CALLER: Oh, hi, Rush. Mega dittos, Mike in Falls Church, Virginia. I work for a car dealership here in Falls Church. I can\u2019t say the name of it, but it\u2019s owned by a prominent Democrat. But they recently had their health care people in and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second, wait just a minute now. You\u2019re intriguing me here. You\u2019re intriguing the audience. You can\u2019t mention the dealership you work for owned by a prominent Democrat?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, yeah, because I gotta keep my job.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But we would all know the Democrat when you say prominent, we would all know who the owner of the company is?<\/p>\n

CALLER: You could probably figure it out.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Was it the dealership or the manufacturer —<\/p>\n

CALLER: The dealership.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The dealership, the owner of the dealership. Ah. Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I could tell you off the air but I gotta keep my job.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I understand. I understand totally. It\u2019s America, and you gotta stay alive. I understand. Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But recently they\u2019ve had the health care people in, and they\u2019re making a bunch of things mandatory now. In order to lower the rates the health people told \u2019em that they can do that if they remove the Coke and candy machines from the building, ban smoking from the premises, and, you know, they make it a smoke free bunker, I guess, \u2019cause Hitler had one.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you could lower your health insurance, take Coke machines out, the candy machines out, and ban smoking from the premises?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Ban smoking from the premises. The people that smoke there have to go to a mandatory meeting this coming week, a smoking cessation meeting that\u2019s going to be put together by that health insurance company.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah?<\/p>\n

RUSH: People who smoke, even not at work —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — have to go to a cessation meeting?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Smoking cessation meeting that\u2019s been made mandatory.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Or else what?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Or else if you don\u2019t go to it you could lose your job. We don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen in that meeting —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, they smoke, but not at the workplace because they\u2019re not permitted?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They have to go to the cessation meeting. If they don\u2019t they lose their job. Is the insurance company threatening to raise rates on your owner of the dealership?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, they\u2019ve told them that this is the way that they can reduce rates or keep them down, and that\u2019s the purpose of these decisions. They have all these health fairs too, where we\u2019re not required to do this but they encourage us to go in and have our — which is okay in one way — but go in and have our blood pressure and blood sugar test and all that but that\u2019s for the health insurance company, too.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They haven\u2019t made that absolutely mandatory, but they also have a series of random drug tests where, you know, you never know, every couple of weeks you could get hauled in and you have to urinate in front of a stranger in order to keep your job.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The cessation meeting, now, nobody knows what\u2019s going to happen in this meeting, but the rumor is — and so far every rumor\u2019s come true — the rumor is that they\u2019re gonna test us for nicotine. Apparently some hospital\u2019s doing this someplace, and now we don\u2019t know that for a fact but I know I have to go to this meeting so I\u2019ve been, you know, identified as a smoker —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute, now. You do not have to smoke to ingest nicotine.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you don\u2019t. You can get Nicorette; you can put a patch on. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, I can chew tobacco.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You could get one of my e-cigarettes here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. <\/p>\n

RUSH: I mean you don\u2019t have to smoke to have nicotine in your system. My God, a nicotine test at a car dealership?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That I don\u2019t know to be true yet, okay? <\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s just rumored?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s the rumor but every rumor\u2019s come true so far, but I do know that I have to go to this meeting, it\u2019s mandatory. If you don\u2019t go you\u2019re subject to something. Whether I\u2019d get fired for not going to it or not I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Is this is a Volvo dealership?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

So if you work for Don Beyer Volvo in Falls Church and you\u2019re worried about nicotine tests coming, there\u2019s a website here. Don Beyer is a former lieutenant governor there, and he\u2019s now ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. He raised more than half a million dollars for Obama, so now he\u2019s the ambassador over there. Liechtenstein. That\u2019s one of the primary reasons there is a Liechtenstein.
