DINGELL: It\u2019s tightening here in Michigan. Some of the autoworkers who I thought were gonna go back to Joe Biden were very clear with me last night, they were voting for President Trump. We had 90,000 voters that didn\u2019t even vote in the presidential elections last time. We\u2019ve gotta make sure that people vote in the presidential and in the Senate race. So I\u2019m not… You know, I\u2019m not sounding the alarm bells like I was four years ago. But it is competitive. It\u2019s tight.<\/p>\n

I got a lot of autoworkers who I thought were gonna vote for Biden but made it very clear with me, they\u2019re voting for Trump.” She just discovered this. This is… I think if these Democrats would run around and talk to people, they would make this same discovery themselves. They do not know what\u2019s happening out there.<\/p>\n
They\u2019re believing their own polls just like they did four years ago. They\u2019re believing this is over. They\u2019re believing that it\u2019s gonna pretty much be a Biden landslide, and then they go out and they talk to people. “Whoa, you\u2019ve got 90,000 autoworkers who didn\u2019t even vote in the presidential election last time.” Who do you think is telling her they\u2019re gonna vote Trump? It\u2019s these people.<\/p>\n
People didn\u2019t vote last time; they\u2019re voting Trump. That\u2019s what she\u2019s trying to tell these people at CNN. It\u2019s tight out there. It isn\u2019t over out there. “I\u2019m not sounding the alarm bells like I was four years ago, but it\u2019s competitive.” She is sounding the alarm bells. So I think this is a fascinating little bit of news. This is the kind of information that you\u2019re not gonna see reported in too many places.<\/p>\n
But it\u2019s one of these little giveaways. You talk to an actual Democrat in an actual battleground state and you\u2019re getting surprising information. In terms of what the expectations are, I think this is commonplace.
