CALLER: Hello. Dittos, Rush, from Louisville.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, sir, I got paid last Friday — I\u2019m still working out here in this economy — and I just wanted to get your take on the Super Bowl pick. I\u2019d love to put a hundred dollars on anything you say, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re gonna put a hundred dollars on what I say to pick in the Super Bowl? I\u2019m not going to pick now.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, no way. I mean, you put money on my pick and then if it doesn\u2019t work out I\u2019m going to be getting calls from your lawyer and everybody else wanting to be paid because you\u2019re gonna blame me for it. You put me in an untenable position there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, that\u2019s a shame. Well, any thoughts at all? You called the Dennis Dixon thing. He\u2019s going to be your starting quarterback. I thought you knew your stuff there, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I do. I do, but you\u2019re trying to get me to break the law, maybe. I don\u2019t think you know that, but you\u2019re trying to get me to break the law here. You\u2019re gonna go out and invest a hundred bucks in what I say. Are you going to place this bet in Las Vegas or are you gonna call a bookie?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, see? (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. Well, Rush, I just wanted your take. I hope I see you in heaven one day and we can share a cigar together.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Anything\u2019s possible. Who do you think is going to be in the Super Bowl? Who do you think?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I think you gotta go with the Vikings. I mean they\u2019re returning Favre. If he can just stay healthy, I think they were close last year, I think they\u2019re gonna come back and win it this year myself.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. What about the AFC? <\/p>\n

CALLER: The AFC is pretty wide open, wouldn\u2019t you say?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, the NFC is pretty wide open, too.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. True.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Nobody\u2019s won a game yet; nobody\u2019s lost one.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, I hear you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What about the Jets? The Jets got Rivas back.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. Well, I mean in a second-year quarterback like Rivas — or Sanchez —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Sanchez?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, the purpose having a Rivas is so you don\u2019t have to depend on your second-year quarterback.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. All I can tell you is I\u2019m excited. Snerdley, do you realize last night, last night was Monday, right? Last night was the last Monday night without NFL football until January? I haven\u2019t even thought about who\u2019s gonna win the conference championships or be in the Super Bowl. (interruption) Who do I think is gonna start off with the biggest bang this year? Let me think about that. You know, it\u2019s only Tuesday. The season starts on Thursday with Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre against the Saints in the Superdome on Thursday night. Then Sunday it kicks off big time, Sunday night. I\u2019ll tell you, the Monday night game, the Jets and the Ravens is — hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo — double-header on Monday night, the Jets and Ravens and then the Chargers and Chiefs in Kansas City. Dallas and Washington on Sunday night. Thursday night Brett Favre Brett Favre Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings. I don\u2019t know, let me think about it, Snerdley, I\u2019m just excited the season is starting.
