jump the line, I\u2019ve heard, and they are also saying it\u2019s because they are essential. I mean, they are America\u2019s lawmakers. They need to be vaccinated so that they can continue to make laws because that\u2019s crucial. That\u2019s what… Teachers would be ahead of you in line, Lisa, would be another way of illustrating this. But fact is we can\u2019t give everybody that wants a vaccine a dose right now.
