RUSH: Here is Steve in Long Island. Great to have you on the program, sir. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you very much, Mr. Limbaugh, and thank you to your team for taking my call. <\/p>\n

RUSH: You bet. <\/p>\n

CALLER: How are you today? <\/p>\n

RUSH: Very well, thank you. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Great. I beg to differ with you on your listening numbers, your audience. You recently became number one in India, which nearly has a billion people and largest democracy in the world. So, certainly that is one for the books. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s an interesting point that you bring, sir. I have to thank you for reminding me of that. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you did it all by speaking the truth, which is remarkable — and maybe not.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What he is talking about folks, there was a story in the media not long ago. In India, the only people left on the radio there are Rush Limbaugh types. <\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: There was one liberal in India left. The rest are Rush Limbaugh types. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, let\u2019s hold out hope. You will convert him too I\u2019m sure. But I just quickly wanted to say — and I only say this to add credence to what you\u2019re saying. My uncle was friends with Ira Hayes, who raised a flag on Iwo Jima.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And Manila John who was at Guadalcanal, another Congressional Medal of Honor winner. This chatter about we should apologize for the Hiroshima bomb. After we soundly defeated Germany, Japan, and Italy, we captured their archive.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What do you mean we should apologize for dropping the A bomb? We already do. <\/p>\n

CALLER: No. They — <\/p>\n

RUSH: When I was living in Sacramento in the mid \u201980s, there would be delegation from the city that went over there and apologized. (sobbing) ‘Please forgive us! We didn\u2019t mean to do it!\u2019 The mayor… I think her name was Anne Rudin if I\u2019m not mistaken. Anne Rudin was the mayor. She might have gone or some emissary from the mayor\u2019s office in Sacramento went over there. It was a routine thing. The Bay Area sent some people over every August to apologize. (sobbing) ‘Forgive us, we didn\u2019t mean to do it!\u2019 and I would say, ‘Yes, we did. We sure as heck meant to do it.\u2019 Obama sent an official delegation to Japan this year. It\u2019s the first time ever that has happened. I think the administration said, ‘We\u2019re not going to apologize,\u2019 yet.
