CALLER: Hi, Rush. Thank you for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just have a question, a what-should-I-do question. I am a teacher in the same school my son attends, and his teacher is having the class and him write an essay on how to help Obama advance his agenda. I obviously did not want him to write this, so I took the teacher aside and I said, ‘Look, I don\u2019t want my son to write this.\u2019 She\u2019s actually a friend of mine, I said, ‘Come on, you know how I stand, please don\u2019t do this. I don\u2019t want him to get an F. It\u2019s not right what you\u2019re doing, and I think other parents are gonna complain.\u2019 No other parents complained, and if he doesn\u2019t do it he\u2019s gonna get an F. I\u2019m afraid, since I\u2019m not tenured there, if I make too much noise, or I go to the principal, that it could affect my job, I could lose my job, but I don\u2019t want to not do anything and show my son that we just step back and we take whatever the liberals give us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. It\u2019s a toughie. So you\u2019re afraid of losing your job, you\u2019re afraid of your son being punished. You\u2019re afraid of being a lone woman there. So what can you do? <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The assignment is to write an essay on how to help Obama accomplish his agenda?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s the assignment?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. That\u2019s the assignment.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. Write a paper with the premise that it\u2019s impossible for Obama to achieve his agenda and for America to remain America. I mean just tackle it head on.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Really? Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Tackle it head on. Okay, you want my kid to write an essay on how to advance Obama\u2019s agenda, and I\u2019m gonna write on what would happen if that did happen. We\u2019d lose America. So he fulfills the assignment, he writes something unique, and then if he gets punished, he\u2019s punished for content and the way he\u2019s thinking, not for lack of completion of the assignment, and then you have a reason to make a case that your kid is being singled out for what he believes, that your teacher is trying to indoctrinate him into a certain kind of belief, and that\u2019s not what education is. Education is education. It\u2019s not indoctrination. So if you believe and if your son believes that Obama\u2019s agenda is harmful, write an essay on that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s what I would do. And then apply to Hillsdale College when you get kicked out. That\u2019s exactly what I would do. I\u2019d just ram it back down their throats. If you feel that outnumbered, and you don\u2019t want to lose tenure, I would just complete the assignment on the basis that the premise is wrong, just don\u2019t accept the premise, but you\u2019ll do the assignment, you\u2019ll do the essay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Don\u2019t insult the teacher in the essay, don\u2019t insult the teacher, take it seriously. ‘I believe Obama\u2019s agenda will harm the country if it passes, and here\u2019s why. This is why I will not help advance the agenda.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s great advice.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know. That\u2019s what I would do. Now, it\u2019s easy for me to say. It\u2019s not my son and I\u2019m not you in the school. It\u2019s much easier for me. I know it\u2019s probably a daunting thing to actually do, but that\u2019s what I would do in that situation.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s a hard thing to do. I mean I feel like I\u2019m the only conservative in this school, and I see what the teachers do, and it gets me upset, and it\u2019s one of the reasons I became a teacher because I want the kids to learn the right way, to learn objectively, to learn about the Constitution and how our country was founded and the greatness of America. And I\u2019m trying to undo all the indoctrination that I see teachers —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. Then this is made to order. You\u2019re trying to undo it, then do it in the belly of the beast. Do it in response to this indoctrination attempt. Stand your ground. You want to try to indoctrinate my kid, we\u2019re gonna try to indoctrinate you. We don\u2019t think the agenda is right. We don\u2019t think it\u2019s good for America. That\u2019s what I would do. That\u2019s what I would do.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s very good advice. Thank you. I was looking for something because my husband said, ‘No, don\u2019t do anything, just let it go.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, see that\u2019s the easy thing. Don\u2019t make waves, don\u2019t confront authority this way. Your son is young, this is just one teacher, let\u2019s not make problems, blah blah blah blah blah. But you know me, this kind of stuff, I couldn\u2019t take it. If I had a kid in this circumstance, this would not fly, and I\u2019d find a way to smack \u2019em right in the face with their own idea. <\/p>\n

Now, Snerdley tells me I got four people on the line telling me I\u2019m wrong with my take on cell phones. Snerdley knows for a fact there have never been, in the history of this program, four people on hold at the same time telling me I\u2019m wrong, and it\u2019s all on my take on hands-free cell phones and cell phones being prohibited. We can\u2019t take any calls today, Snerdley, as you see we\u2019re sadly out of time. But he\u2019s getting some numbers. We\u2019ll talk to these people tomorrow, maybe.<\/p>\n

This is what your kid should write. ‘To help Obama achieve his agenda, get rid of Congress, get rid of the Supreme Court, and shred the Constitution,\u2019 and turn that in.
