Hoping to force a government shutdown,Dingy Harry Reid says he\u2019ll bring legislation to the Senate floor to keep the government running at current spending levels for the next month.<\/p>\n

Sound confusing? That\u2019s exactly what Democrats want. Here\u2019s what\u2019s going on. Last year, Democrats,ignoring their Constitutional duty,did not pass a budget — that\u2019s because it was an election year. Since then, the government\u2019sbeen runningwith “continuing resolutions,” with massive spending increases pushed through by Obama, Reid, and Pelosi.<\/p>\n

Republicans in the House said enough is enough. They passed a new $1.2 trillion spending bill to keep the government running through September, but the bill cuts Democrat spending by a whopping $60 billion.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s the sticking point. If Dingy Harryand Obama can\u2019t keep up their out-of-control spending,they\u2019ll shut down the government next weekand attempt to blame theRepublicans. The Democrats are already trying to scare old people, claiming seniors won\u2019t get their Social Security checks during a shutdown (it\u2019sa blatant lie, by the way; they will).<\/p>\n

In Wisconsin and Indiana, elected Democrats fled the states rather than deal with balancing the budgets by reining in tjeunions. In Ohio, liberals are protesting similar union-reining measures. In Washington, Obama and Reid threaten to shut down the government, rather than cut spending.<\/p>\n

So you see what\u2019s important to Democrats:spending moneythat we don\u2019t haveand catering to unions — not you, notyour kids, not asound economy. Remember that, because2012 will be here before you know it.<\/p>\n
