RUSH: John Kasich. We have two sound bites. Did you see Kasich? He stood last night, he was in a field at a forked road, and it was gravel, gravel forked road. It was to look, I guess, like the V-shaped recovery that Trump keeps talking about. We\u2019ve had the plunge on the left and then the massive recovery on the right.<\/p>\n

And, by the way, I think if I were you, I would prepare yourself for massively good economic recovery news next month and into October. I think the economy is actually beginning to really percolate and roar back. There\u2019s hard evidence for it. The fact the Drive-Bys are not talking about it is added evidence. Now, Kasich spoke last night. First sound bite number 10. He\u2019s standing there in a rural area at a fork in the road. He\u2019s standing at the fork on the gravel road and here\u2019s a part of what he said.<\/p>\n

KASICH: America is at that crossroads today. I\u2019m sure there are Republicans and independents who couldn\u2019t imagine crossing over to support a Democrat. They fear Joe may turn sharp left and leave them behind. I don\u2019t believe that because I know the measure of the man. He\u2019s reasonable, faithful, respectful. And you know, no one pushes Joe around.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is embarrassing. Joe isn\u2019t Joe anymore, John. The question really is, what has happened to you? You know, you were against Trump as the governor of Ohio and you didn\u2019t influence anybody to vote against him. And now you\u2019re out leading a Never Trump effort again by posing at a fork in the road, in a gravel road and trying to assure everybody that Joe isn\u2019t gonna turn — John, do you not realize that party\u2019s already done a sharp left?<\/p>\n

What do you think\u2019s happening in Portland? What do you think\u2019s happening in Seattle? What do you think was happening in New York? What do you think these people, these Democrats that you love keeping the economy in New York and California purposely on lockdown to damage the economy nationwide just to get rid of Trump? Your dad was a mailman. People like your dad are getting hurt. Now your dad\u2019s truck may be in a cage. You might want to look into that.<\/p>\n

So today, Kasich was on CNN talking to John King. And he doesn\u2019t understand why Republicans have a problem with him endorsing Biden.<\/p>\n

KASICH: Tell me why, what is it that you don\u2019t like about what I had to say last night? Do you not like the fact that I said that we need to come together, that big things in America get accomplished when we all work together?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, John.<\/p>\n

KASICH: What is it specifically that you don\u2019t like?<\/p>\n

RUSH: John.<\/p>\n

KASICH: You\u2019re kind of dumbfounded to answer that in many ways. I\u2019m not saying everybody, but many people —<\/p>\n

RUSH: John.<\/p>\n

KASICH: — just cast aspersions, which is fine.<\/p>\n

RUSH: John, there\u2019s no coming together. They\u2019re not interested in coming together. You\u2019re antiquating yourself here by talking like this. America, you get things accomplished when we all work together. They have no desire to work together.<\/p>\n

RUSH: John in Andover, Massachusetts. I\u2019m glad you waited. It\u2019s great to have you, sir. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush. Thank you for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You bet, sir!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, my family loves the president and you, Rush, so thanks for providing a great service for the country. Hey, last night was an absolute snooze fest, and I don\u2019t think you can be a conservative like John Kasich and speak at the Democratic convention. So I think Ohio just went to Trump. But I think the real… I think this is really about the pancakes. Do you remember when Trump made fun of John Kasich eating the pancakes, and he said that — his quote was — Trump said, “I\u2019ve never seen a human being eat in such a disgusting fashion”? Do you remember that?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I do not. I\u2019m sorry, I don\u2019t. Trump made fun of the way Kasich eats pancakes?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. He said he\u2019d never seen anyone eat so much in his life, in such a disgusting way.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you know, his dad\u2019s a mailman. They use a lot of the energy out there. I\u2019m sure Kasich inherited that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. But look it up. I don\u2019t think he ever forgave him for that, and it was so funny.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you think Kasich is that petty and small-minded that he would carry a grudge over Trump making fun of the way he eats pancakes?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, I do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wow.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think he always held a grudge against him on that. And that really, to me, was the first I really saw Trump\u2019s humor. When Trump said that, it just really made me think, wow, this guy has it. He\u2019s making fun of people. And John Kasich I don\u2019t think could ever take it after that. I think he just had complete meltdowns. And I think last night was the ultimate meltdown for him.<\/p>\n
