RUSH: Folks, let me try to inspire some confidence in you. I know a lot of people — and I must take some blame for this. I know that part of this is my fault. A couple of weeks ago when I spelled out what I think Obama\u2019s approach is going to be, blame the Republicans, run against the Republicans. Much easier for Obama to win reelection by running against the opposing party. Blame the Republicans for everything. Here we are in the middle of an economic mess, Obama will position himself as having all the answers, all the miraculous fixes, and the evil Republicans are going to be opposing him at every step of the way, and he\u2019ll take that and say, ‘See, I got all these wonderful ideas but they won\u2019t help me, they won\u2019t join me.\u2019 Now, a lot of you sent me e-mails, said, ‘Well, Rush, why should we even show up and vote then?\u2019 You thought I was being fatalistic. I was not. I was trying to prepare you for what\u2019s coming. That\u2019s all. I was trying to prepare everybody for what\u2019s coming. The Republicans are gonna get blamed. We all know this. I mean, even now, Obama\u2019s blaming the evil empire: The evil empire is back. The evil empire — us — we\u2019re striking back. You know, Reagan can make a joke about the evil empire and everybody goes nuts. Obama can do it and the press applauds. <\/p>\n

But let me try to infuse some optimism. How long\u2019s Obama been blaming Bush for the economic mess that we\u2019re in? Three years, has he not? At least two. During the campaign year of 2008, all during 2009 and most of this year, all of this year, Obamas been blaming Bush. Well, now, if people believed that, wouldn\u2019t the Democrats be looking at smooth reelection? If Obama were universally popular and loved as he was during the \u201908 campaign and if he were successful blaming Bush then why would the Republicans be winning anything? See, my point is, ladies and gentlemen, Obama hasn\u2019t succeeded in blaming the Republicans. He\u2019s done it, I mean he\u2019s blamed the Republicans, blamed everything on what he inherited. He blamed it on his predecessor. And I know what you\u2019re saying, ‘Yeah, but, Rush, but, Rush, everybody knows Bush isn\u2019t around anymore. The Republicans are going to be in office, and they are going to be the majority in the House.\u2019 Okay, fine, I\u2019ll give you that. But if he hasn\u2019t been able to blame all of this on Bush now&hellip; now remember, he did succeed in that as part of his ability to get elected. Hell, a lot of Republicans agreed with him. But he\u2019s been on this case ever since he was immaculated, and it\u2019s clear the American people do not blame Bush for this. If they did, Obama\u2019s popularity would be way up. People would still love and adore him for making all these brave and courageous decisions to fix what Bush had broken. <\/p>\n

See, I think Obama\u2019s kind of worn out the whole blame thing. I think the American people are tired of whining. They don\u2019t want to be told why things are bad. They want somebody who is gonna either get out of the way and let it fix itself or who is going to help fix it. Obama talks about Republicans have driven the car into a ditch. Let\u2019s look at this whole thing as a toilet that\u2019s stopped up. The people don\u2019t want to know who did it. They just want it flushed. They don\u2019t care anymore how it happened. Well, not true. They don\u2019t care anymore who did it. Just fix it. In fact, that\u2019s one of the reasons Obama\u2019s in big trouble because he convinced everybody he was going to fix it, like magic. He wasn\u2019t only gonna fix it, he\u2019s gonna get \u2019em a new kitchen, he was gonna get \u2019em a new car. And not one that got 30 miles to the charge. He was gonna get \u2019em a real car. He was gonna get \u2019em a new house. He was gonna get \u2019em out of their mortgage indebtedness. He was gonna let \u2019em keep their home, all this magic, he was going to do it. Obama was gonna fix it. He made people think that just by showing up and being immaculated things would magically be fixed. Not only did that not happen, he started blaming the other guy. People are fed up with the blame. <\/p>\n

So I\u2019m just telling you Obama\u2019s gonna keep doing what he\u2019s doing, he\u2019s gonna blame. He\u2019s a narcissist; he\u2019s a liberal. They always blame everybody else. I\u2019m just telling you. But I\u2019m also telling you, I don\u2019t think it\u2019s gonna work anymore because it turns out he wasn\u2019t the one we\u2019ve been waiting for. It turns out they weren\u2019t the ones we\u2019ve been waiting for, we are! After all this time, we\u2019re the ones that everybody\u2019s been waiting for. Not him. Not his idiotic, jackass policies. Us! So just \u2019cause he\u2019s gonna blame the Republicans, you gotta have hope, you gotta have faith, you gotta have some confidence that he isn\u2019t automatically going to get away with it. There\u2019s Sharpton on TV. Do you think people are gonna buy into what Al Sharpton says, the Reverend Jackson, the usual suspects of the Democrat Party? Why all of a sudden just because the Republicans win an election are the Democrats going to have credibility? How does that happen? The Republicans win and win big and all of a sudden the country loves Democrats again? <\/p>\n

Let me ask you this. Have the sea levels gone down? Have the levels of the ocean begun to fall? No. Are the polar bears still on those tiny little blocks of ice? Yes. The Democrats show us pictures of this all the time. Look at this headline. This is from Alaska.fws.gov, Fish and Wildlife Service. This is a government website. The headline is this: ‘Report: Killer Whales Preying on Alaska Sea Otters.\u2019 No kidding. ‘A report by government scientists identifies killer whales as the No. 1 reason there are so few sea otters in southwest Alaska. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service\u2019s proposed five-year, $15 million recovery plan for sea otters in the Aleutian Islands considered a slew of possible reasons for the perilously low numbers found in some areas. The draft recovery plan released this week said there is only one threat considered to have high importance: predation by killer whales, with sharks perhaps being a factor. … The report said there may be ‘few actions that can be taken” to mitigate predation by killer whales. ‘But the sea otter recovery program should search for solutions and be open to novel ideas,” the report said.\u2019<\/p>\n

Now, isn\u2019t this what killer whales do? Killer whales eat sea otters. Maybe it\u2019s time to stop saving the whales. Maybe the problem is the whales. Maybe the problem is we\u2019ve been too busy saving the whales. So there are so many whales that they\u2019re hungry out there, they\u2019re eating more otters than normal. Maybe our focus has been all wrong. If we\u2019re gonna embark on a plan to eliminate the sea otter from the diet of the killer whale, then somebody tell me what the hell is a killer whale gonna eat then? And how are we gonna tell the killer whales, ‘By the way, you can\u2019t eat those otters anymore?\u2019 How are we gonna get that message out? Are we gonna put signs out under the surface of the ocean? And we\u2019ll have to keep adjusting the signs lower because sea levels are gonna keep going down. Are we gonna make the dolphins tell the killer whales, ‘By the way, you guys, you can\u2019t eat any more sea otters?\u2019 And we spent $15 million that we don\u2019t have to study something everybody knows. <\/p>\n

School kids at Prince William Sound can tell you, sea otters are eaten by killer whales. They have seen it. Sea otters were cleaned up after the Exxon Valdez oil spill. The symbolic sea otters were sent back out to the wild, they let the kids out of school that day, the band\u2019s playing, everybody\u2019s happy, corn dogs are being served at the concession stands. They roll this little otter out in a cage, release the door of the cage, otter swims out on its back, it\u2019s waving at the kids, everybody is saying, ‘Ooh, look at how cute it is.\u2019 And here comes an Orca outta nowhere and chomps down on the sea otter and the band stops playing, the kids start crying and Mommy said, ‘What happened?\u2019 I don\u2019t know. Call the Fish and Wildlife Service. The Orca didn\u2019t get the memo not to eat the sea otter. Rush, why you spending so much time on this? Because it\u2019s stupid. We\u2019re spending $15 million trying to tell nature to stop being nature. We spent $15 million to find that the biggest threat to see otters was whales and sharks, which we already knew. And, by the way, the otters know it, too. They know when they see a killer whale to start paddling the other way. This is the kind of sophistry stupidity that we\u2019re having to deal with all over the place. <\/p>\n

Ladies and gentlemen, if Obama was going to get away with blaming Republicans, he would be getting away with it now. Very simple. If Obama could blame Bush for the economy when the Democrats completely controlled Congress in 2007, he\u2019s going to have a tough time blaming the GOP when they just control the House. It\u2019s not automatic he\u2019s gonna get away with it. I was just trying to prepare you for the fact it\u2019s going to happen. <\/p>\n

Angela Merkel — this is incredible — she said that Germany\u2019s attempt to create a multicultural society has utterly failed. And it does fail every single damn time it\u2019s tried. Everything liberals do fails. Everything that liberals force on people, liberalism has to be forced on people, and it always fails. ‘Speaking to a meeting of young members of her Christian Democrats, Angela Merkel said, allowing people of different cultural backgrounds to live ‘side by side\u2019 without integrating had not worked in the country that is home to some four million Muslims. ‘This [multicultural] approach has failed, utterly failed,\u2019 Merkel told the meeting in Potsdam, south of Berlin. Merkel said too little had been required of immigrants in the past and repeated her argument that they should learn German in order to cope in school and take advantage of opportunities in the labor market. The row over foreigners in Germany has shifted since former central banker Thilo Sarrazin published a highly-controversial book in which he accused Muslim immigrants of lowering the intelligence of German society.\u2019 I told you about that book. <\/p>\n

Europe is years ahead of us trying everything that we\u2019re going through now, and it\u2019s all crumbling. You see what\u2019s happening in France. They\u2019re gonna raise the retirement age, and there are riots because the people want the freebies they have been told they\u2019re gonna get. You can\u2019t sustain it. Liberalism doesn\u2019t work. It fails. It fails people; it fails cultures; it fails societies. Liberalism destroys. Liberalism is purely and simply destructive, and you see it everywhere. And we are walking down the same path. The American people have awakened, they have seen it and don\u2019t want to go down that path and will not. The blame game is over. They don\u2019t care. We don\u2019t care whose fault it is. Just get out of the way and let us fix it now. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I was just wanting to ask you, why isn\u2019t there pressure on Nancy Pelosi to step down as Speaker of the House for the good of her party? In other words, where\u2019s her sacrifice to the cause?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why isn\u2019t there similar requests on the part of Obama to step aside and save his party?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, for Nancy Pelosi to step down as Speaker.<\/p>\n

RUSH: She\u2019s not alone. Obama\u2019s doing a good job destroying the party and so is Harry Reid.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I agree, but there was the Republican pundits who were saying, you know, Christine O\u2019Donnell is gonna jeopardize the GOP\u2019s chance for getting the Senate, but I could make a greater argument that Pelosi is hurting her party from keeping the House. I mean, because these Democrats are out here having to run against the Republican opponent, but also having her as sort of, you know, the ugly stepchild that keeps rearing her head, and internal pressure to get her to say, you know, I\u2019ll step down just to at least mitigate the loss of seats that they\u2019re gonna lose.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019m trying to think of an analogy here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Where is the clamor in North Korea for Kim Jong-il to step aside?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) Yeah, point taken.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I mean who\u2019s going to do this?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you\u2019re right, but —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m sure a lot of Democrats are privately running around cursing her. I mean, as I said earlier, there are Democrats who, their political careers are on the verge of being over because of Obamacare, because she pushed them to vote for it. And we warned \u2019em, a lot of Blue Dogs, we warned them, ‘You tie yourself to Pelosi and your career is finished.\u2019 But nobody is gonna demand that she step aside. I mean, that would be great if they did, but we just can\u2019t expect that. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush. How you doing? I just love you. You\u2019re about the only thing that stood between me and an aneurysm the last two years.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I wanted to respond to the lady that called and said, ‘How do we keep them from winning in 2012?\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I have two thoughts, and the first one is that I think that Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, who are wonderful men and are trying to represent us as best they can, I think they need to step aside and let Paul Ryan, Michele Bachmann, Eric Cantor, hopefully Sean Bielat, Christine O\u2019Donnell, Sharron Angle, they need to step aside and let these young congresspeople get their word in.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s not going to happen. You\u2019re not going to have these guys say, ‘You know what, we\u2019re the problem and we\u2019re gonna turn it over to these guys who are the success –‘ They\u2019re going to have to be forced out. This is not how it happens. You found two calls in a row who wonder why people don\u2019t quit, step aside. It isn\u2019t going to happen. They\u2019re going to have to be forced out.
