RUSH: John in Altoona, Pennsylvania, great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. Hey, you know, I hear President Obama calling for civility between the parties —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and all Americans, and I just want to know when are we gonna get civility from the other side, these people who accused you and Sarah Palin of causing this tragedy in Tucson.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: When are they gonna apologize? I say that, President Obama, you first.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They\u2019re not gonna. That\u2019s exactly right. He did not mention his side at all in his famous speech out there. He did not apologize for his side. His side hasn\u2019t. His side is responsible for much more of this stuff than we are. I mean you factor in movies, books, television shows, and the like.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No doubt. So how do we counter this? <\/p>\n

RUSH: You have to understand what a call for civility is. It\u2019s censorship. Civility means we shut up.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Civility does not mean that we tone it down. Civility does not mean that we act polite. Civility does not mean that we do an NPR impression. Civility means we shut up.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m surprised what he shoulda said was this only applies to Republicans. It doesn\u2019t apply to Democrats.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He doesn\u2019t have to say that. He knows the media knows this and that\u2019s what\u2019s gonna be promulgated. That\u2019s why the theme was carried out throughout the Sunday shows. You remember it was Zev Chafets who wrote the book on me. And Zev Chafets called Axelrod. Zev Chafets knows Axelrod. He called Axelrod. I don\u2019t think he named Axelrod when he told this story, but he called somebody at the regime and asked Obama, \u2019cause he asked me, ‘Would you play golf if Obama agreed to it?\u2019 I said, ‘Yeah, but it\u2019s not gonna happen, Zev, they\u2019re not gonna agree to it.\u2019 He said, ‘Okay, well, I\u2019m gonna try,\u2019 and he asked somebody at the regime if Obama would like to play golf with me, and they told him, ‘Limbaugh can go play with himself.\u2019 Civility. Civility. Civility simply means we shut up. That\u2019s all it means. Civility means we go away. Civility means censorship of the right. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, my gosh, I can\u2019t believe it. What a great honor —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — you are such a great American, God bless you for everything you do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, the thing you just said a little bit ago about you don\u2019t know what the Republicans are thinking. I understand that. But, you know, I look at it, and we\u2019re out here in flyover country, okay, people died in Arizona, we\u2019ve had the memorials, we\u2019re getting there, but when are the Republicans, the Tea Party people that we tried to elect and get elected, when are they gonna get back on track? We need to be repealing health care. The socialists, the Democrats, would have rescheduled, they would have had that repeal vote come in right after the shootings. They would have moved it up so that Republicans couldn\u2019t have voted on it. We need to be defunding NPR, DOE, NEA, et cetera, et cetera. We need to be investigating those Kenyan czars. We need to get on his agenda. We need to put him off balance and we need to get America back on track.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think that the health care debate, the repeal vote is this week.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, I did just hear that and I think that it\u2019s good that it\u2019s coming back, but the Republicans, you know, I\u2019m praying for \u2019em, I\u2019m hoping for \u2019em, but we have got to get going on this. You know, time is of the essence, and we gotta keep the Democrats off balance.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I agree. And I think they will. This was a huge, huge event that happened. And, remember, it was a member of Congress that was shot. A lot of these people think it could happen to them next. This is not an insignificant thing as far as they are concerned. A lot of them are very security conscious now, and who knows, if they\u2019d held the vote right after the shooting while the greatest health care in the world was in the process of trying to save all those victims, I don\u2019t think it would have gone off. And, by the way, nobody was angrier about it than I, because as a gift to me the original vote was on my birthday, January 12th, and they scrubbed it to later this week. I don\u2019t know what day this week, but I\u2019ve got it somewhere here in the story. Hang tough, sir. Everything\u2019s gonna be fine. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
