CALLER: I have gotten most of my education from you, I have to say. One of the points I wanted to validate that you make, and also something I haven\u2019t heard too much discussion about that I think ‘we, the people\u2019 need to be aware of, one, you constantly talk about the Republican Party needs to maintain. We don\u2019t need a third party. The Republican Party what we need to do is make it more conservative. We need to take it back to its conservative roots, and I would lobby that we would push it back towards the Constitution because it has gotten away from it. So I confirm and validate that and love that you preach that. The point that I don\u2019t hear a lot of discussion about is that I think that very strategy is what has happened with the Democratic Party. I think that we have an ideological of fascist and Marxist individuals that have taken the Democrat Party and hijacked it rather than creating a third party to distract from it, and they have taken the Democrat Party and pushed it further from the Constitution. So I would love to hear more discussion about that from the airwaves for ‘we, the people\u2019 to recognize that that is what is happening and these people are really sheep in wolves\u2019 clothing as we go to the polls next week.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There is definitely something to it. It\u2019s something that happened to the Democrat Party. I mean this is not the Democrat Party of Hubert Humphrey or JFK. But in the last 20 years the Democrat Party didn\u2019t need to be hijacked. I don\u2019t think the Democrat Party was ‘hijacked\u2019 so much as it was eventually just consumed. I mean, where else are leftists, communists, Marxists and all gonna go? There already is the Communist Party USA. Remember, leftists and Marxists know that they\u2019re a minority. If they come out and say, ‘Here\u2019s what we are and this is what we\u2019re going to do,\u2019 they get creamed. I think the Democrat Party has always been what it is. It\u2019s just they have, in the last bunch of years, learned to go ahead and — during election years — moderate, sound Republican, do whatever, sound conservative, but govern in just the exact opposite manner.<\/p>\n

In other words, lie about what they believe, lie about who they are, lie about this. And in that way they get mainstream Democrats who may not be extreme leftists to go along with the party. But clearly if John Fitzgerald Kennedy was alive today, and all things being equal, he would not recognize the Democrat Party. He would not. He would be shouted down. This guy was… JFK believed in American exceptionalism, he believed in self-reliance, he believed in defending the country. He didn\u2019t think the United States was guilty. He believed in a strong defense and lower taxes. He was not a Reaganite on taxes, but he believed in lowering tax rates for a time as an economic stimulus. LBJ was not a JFK. <\/p>\n

LBJ was further left, and I actually think that one of the things that led to the Democrat Party making the obvious sharp turn to the left was the fact that a Marxist killed JFK. Lee Harvey Oswald was a Marxist and a communist, and I think it discombobulated them and threw \u2019em for a loop. JFK was a capitalist. He had nothing in common with his brother, Teddy. Well, I mean, sure there are some things in common, but I\u2019m talking about politically. They really weren\u2019t all that much alike. Ted Kennedy became a huge liberal. I\u2019m not saying Kennedy wasn\u2019t a Democrat. JFK was a Democrat, and he was not a conservative, ideologically. But he was not a Barney Frank. He was not a Harry Reid or a John Kerry or a Barack Obama. He was an anti-communist. You don\u2019t find those guys in the Democrat Party today. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello, Rush. Nice to talk with you. I\u2019m calling, and I congratulate you on your marriage. And I you have many, many years. We just segregated our 50th wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s wonderful, that\u2019s just amazing, unbelievable, and wonderful.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, thank you. I wanted to make a comment. This morning on a number of the stations I heard where 30% — I hope I heard this correctly — well, I don\u2019t know if I hope, but I thought I heard 30% of the country, from polls, are undecided as to how they\u2019re gonna vote. You know, I really was shocked to hear that. And I find it —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no —<\/p>\n

CALLER: — interesting although I shouldn\u2019t in that California, for Barbara Boxer —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — although I shouldn\u2019t be surprised with the agenda in California and with the way the left-sided — the left wing —<\/p>\n

RUSH: What did she do? I\u2019m down to 25 seconds.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Supposedly had said, you know, when she was talking with the general that time and her pompous attitude —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, ‘please call me Senator\u2019?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — as to he addressed her as ‘ma\u2019am\u2019 —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and how she said, you know, ‘I wish you would address me as Senator, I worked so hard to earn this position.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I thought that was extremely rude of her.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And very childish and immature. Thirty percent say they\u2019re not sure how they\u2019re gonna vote. I think you\u2019re misreading that. That\u2019s a poll of Democrats, 30% are not sure they\u2019re going to vote.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Hey, I\u2019m a lifelong Democrat, started listen to you about a year ago —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — when this health care stuff started coming out.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And my health insurance starting at the beginning, at the first of the year is going up 579%.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Starting in 2011?<\/p>\n

CALLER: In 2011. And I wouldn\u2019t vote for a Democrat for anything.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) <\/p>\n

CALLER: And I\u2019m a lifelong Democrat. I voted for them for 30 years. I don\u2019t vote one way. I\u2019m not a staunch Democrat or anything like that. I\u2019ll listen to both point of views, and I agree with you most of the time —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — except on one thing, and we\u2019ll never agree on that, I guess.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What\u2019s that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Unions.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Unions. Okay. Well — <\/p>\n

CALLER: And —<\/p>\n

RUSH: — I\u2019ll bet you if I had time with you I could come up with a couple things about unions you and I would agree with.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Correct. I don\u2019t agree with the way unions are today and I don\u2019t agree with them taking all of our dues money and putting it toward Democratic campaigns, and I don\u2019t agree with them trying to persuade my vote.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, there you are. I\u2019m not opposed to unions existing, as long as people who join them know what they\u2019re doing. It\u2019s a free country. If you want to be a union member, go ahead, but realize what you\u2019re doing. The one thing I don\u2019t understand… I\u2019m being totally honest now. You just said you voted Democrat for 31 years but no more because your insurance premium\u2019s going up whatever it\u2019s going up. Your taxes have gone up that much and more over those 30 years for the same reason. So I, honestly don\u2019t get it. Folks, I\u2019m being dead serious here. I\u2019m not trying to be provocative. I don\u2019t know why anybody who wants freedom and control over their own life would ever vote for a Democrat. The only people I can think of voting for Democrats are people who don\u2019t want to work or who don\u2019t have to work or what have you.
