RUSH: I saw this yesterday afternoon and last night. The headline intrigued me. I read it and I started laughing out loud. ‘Fidel Castro Fascinated by Book on Bilderberg Club.\u2019 This is from the Associated Press: ‘Fidel Castro is showcasing a theory long popular both among the far left and far right: that the shadowy Bilderberg Group has become a kind of global government, controlling not only international politics and economics, but even culture. The 84-year-old former Cuban president published an article Wednesday that used three of the only eight pages in the Communist Party newspaper Granma to quote — largely verbatim — from a 2006 book by Lithuanian-born writer Daniel Estulin. Estulin\u2019s work, ‘The Secrets of the Bilderberg Club,\u2019 argues that the international group largely runs the world. It has held a secretive annual forum of prominent politicians, thinkers and businessmen since it was founded in 1954 at the Bilderberg Hotel in Holland.\u2019<\/p>\n

This gets better. (laughing) They run the world, and they didn\u2019t tell Castro. He\u2019s just learning it here at 84 and he finds it fascinating. ‘Castro offered no comment on the excerpts other than to describe Estulin as honest and well-informed and to call his book a ‘fantastic story.\u2019 Estulin\u2019s book, as quoted by Castro, described ‘sinister cliques and the Bilderberg lobbyists\u2019 manipulating the public ‘to install a world government that knows no borders and is not accountable to anyone but its own self.\u2019 The Bilderberg group\u2019s website says its members have ‘nearly three days of informal and off-the-record discussion about topics of current concern\u2019 once a year, but the group does nothing else.\u2019 So they get together three days a year and control the world. They\u2019ve been doing it since 1954 and Fidel has never been invited. He\u2019s just learning of this at age 84, after he retires. <\/p>\n

‘The prominence of the group is what alarms critics. It often includes members of the Rockefeller family, Henry Kissinger, senior U.S. and European officials and major international business and media executives. The excerpt published by Castro suggested that the esoteric Frankfurt School of socialist academics worked with members of the Rockefeller family in the 1950s to pave the way for rock music to ‘control the masses\u2019 by diverting attention from civil rights and social injustice. ‘The man charged with ensuring that the Americans liked the Beatles was Walter Lippmann himself,\u2019 the excerpt asserted, referring to a political philosopher and by-then-staid newspaper columnist who died in 1974. ‘In the United States and Europe, great open-air rock concerts were used to halt the growing discontent of the population,” on civil rights and social injustice. <\/p>\n

Now, it seems to me that the Beatles were part of the civil rights and social unrest. It seems to me that the Civil Rights Act of 1964, \u201965 was passed right in the middle of the Beatles\u2019 arrival on the scene. I can tell you that I became a Beatles fan, what, would have been age ten, 11? I never heard of Walter Lippmann then, so he wasn\u2019t responsible for me. Well, yeah, Ed Sullivan may have been a Bilderberger for all I know now. Ed Sullivan might have been part of the conspiracy. So the Beatles were created by the Bilderberg club. Castro believes this. Bilderberg created the Beatles in order to distract us from social unrest. Let\u2019s see, what else? ‘Castro — who had an inside seat to the Cold War,\u2019 but had no idea the Bilderbergs were controlling things ‘has long expressed suspicions of back-room plots. He has raised questions about whether the Sept. 11 attacks –‘ This is a serious story. I\u2019m laughing myself silly last night reading this. It\u2019s one of the reasons I was willing to come in today. This week has been a hell week for me, and I was — well, I wasn\u2019t going to call in sick, I don\u2019t do that, but when I saw this story, I got renewed. ‘I gotta come in here today.\u2019 <\/p>\n

They had a conspiracy, they didn\u2019t tell Fidel about it, and he\u2019s only learning about it now when he\u2019s retired and can\u2019t join it and do anything about it. Walter Lippmann created the Beatles to distract people. Not only that, the Bilderbergs created feminism to get men and women at war with one another to distract us while they destroyed world economies. That did work. (laughing) That one worked but this Beatle thing, I\u2019m not buying it. And it says here Castro ‘long expressed suspicions of back-room plots. He has raised questions about whether the Sept. 11 attacks were orchestrated by the U.S. government to stoke military budgets and, more recently suggested that Washington was behind the March sinking of a South Korean ship blamed on North Korea. Estulin\u2019s own website suggests that the 9\/11 attacks were likely caused by small nuclear devices, and that the CIA and drug traffickers were behind the 1988 downing of a jetliner over Lockerbie, Scotland, that was blamed on Libya. The Bilderberg conspiracy theory has been popular on both extremes of the ideological spectrum, even if they disagree on just what the group wants to do. Leftists accuse the group of promoting capitalist domination, while some right-wing websites argue that the Bilderberg club has imposed Barack Obama on the United States to advance socialism. Some of Estulin\u2019s work builds on reports by Big Jim Tucker, a researcher on the Bilderberg Group who publishes on right-wing websites.\u2019<\/line> <\/line>Folks, from the very first day, back in Kansas City, when I uttered my first political comment on the radio, I was set upon by these conspiracy people. Oh-ho-ho-ho yes. They no longer bother with me. (interruption) I\u2019ve never been to a Bilderberg meeting, Snerdley. No. I\u2019ve never been to the Socialists International. I\u2019ve never been to a CFR meeting or Trilateralist Commission meeting. Remember, I\u2019m the guy that came up with the kook test. Yeah, the kook test was to distract people from me being part of the conspiracy. Yeah. Remember one of the questions on the kook test? (laughing) If trilateralist A is driving west at 60 miles an hour and the Council on Foreign Relations member B is driving east at 40 miles an hour, how long does it take for both of them to take over the world?<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Since Castro\u2019s brought this up, there\u2019s one thing about the Beatles. You may have forgotten this, but I fascinated with radio even before I got into it, and I know this stuff. Capital Records refused to distribute Beatles records for a year in this country. You know, EMI was a Beatles record company, and Capital was their American counterpart, they would not play. The Beatles were huge in the UK for a year. The Beatles could not get Capital Records (EMI was the distributor here) to release their records in the United States. It took \u2019em a year, and the first song that Capital finally agreed to distribute — do you know what it was? It was I Want to Hold Your Hand, was the first record the Beatles had released here. (interruption)<\/p>\n

You got a non-Capital label version? Snerdley, has a non-Capital label version. You know what the B side was? (interruption) The B side was I Saw Her Standing There. And I\u2019ll tell you why I remembered that, because there was on Channel 6 in Paducah, Kentucky, that had this little five o\u2019clock Friday afternoon dance party show. I\u2019d watch it \u2019cause I wanted to hear the music, and they played I Saw Her Standing There, and I wrote a letter. Bob Swisher was the host. I was 12. I wrote the most vicious, insulting letter. ‘You stupid idiots! Don\u2019t you know the A side of that record is I Want to Hold Your Hand?\u2019 I mean, it was insulting for a 12-year-old \u2019cause they played I Saw Her Standing There. It was a long time… <\/p>\n

It must have been Walter Lippmann that persuaded Capital Records to finally release Beatles tunes in this country, because that\u2019s the Bilderberger story because Walter Lippmann is what it took because Capital sat on the Beatles for a full year after they\u2019d become huge in the UK. Now, here\u2019s the Bilderberger explanation for John Lennon\u2019s assassination. Quote: ‘On December 8 of 1980, under a full moon night, John Lennon was shot dead by a man named Mark Chapman. It is quite unlikely that we could some day get to know whether Mark Chapman was a victim of an artificially induced model psychosis, a murderer like the ‘Manchu candidate\u2019 sent by Tavistock, the CIA and the MI6 to silence Lennon, who turned out to be ever more difficult to control.\u2019 <\/p>\n

That\u2019s the Bilderberg theory. (interruption) Swan was the non-Capital label. Is that the label you have? That\u2019s the label Snerdley has. The Capital label was yellow and orange. We had the 45rpm. We had the album as well. Swan is a tiny, black label. That\u2019s what you have? (interruption) Yeah, that\u2019s what you\u2019ve got — and to this day, just to add to this, to this day iTunes refuses to take the Beatles. You cannot buy Beatles tunes on iTunes. (interruption) No, they haven\u2019t settled that. (interruption) No, they haven\u2019t settled that! Yoko won\u2019t go anywhere near iTunes. If they settled then it has to be in the last week. You can\u2019t find Beatles music on iTunes. The Beatles are still being shut out. Jobs can\u2019t get \u2019em or Jobs won\u2019t let \u2019em in. No, Jobs wants \u2019em and Apple Records won\u2019t go to iTunes. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I gotta tell you I\u2019m on the same page with you with most things, but I think you\u2019re really hard on these people you call conspiracy theorists. If you look at somebody like Henry Paulson from the Federal Reserve, I feel like he duped us two Novembers ago or Septembers ago. George Soros, a guy with money, he\u2019s got a plan and you say that he\u2019s directing things. How much more would international bankers ban together to do this? It may be un-provable, but I think to make people out to be idiots is to alienate a large segment —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — of your listening audience.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What a minute! Who made \u2019em out idiots? What are you referring to?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m saying that groups like the Trilateral Commission, Bilderberg (sic), Rhodes roundtable, these groups I don\u2019t find it plausible that they would be banding together to take and cover their interests just like OPEC does theirs. So why is this one group singled out to be kooks?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uhhh, who?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t think that\u2019s fair, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Who said the Bilderbergers were kooks?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I\u2019m saying the people that think they exist, you make them out to be —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No I did not.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — if they say they are influencing, you say they gotta be kooks to say that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The Bilderbergers exist. No, wait a second a second. The Bilderbergers exist. I\u2019ve seen pictures. I know their convention. You missed the point. My point was that Fidel Castro, who was knee-deep in the Cold War, is 84 years old and he\u2019s just finding out about it. I mean, there\u2019s a ‘world conspiracy\u2019 going on, and nobody told him!<\/p>\n
