RUSH: I love it. Cheney\u2019s at the Bush library groundbreaking yesterday in Dallas. He said this.<\/p>\n

CHENEY: The George W. Bush Presidential Center isn\u2019t much to look at it just yet, but the workers are ready, construction will move fast after today\u2019s groundbreaking. This may be the only shovel-ready project in America. (audience laughter) <\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) The only shovel-ready project in America. I mean everything that these people stand for they\u2019re having it rammed right down their throats, starting with the election. I mean they have staked their happiness, their success, their identity on being able to destroy people like Sarah Palin and her family, and me, and Cheney. And we\u2019re surviving and we\u2019re laughing. And we are happy. And that bugs \u2019em, too. That bugs \u2019em, too. S.E. Cupp, columnist extraordinaire, New York Daily News, has a piece on that very subject today. The left is miserable because Bristol Palin<\/a> is happy, because Sarah Palin\u2019s happy, because they\u2019re enjoying life as Americans. Remember, you\u2019re not supposed to do that. When there\u2019s any misery out there, happiness is unfair. We\u2019re all supposed to be miserable. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, madam.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m a longtime listener and NFL alum dittos from the Atlanta area.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, Mr. Snerdley kept me on track. I was calling about your comments on being happy. I don\u2019t watch Dancing with the Stars but I\u2019m very, very happy, and I just want to thank you for being such an entertaining talk show host and spreading good cheer.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you. It\u2019s the holiday season and I love the holiday season.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, blessed happy Thanksgiving. What you said, I feel like the left, you know, wants us all to feel this false and self-righteous heaviness of spirit and that if you\u2019re happy, you really don\u2019t care about, well, whatever it is they\u2019re talking about.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right, if you\u2019re happy, then you don\u2019t have a sufficient capacity to suffer.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right. And I was so happy to see Mr. Cheney walk out on that stage.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He reminds me of my dad who was World War II vet.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And you always knew where he stood. You know, he acted like an adult. He wasn\u2019t trying to be your buddy. He was in charge and you felt like you could trust him. And I just thank him for demanding the respect that he does without —<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s a great patriot. He had a great line at the groundbreaking yesterday for the Bush Presidential Center. He said, ‘This is probably the only shovel-ready project in the country,\u2019 in a clever jab at Obama. <\/p>\n
