RUSH: ‘President Obama said that he is expecting Republicans to offer him more cooperation after November\u2019s elections, no matter the outcome,\u2019 and this is in the House organ, the New York Times. Now, only an authoritarian narcissist would say that the people swept into power must bow down to him. Republicans will have to offer Obama more cooperation? That\u2019s how he\u2019s looking at it. He\u2019s not looking at it, ‘You know what? The American people have rejected me, my policies. They\u2019ve elected these guys; I better work with these guys a little bit more.\u2019 That\u2019s what Clinton said, that\u2019s the rule of thumb in politics, but that\u2019s not what Obama\u2019s going to do, and he\u2019s admitting it here. It\u2019s up to the Republicans now to offer him more cooperation. <\/p>\n

‘In an hour-long interview with Times White House correspondent Peter Baker, Mr. Obama predicted that his political rivals will either be chastened by falling short of their electoral goals or burdened with the new responsibility that comes from achieving them.\u2019 You know, is Obama actually living in the White House or has he moved into Neverland Ranch? Has he taken over Michael Jackson\u2019s place? This is so unreal. He said, ‘It may be that regardless of what happens after this election, [the Republicans] feel more responsible, either because they didn\u2019t do as well as they anticipated, and so the strategy of just saying no to everything and sitting on the sidelines and throwing bombs didn\u2019t work for them. Or they did reasonably well, in which case the American people are going to be looking to them to offer serious proposals and work with me in a serious way.&rdquo;<\/line> <\/line>Now, the American people in November will be voting against Democrats, they will be voting against Obama, they\u2019ll be voting for Republicans because they don\u2019t want anyone working with Obama. They want working with Obama stopped! They want Obama\u2019s policies stopped! I mean this is not right. There\u2019s something psychologically not right here. The voters of this country want Obama stopped. They don\u2019t want Republicans working with him. The idea that Republicans win in a repudiation of Democrats means the voters want Republicans to finally get off the sidelines and work with Obama? What the voters will be saying is they want Republicans to get off the sidelines and stop this, do their best to stop it and then start repealing as much of this as possible. <\/line><\/p>\n

Now, when Clinton watched the Democrats get thumped in \u201994, what did he do? He said the era of big government is over. I know he said it, and for a while, a couple years later we got welfare reform. You know, Clinton saw the handwriting on the wall. Then the Lewinsky thing happened and the handwriting was on the wall pretty much. Clinton watched the Democrats get thumped, he says, ‘The era of big government is over.\u2019 Obama is predicting the American people and Republicans will cower before him after this victory and say, ‘Please, Mr. President, how can we move your immensely unpopular agenda forward? Okay, Mr. President, we, the Republicans, we finally won, we got some power, we know the American people now want us to work with you instead of the Democrats. What can we do to help you?\u2019 But then just last week Obama said if the Republicans win he told some group it would be hand-to-hand combat. Remember last week? He said it\u2019s gonna be hand-to-hand combat. Now he says what it means is the Republicans are going to have to work with him. <\/p>\n

Michael Shear, New York Times, writes: ‘The president\u2019s comments are reported in an in-depth assessment of Mr. Obama\u2019s first two years in office that appears in the Times Magazine this Sunday. In the article, which is based on interviews with nearly two dozen of the president\u2019s advisers in addition to the president himself, Mr. Baker offers a series of inside details about Mr. Obama\u2019s time in the White House, including: According to his wife, Michelle Obama, Mr. Obama is not particularly fond of the presidential retreat at Camp David. Mrs. Obama reports that her husband, a longtime resident of Chicago, is more at ease in an urban setting.\u2019 Let\u2019s see. Let\u2019s start tallying this up. The president doesn\u2019t like the Chamber of Commerce; he doesn\u2019t like Mother Nature \u2019cause that\u2019s where Camp David is; he doesn\u2019t like balanced budgets; he doesn\u2019t like low taxes; he doesn\u2019t like the American private sector; he doesn\u2019t like the oil industry; he doesn\u2019t like the drug industry; he doesn\u2019t like Big Tobacco; he doesn\u2019t like Big Auto; he doesn\u2019t like much that is considered traditionally American. He says he\u2019s the green president and yet he can\u2019t stand to be out there among natural beauty at Camp David. He\u2019s the green president, but don\u2019t get him anywhere near the actual chlorophyll, don\u2019t get him near the leaves. <\/p>\n

How does a man grow up in Hawaii and prefer an urban setting? I know, he\u2019s my cousin, I\u2019m supposed to have these answers. That\u2019s right, my friends, that\u2019s how this day began for your host. I awoke — in fact I\u2019m sitting here doing due diligence, show prep, and I get a text message from Kathryn that says: ‘What is this about you being related to Obama?\u2019 Said, ‘What are you talking about? You\u2019re more informed than I.\u2019 So I started scrounging around and I couldn\u2019t find anything. There was nothing on Drudge, nothing on TV, and finally I make the rounds, I got the New York Daily News website, and there it is. Not only am I related to Obama, so is Palin and George W. Bush. So I have a tenth cousin once removed living in a hut, as it turns out. I\u2019m supposed to be able to have the answers, he\u2019s part of my family, but, folks, I don\u2019t understand how you could be green and not want to be in the woods. All I know is he doesn\u2019t like much of what\u2019s American, that\u2019s admitted to in the Times magazine article. <\/p>\n

‘Pete Rouse, Mr. Obama\u2019s new chief of staff, bet the deputy chief of staff, Jim Messina, $400 that he would be gone from the White House by the end of this year. Mr. Messina predicted that Mr. Rouse would stay well beyond that date. Mr. Obama — unlike most of his senior staff — does not have an iPad. Asked why, he said: ‘Because I have an iReggie,\u2019 a reference to his,\u2019 body double, uh, ‘personal aide, Reggie Love.\u2019 Are you listening to this, Silicon Valley? The president\u2019s not interested in technology. I mean he\u2019s got his BlackBerry out there, but that\u2019s it, doesn\u2019t have an iPad.
