RUSH: Denver, John. It\u2019s not a question about Tim Tebow and his injured ribs and whether he\u2019s going to play in the next preseason game. Welcome to the program, John. How are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Doing well, and yourself?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine, sir, thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s cool. This is an honor, man, I never thought I\u2019d be able to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is a good caller because he doesn\u2019t know how I feel, and is not telling you how I feel. He\u2019s asking me.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Sure.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s very good of you. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. Hey, I was wondering, what do you do think about Barack Obama personally? We all know where you stand on him politically, but what do you think about him personally? I remember when you used to talk about Clinton you used to say he\u2019s a great guy to go have a beer with but you never agreed with his politics.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, Obama doesn\u2019t strike me as a guy you\u2019d want to go out, have a beer with and chase women after a game, like you would with Clinton.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Obama strikes me personally as a guy who has been covered for all his life. He\u2019s been told that he\u2019s the smartest guy in every room. He\u2019s never had to work really hard for what he\u2019s got because he\u2019s always had a way paved for him for obvious reasons. He thinks he\u2019s much smarter than he is, much more worldly than he is. He\u2019s arrogant. I think he tends to be condescending toward people he thinks are not smart as he is. And I think it\u2019s very typical of people like that, he\u2019s real-world ignorant.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Huh. That makes sense.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t think there\u2019s much common sense to Obama. I think pure theory, faculty room chitchat is what has created Obama\u2019s philosophy, life experience, and so forth.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Sure.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But personally beyond that, I mean I don\u2019t know him. I\u2019ve never met him.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All I know is the people who know him best are taking polls out there of the American people asking if they think he\u2019s a Muslim or not.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You have a thought on that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Whether he\u2019s Muslim or not?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I really don\u2019t know. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you care?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. I just know he\u2019s not good for the country so it doesn\u2019t bother me what religion he is.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Exactly, I don\u2019t care, either, I\u2019m more concerned that he\u2019s destroying the economy than what his religion is or isn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, sure, sure. If I could I\u2019d work in construction. I actually fix construction equipment and we lost a lot of business for that just because all the construction died. All the housing development went away shortly after he went into office.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, talk to the people in the oil business in the Gulf.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. Yeah. I work for a few of those people, too. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Talk to the people in the housing business. Thank you Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Financial market. John, thanks for the call. <\/p>\n

Let\u2019s go to audio sound bite number five. This is a classic illustration. We\u2019re told, and we were told all through the campaign there\u2019s never been a guy like Obama in our politics, right? Clean, articulate, never anybody smarter, never anybody better able to unite people, we\u2019ve never had anybody like this, smart as a whip, this guy is so smart we can\u2019t keep up with him. Margaret Carlson actually said that the reason he\u2019s in trouble is we just can\u2019t keep up, he\u2019s got to slow down for us. We\u2019re so pedestrian that we can\u2019t see the big picture on the Ground Zero mosque. Obama\u2019s gotta understand that and then slow it down, okay? So let\u2019s go to Joe Scarborough\u2019s fledgling show today on MSNBC where he had Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson. Eugene Robinson said Bush needs to come out and save Obama on the mosque business \u2019cause Obama is so smart, he\u2019s so far ahead of us, he needs Bush to come out and endorse it so that the people will understand. Yeah, he wrote a column that Bush needed to help Obama. <\/p>\n

His latest column is about the stunning successes of Obama. I kid you not. His current column is about Obama\u2019s stunning successes. We\u2019re right on track, folks. Now, keep this all in mind as you listen to this sound bite. Eugene Robinson was asked a question by Scarborough, ‘Obama\u2019s not a good communicator. He can\u2019t boil issues down to their essence like Reagan. Not even close.\u2019 That\u2019s Scarborough. Now, you would think that Eugene would say, ‘The hell you say. He\u2019s the smartest guy in the room. What do you mean? He\u2019s the greatest communicator we\u2019ve ever had. He can use a Negro dialect when he wants to, Harry Reid said so.\u2019 Eugene Robinson should be insulted here. We\u2019ve been told the guy\u2019s the smartest, the best, the brightest light. Listen to Eugene Robinson\u2019s answer.<\/p>\n

ROBINSON: I actually think he is a great communicator. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s a matter of overexposure. It\u2019s a matter of impact. It could something as simple but difficult to pull off as Barack Obama finding his Peggy Noonan, the person who knows his voice better than he does, and who\u2019s able to craft those sorts of simple expressions that really get through and that communicate emotion as well as content.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So what Obama needs is a speechwriter. Obama needs somebody who knows his voice better than he does, but yet Obama\u2019s the best, I thought, Eugene? I thought Obama\u2019s smarter, brighter, wizard-like. Post this, post that, postmodern, post partisan, post-racial, post- yet he needs a woman to come write his speeches, to craft simple expressions that really get through? He\u2019s just way too above the crowd. So Obama for all his brilliance can\u2019t communicate now. His own supporters, a column today recounting all of Obama\u2019s successes. Now, another thing, this business that Reagan couldn\u2019t tie his shoes without Peggy Noonan or Michael Deaver or any of these other people is a myth that needs to be shot down. These guys, not only do they not really understand Obama, they don\u2019t understand Reagan. They think Reagan was a dunce, amiable, likable dunce, all about speechwriting. It is Obama that can\u2019t tie his shoes without a teleprompter, folks.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: I promised I was going to play this sound bite, so we\u2019re gonna play it within the context that Obama\u2019s the smartest guy we\u2019ve ever had, the most brilliant, he\u2019s so smart we can\u2019t keep up with him. We can\u2019t. Charlie Rose and Tom Brokaw, October 30, 2008, right before the election. <\/p>\n

ROSE: I don\u2019t know what Barack Obama\u2019s worldview is.<\/line> <\/line>BROKAW: No, I don\u2019t either.<\/line> <\/line>ROSE: I don\u2019t know how he really sees where China is.<\/line> <\/line>BROKAW: We don\u2019t know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.<\/line> <\/line>ROSE: I don\u2019t really know. And do we know anything about the people who are advising him?<\/line> <\/line>BROKAW: You know, it\u2019s an interesting question.<\/line> <\/line>ROSE: He\u2019s principally known through his autobiography and through very aspirational speeches.<\/line> <\/line>BROKAW: Two of them. Now, I don\u2019t know what books he\u2019s read.<\/line> <\/line>ROSE: What do we know about the heroes of Barack Obama?<\/line> <\/line>BROKAW: There\u2019s a lot about him we don\u2019t know.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Vote for him Tuesday. Vote for him, we don\u2019t know a damn thing about him, vote for him. <\/p>\n

Quickly, Tucson, Arizona, this is Van. I have about a minute 45 seconds. I wanted to get to you. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Listen, I don\u2019t want to be a total sycophant here, but your response to the organizer in Canada was on the north side of brilliant.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much. I appreciate that, really do.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The easiest thing in the world is to calculate the number of lives touched by the Porkulus plan.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s roughly 310 million.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Because every damn one of us will be paying for this until we\u2019re long over the last horizon.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) Exactly. Not only lives touched, lives destroyed.<\/p>\n
