CALLER: Thank you, Rush. I got a pretty important question for you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Very important question, eh?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I want to know why you weren\u2019t on the red carpet for the Super Bowl. They had all these celebrities come out, people that didn\u2019t have a clue about football were giving interviews, and I couldn\u2019t find you anywhere.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, I\u2019ll be honest. I didn\u2019t even know there was a red carpet for celebrities at the Super Bowl. I didn\u2019t go as a celebrity. I wasn\u2019t invited to the Super Bowl. Here\u2019s what I do every year. We make a weekend of it for our top clients here. We always have a client dinner at a fine restaurant in town on Friday night of the Super Bowl weekend. This weekend it was at Nick and Sam\u2019s, one of the finest steakhouses in Dallas, and Al Michaels and Michael Irvin came by and did a Q&amp;A, interacted with my guests. And Saturday we set \u2019em up at a bunch of different parties and Sunday I have a suite at the game that I host, that I pay for. I\u2019m not a freeloader on any celebrity red carpet at this thing. I didn\u2019t even know there was a red carpet. I\u2019ve never seen a red carpet at a Super Bowl. Were you disappointed that I was not on the red carpet at the Super Bowl?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I really was. I thought maybe you turned down the invitation because they had everybody else walking the red carpet, so —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, who were these people on the red carpet at the Super Bowl?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, they had like Harrison Ford, couple of people that are starting some TV shows. I mean they had Adam Sandler.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. It sounds to me like you had the usual. Like Adam Sandler\u2019s got a new movie out, Harrison Ford, I don\u2019t know what he\u2019s got going on, but Jerry Jones invited a bunch of these people to sit in his suite, I\u2019m sure that\u2019s what it was. When we were watching the game they had still shots of all these people sitting there in Jerry Jones\u2019 suite on the giant board. One of the most embarrassing shots, by the way, you might have read about it, Cameron Diaz was spotted feeding popcorn to Alex Rodriguez, and he is livid that that shot happened to make it also on national TV.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I saw it happen. I watched it happen.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, he wasn\u2019t happy about it. Meanwhile, we had about 50 guests of mine in my suite. It\u2019s like the third or fourth year that we\u2019ve done this. To me the Super Bowl is where I host people important to me. I don\u2019t know, I wouldn\u2019t want to be part of being on display, red carpet, that kind of stuff. I love the game. I had a business reason for doing this, and I do it every year, so that\u2019s the answer to your question. I\u2019m sorry you were disappointed.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was disappointed, sir. Thank you very much for ProFlowers, Rush. That has helped me out these past three years more than you know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I appreciate that. In fact, I just got a note from a friend of mine who just made his order for Valentine\u2019s flowers from ProFlowers, and he got the Rush deal<\/a>. You can\u2019t do better than that. Yeah, it is a very horrible thing to be fed popcorn by Cameron Diaz.
