RUSH: Ronald Brownstein (former Los Angeles Times and now with the National Journal; that\u2019s the Hotline crew) with a long story entitled, ‘White Flight — President Obama\u2019s path to a second term may rely on states shaped by the same social forces he embodies,\u2019 and what this story does quite graphically is illustrate that our man-child president of color not only has failed to bring us together, he has driven us further apart by race — and, more specifically, in the Democrat Party. It is white Democrats and white independents who have fled Obama and the Democrat Party. This story details how Obama has lost almost all of his white support. Not all, but almost. <\/p>\n

The reelect team, we learn in this story (I\u2019m gonna give you details as the program unfolds) is looking at the Colorado Senate race. That\u2019s between Mike Bennet and Ken Buck. That\u2019s their new path to victory, which is right through educated white women. That\u2019s the one white group he hasn\u2019t lost. Now, we all know that there\u2019s been this major push for years and years and years to get women into college; and we know that at most institutions of higher learning, the enrollment rate is 60% female \/ 40% male. It\u2019s continuing in that direction. Female enrollment is going up; male enrollment is dropping. While all this has been going on, girls in college have been indoctrinated in the whole concept of the Nanny State and big government (which comes to \u2019em naturally, anyway, in most cases.) <\/p>\n

So that\u2019s where they\u2019re looking. What Obama is gonna have to do… There was a story yesterday about the abortion rate in New York. Maybe I still kept it here in the stack. Yeah, I did. It\u2019s 41% of all pregnancies in New York… Is it city or state? I have to check. Regardless, 41% of all pregnancies are aborted, and the vast majority of them are black, or African-American. So you talk about replacement levels of population and Obama depending on minority votes, they\u2019re gonna have to expand. (That\u2019s, ‘Hello, illegal immigration.\u2019) They\u2019re gonna have to expand according to Ronald Brownstein. They\u2019re gonna have to get even more minority votes in 2012 if they\u2019re to win reelection, because they\u2019ve lost whites. <\/p>\n

The Great Unifier has lost whites, except for, quote, unquote, ‘educated white women.\u2019 (interruption) The 41% is New York City, not the state. In New York City alone, four… (interruption) 38.7 is the number? I thought it was 41%? (interruption) Oh, in the state the number is 38.7%; 38.7 of all pregnancies in the State of New York are aborted. Forty-one percent in the city of New York are aborted; the vast majority of them are African-American. That\u2019s fewer Democrat votes, which is something we always point out: Most abortions in the country are of future liberals, and that is one of the reasons why they\u2019re looking at illegal immigration and amnesty as replacements for Democrat voters. <\/p>\n

You may think I\u2019m trying to funny \u2019cause I\u2019m a great entertainer, but I\u2019m not. It\u2019s true political analysis. <\/p>\n

RUSH: To avoid all confusion, the number is 41%. It\u2019s from Catholicvote.org. It is from ABCnews.com. It is from the Wall Street Journal. Forty-one percent of New York City pregnancies end in abortion; 41.3% are Hispanic.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is from ABC News: ‘Forty-one percent of New York City pregnancies end in abortion.\u2019 The rate for minorities is even higher. And it says here that it raises questions about the effectiveness of current birth control education. Really, that\u2019s the question it raises? Is that the question it raises? Forty-one percent of all New York City pregnancies end in abortion, and ABC says, even though it\u2019s new and eye opening statistics, it raises questions about the effectiveness of current birth control education? That\u2019s the question? When you hear that 41% of New York pregnancies are aborted, that\u2019s the question that you ask yourself, ‘Well, they must really be having trouble with their birth control education.\u2019 What is their birth control education? Condoms. Cucumbers. I kid you not. That\u2019s what their birth control education is. <\/p>\n

People will come along and say, ‘Why don\u2019t you try abstinence?\u2019 ‘Oh, yeah, yeah, right. Just say no.\u2019 That\u2019s right, abstinence. It works every time it\u2019s tried. ‘Well, yeah, easy for you to say.\u2019 Well, what\u2019s wrong? If it works for you, why couldn\u2019t it work for somebody else? ‘Well, kids are gonna have sex anyway. You can\u2019t stop them.\u2019 ‘Okay, so then 41% of all pregnancies ending in abortion shouldn\u2019t be a surprise.\u2019 ‘Well, yes, Mr. Limbaugh, it is a surprise.\u2019 ‘Well, why? I mean, if kids are gonna have sex, shouldn\u2019t the question be twofold? A, why are so many — well, the real question is who\u2019s making all the money off these abortions?\u2019 I guarantee they\u2019re all leftists, Planned Parenthood. Both sides say the high abortion percentage is a crisis.\u2019 There are a lot of us who felt it was a crisis for a long, long time. ‘The rate for minorities is even higher. New York archbishop Timothy Dolan: ‘If 41% of New York babies are aborted, with the percentage even higher in the Bronx and among our African-American babies in the world, it is downright chilling.”<\/p>\n

Broken down by race for 2009: blacks, 59.8% of all pregnancies aborted in New York City. Sixty percent of all black pregnancies aborted. Hispanics, 41.3%. Asians, 22.7% abortion rate. Non-Hispanic whites, 20.4% abortion rate. That\u2019s the lowest of the groups. So we\u2019ll round \u2019em up. Sixty percent for blacks; 41% Hispanics; 23% Asians; 20% whites. ‘The fact that 41% of all pregnancies in New York City end in abortion is not a secret and it\u2019s not anything new.\u2019 This is ABC. ‘In fact, things have been getting better over the past ten years. Back in 1998, 12 years ago, the number was actually 46%. Planned Parenthood is also not happy about the numbers.\u2019 That is BS. ‘But they push education. ‘We believe in comprehensive sex education, which by the way does include abstinence, but abstinence by itself has been proven to be ineffective.” Oh, shut up. What kind of a statement is that? <\/p>\n

‘Archbishop Dolan reiterated the pro-abstinence, pro-life, anti-contraceptive position of the church. ‘My word, what have we done the last 30 years. There\u2019s candy bowls on people\u2019s desks with condoms, they\u2019re dropping them from airplanes, yet nothing seems to improve, so they\u2019ve been on the wrong track here.” Now, there\u2019s a story from 2009 that seems relevant all of a sudden. And this story is from the Cybercast News Service, headline: ‘Abortion Kills More Black Americans Than the Seven Leading Causes of Death Combined.\u2019 And this is from the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. <\/p>\n

‘Abortion kills more black Americans than the seven leading causes of death combined, according to data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for 2005, the latest year for which the abortion numbers are available. Abortion killed at least 203,991 blacks in the 36 states and two cities (New York City and the District of Columbia) that reported abortions by race in 2005, according to the CDC. During that same year, according to the CDC, a total of 198,385 blacks nationwide died from heart disease, cancer, strokes, accidents, diabetes, homicide, and chronic lower respiratory diseases combined. These were the seven leading causes of death for black Americans that year.\u2019 Which takes us to the numbers: Sixty percent of blacks, New York City, 60% of black pregnancies are aborted, and abortion kills more black Americans than the seven leading causes of death combined. <\/p>\n

‘White flight,\u2019 Ronald Brownstein, the National Journal. ‘By any standard, white voters\u2019 rejection of Democrats in November\u2019s elections was daunting and even historic. Fully 60 percent of whites nationwide backed Republican candidates for the House of Representatives; only 37 percent supported Democrats, according to the National Election Poll exit poll conducted by Edison Research. Not even in Republicans\u2019 1994 congressional landslide did they win that high a percentage of the white vote. Moreover, those results may understate the extent of the white flight from the Democratic Party, according to a National Journal analysis of previously unpublished exit-poll data provided by Edison Research. The new data show that white voters not only strongly preferred Republican House and Senate candidates but also registered deep disappointment with President Obama\u2019s performance, hostility toward the cornerstones of the current Democratic agenda, and widespread skepticism about the expansive role for Washington embedded in the party\u2019s priorities.\u2019 <\/p>\n

There is a genuine, huge white flight away from liberalism, statism, leftism, Obamaism, whatever you want to call it, \u2019cause little of this white flight went to the Republican Party because they were the Republicans. They went there because they weren\u2019t the Democrats. That\u2019s not a put-down. It\u2019s just something everybody needs to realize right now, particularly in the political context. The question then becomes, ‘All right, how do you hold \u2019em? If this large a number of people are abandoning the Democrat Party, how do you keep them away from the Democrat Party?\u2019 Well, first thing, you don\u2019t do anything the Democrat Party\u2019s doing. So you do not do anything to grow government; you do not do anything to expand or increase debt; you don\u2019t do anything that imposes further limits on liberty or freedom. It\u2019s very simple. They\u2019re sitting on a gold mine of opportunity here. Take the racial component. I mean it\u2019s interesting that 60% of white voters are fleeing, but they\u2019re the largest bloc, so just figure, huge numbers of voters, obviously we know this, the election return fled the Democrat Party. And because it\u2019s exit poll data, we know why. <\/p>\n

It was about Obama. It was about his policies. It was about what the Democrat Party stands for. It wasn\u2019t marketing or packaging. It wasn\u2019t the wrong words being used. It was totally based on substance. ‘On each of those questions, minority voters expressed almost exactly the opposite view from whites.\u2019 Which explains why every black Democrat candidate in the House won reelection. White voters\u2019 deep disappointment with Obama\u2019s performance, not so with black voters. White voters\u2019 hostility toward the cornerstones of the Democrat agenda: health care, deficit spending, government control. White flight. Black voters like that stuff. Widespread skepticism about the expansive role of Washington embedded in the party\u2019s priorities sends white people away from the Democrat Party, keeps black voters with the Democrat Party. <\/p>\n

‘Much can change in two years,\u2019 hopes Mr. Brownstein, ‘as Obama\u2019s own post-2008 odyssey demonstrates. These results, however, could carry profound implications for 2012. They suggest that economic recovery alone may not solve the president\u2019s problems with many of the white voters who stampeded toward the Republican Party last year. ‘It comes down to that those voters are very skeptical of the expansion of government,\u2019 says Colorado Republican Party Chairman Dick Wadhams, a veteran strategist. ‘The voters who went with Obama in 2008 did not know what they were going to get with that vote.” And that\u2019s true. Time to finally admit this. That was an optics vote. It was a vote of hope to finally eliminate this vestige of slavery by showing we\u2019re not racist by electing the first black president. It didn\u2019t work. <\/p>\n

”Now that they\u2019ve seen the health care bill, the stimulus bill, the bailout, the cap-and-trade proposal–issue after issue, they don\u2019t like what they see.\u2019 That resistance could, in turn, increase the pressure on Obama to accelerate the generation-long transformation of the Democratic electoral coalition that he pushed forward in 2008. With so much of the white electorate, especially working-class whites, dubious about the president\u2019s direction, to win a second term he will likely need to increase turnout and improve his showing among the groups that keyed his 2008 victory–minorities, young people, and white-collar white voters, especially women. In 2012, Obama may be forced to build his Electoral College map more around swing states where those voters are plentiful (such as Colorado, North Carolina, and even Arizona) and less on predominantly blue-collar and white states such as Ohio and Indiana that he captured in 2008.\u2019<\/p>\n

The question is, how are they gonna do that? And with these abortion numbers, I know this is New York, but, folks, you have to figure that percentage is probably pretty much the same around the country. Democrats have to seriously be worried here because their future voters are being killed in the womb, both Hispanic and black. Gee whiz. Sixty percent of all New York City African-American pregnancies are aborted. So, anyway, this is a long piece. I\u2019ve given you some of the highlights here. Here\u2019s what Axelrod\u2019s counting on, by the way. This is, again, from the piece: ‘More specifically–and perhaps more revealingly–Axelrod also has his eye on the Colorado example, where the exit poll found that Bennet lost blue-collar white women by double digits and blue-collar white men by more than 2-to-1. Yet he prevailed by amassing strong support from young people, Hispanics, and other minorities.\u2019 So I want to prepare you — and Axelrod\u2019s running the reelection campaign along with Gibbs — what they\u2019re saying is, they\u2019re gonna have to go out and get more minorities, blacks, and women. <\/p>\n

How are they gonna do it? Well, by virtue of the details in this piece, they\u2019re gonna have to go out and basically promise communism. That is gonna be fun to see because people assuming that they\u2019re far-left-wing leftists, socialists, is what has driven all the independents and whites away from Obama, who did vote for him. And now they\u2019ve decided the only way they\u2019re gonna win reelection is by getting more minorities to vote, more young people to vote. Can you imagine if they believe that, and if that holds true, what this campaign\u2019s shaping up to be? They\u2019re gonna have to be bluntly open and honest. I mean, if you think class warfare rhetoric\u2019s bad, it\u2019s gonna get worse now. All the traditional Democrat attacks on achievement, success, are gonna get even worse now in order to make sure they get enough votes. Then you factor in all the potential voters being aborted out there, wow. It\u2019s gonna be interesting. If this stuff all holds true, and it\u2019s politics, things can change overnight, but it sounds to me like this is a recipe for a landslide defeat, folks.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, the real question… It\u2019s a question to which the answer is known and it\u2019s rhetorical, but it still is interesting to me. The whole Ronald Brownstein piece is on ‘white flight.\u2019 Sixty percent of whites are fleeing because of X, Y, and Z. Well, when you read why they\u2019re fleeing it\u2019s pretty bad stuff. I mean, it\u2019s harmful to America as we\u2019ve known it. The real question is: Why are the minorities hanging around? Why are the blacks and Hispanics and the other minorities sticking with the Democrat Party? I know the number of 60% white flight, that\u2019s a big number, but it\u2019s so big you might want to say, ‘Well, that\u2019s not unusual. That\u2019s kinda sensible. What is it about these others that\u2019s making \u2019em hang in there?\u2019 And of course the answer is the welfare state, which is by design. But it\u2019s heartwarming to know that the welfare state has not captured a majority of the dreams and thinking of the country. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
