RUSH: Yeah, now normally I wouldn\u2019t make a big deal out of it, but this time I think we might have to make an exception out there because this result — remember, last week, last week I was talking about what it\u2019s gonna take to keep Biden hidden, or what the Democrats need to keep him hidden in the basement. They don\u2019t want Biden coming out. They don\u2019t want things to happen that would force Biden to come out. And that thing that might force Biden to come out has just happened.<\/p>\n

\"\"It is the week of the virtual Democrat convention. Oh, man, are we going to have fun. Bernie Sanders is already out there claiming it\u2019s his convention. He\u2019s already claiming that when Biden\u2019s elected, that he is gonna be stepping in and running the show. They just can\u2019t get the guy to shut up. He\u2019s giving it all away. Oh, man, am I looking forward to this, folks. This is gonna be one of those weeks.<\/p>\n

You know, when I say something, there\u2019s nothing left to say and nothing left to be said. And this is gonna be one of those thorough weeks. We\u2019re gonna cover everything.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: So, I will delve into this further as the program unfolds before your very eyes.<\/p>\n

The big news today is the Democrat convention kicks off today. CNN has a poll, and, in this poll, Biden\u2019s lead has shrunk by double digits. This was only predictable. You know, when you get closer to the election, all these polling units have to have credibility. So there are periods during polling where they\u2019re trying to shape public opinion by releasing bogus results, which is what we\u2019ve been dealing with up \u2019til now.<\/p>\n

They make it look like Trump\u2019s gonna get beat in a landslide. So, you Trump voters are supposed to get all depressed. You\u2019re supposed to think it\u2019s over. You\u2019re supposed to lose your enthusiasm, and you\u2019re supposed to think, “Trump blew it \u2019cause he won\u2019t stop tweeting.” You\u2019re supposed fall for all the criticism, and you are supposed to just say, “You know what? We can\u2019t win.<\/p>\n

“We can\u2019t beat the media. We can\u2019t beat the Democrats. The hell with it,” and you\u2019re supposed to go away. Now we\u2019ve gotten to the point where reputations are on the line and where results of the polls are gonna matter in terms of the credibility of the polling units. So this new poll from CNN says that Bite Me\u2019s massive lead over Trump has evaporated in the last two months.<\/p>\n

\"\"By the way, it didn\u2019t just evaporate over one poll. It didn\u2019t just evaporate overnight. Like they say, it\u2019s been evaporating over the last two months. Have you gotten the impression in the reporting in the last two months that Biden was losing support? No! They\u2019ve been telling you Biden\u2019s gaining support. They\u2019ve been telling you Biden\u2019s running the table.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve been telling you Biden\u2019s winning everything: Swing states, swing districts, swing precincts. They\u2019ve been telling you Biden\u2019s up by 10, he\u2019s up by eight, he\u2019s up by 12. They\u2019ve been telling you Trump has no prayer, no chance. And all of a sudden now is Biden\u2019s lead\u2019s evaporated in the past two months?<\/p>\n

Two months ago, CNN said that Bite Me was up by 14 points. Now CNN says Bite Me is up by four? Trump has gained 10 points and Bite Me\u2019s up by four? It\u2019s barely outside the margin of error, which is 3.7%! Across 15 battleground states, Bite Me\u2019s lead is only one point. Oh-ho! Battleground states? This is where Biden was really cleaning up!<\/p>\n

Just last week, he was up by 10, he was up by 12, he was up by eight. It was so bad; it was over for Trump. Trump may as well — and then we got stories, “Trump looking for a way to quit! Trump looking for a way out. Trump looking for a way to not have to do debates \u2019cause Trump\u2019s gonna lose,” all of that. Just last week, and now Trump is within four points?<\/p>\n

CNN\u2019s poll was conducted entirely after he picked Kamala. She is not helping him with the African-American vote. Wait \u2019til you hear about this. But there\u2019s much more to this that you need to hear and know in terms of analysis. It\u2019s coming right up, so don\u2019t go anywhere.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, here\u2019s the point about this poll. The CNN poll… I told you last week, they need to keep Trump and his approval number at 45 or less. That\u2019s what permits Biden to stay hidden in the basement. But this poll that has Trump only down four and within the margin of error — just outside the margin of error — and much closer in swing states like one point?<\/p>\n

I think this means Biden\u2019s gonna have to come out now prior to your and Harris, and that\u2019s not going to go well, unless they are sandbagging us, unless Biden is faking having some Alzheimer\u2019s-like episodes or whatever. The problem is, they have no alternative.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I do believe that Trump\u2019s daily press conferences he\u2019s having, the COVID-19 — reviving them, bringing them back to life — it\u2019s all a factor. It\u2019s all part of Trump\u2019s gaining ground. But I actually don\u2019t believe he\u2019d lost that much ground. See, this is why I don\u2019t fall for the fact that Trump was 14 points behind. You telling me that a week\u2019s worth of press conferences can bring him back from 14 to four?<\/p>\n

Maybe, but I — and then other things, too, that they want to chalk this up to. I just don\u2019t believe Trump was ever that far, especially in these swing districts or whatever they\u2019re calling these toss-up states in these places that Trump barely won over Hillary. Look, folks, here\u2019s the point. I said last week that Biden has got to keep, somehow, Trump\u2019s approval number — the media — at 45% or below. This CNN poll with Trump down only four changes everything.<\/p>\n

\"\"This may force Biden to come out. It\u2019s the last thing that they wanted. They\u2019re gonna have to do something to reverse this. Harris is the same way. They\u2019re gonna have to… I think they\u2019re looking at owning this week virtually. But the Trump team is gonna have a nightly recap in the Democrat convention. Is that not gonna be great?<\/p>\n

The Democrats are gonna do their convention, gonna do a virtual convention, and then when it\u2019s over event, Trump and the gang are gonna co-opt all the bandwidth they can, and they are going to have a recap, and it\u2019s gonna be a blast. You just wait. Their problem is no alternative. Because in polling data right now, the country has a 51% support of Trump\u2019s handling of the virus.<\/p>\n

Fifty-one percent agree with Trump\u2019s vision for handling the virus, and a similar number on getting back to school. A similar number on Trump supporting the economy. People think Trump is better suited on all of these things — dealing with the virus, getting schools reopened, getting the economy back up and running. In fact, there\u2019s even a major support for Trump\u2019s reaction to rioting and other issues.<\/p>\n

You know, Durham and the indictment of — the plea deal with — Kevin Clinesmith, foreign policy<\/a>. All these things are helping Trump right now. So when Trump allows the attorney general, William Barr; and Mike Pompeo, the secretary of state; Betsy DeVos at education; and this great guy, Scott Atlas. When they let… Oh, do the media hate this guy. Oh, they hate Scott Atlas. Oh, man.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re scared of him because Scott Atlas is the exact 180-degree position from them on the virus. Oh, and there\u2019s something else here, folks. The governor of Minnesota, I believe, is very quietly here coming out in support of hydroxychloroquine. Let me find this. It\u2019s a quiet story. It\u2019s being kept very quiet, and I think… Yes.<\/p>\n

Another Democrat “quietly reverses the ban on hydroxychloroquine.” “Minnesota governor quietly reverses course on hydroxychloroquine.”<\/a> (gasping) Oh, no. And Scott Atlas has been all the way on the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine. When this governor, when the Minnesota governor quietly reverses course on this… And here\u2019s… You want another little interesting just little tidbit of information?<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve heard of the country of Uganda, and the reason you probably have heard of Uganda is because they once had a murderous madman running the show there named Idi Amin Dada, and there were many movies made of Idi Amin Dada. In his own Jeep, he drove around just assassinating people. He was a big guy, just ran around pointing guns, automatic weapons, and shooting people.<\/p>\n

\"\"Bad guy. Uganda has 42 million people. That\u2019s its population. Idi Amin Dada didn\u2019t quite wipe them all out. Hydroxychloroquine is used every day and all the time in Uganda for malaria. There are lots of mosquitoes in Uganda right there in the middle of Africa, and they have huge malaria problem spread by mosquitos. So hydroxychloroquine is used liberally.<\/p>\n

Do you know how many deaths have occurred in Uganda since the pandemic began? Try 13 — 13 deaths in Uganda — and they use hydroxychloroquine liberally for malaria, which is what it was invented for and which is what it was tested for. They\u2019ve had 1,500 coronavirus cases in Uganda — 13 deaths, and 1,142 people have recovered — in large part because of hydroxychloroquine.<\/p>\n

So, my friends, Our Lady of Perpetual Hysteria, Nancy Pelosi, is in panic now. They\u2019re trying to make the post office now the focus of Trump stealing the election. ‘Cause they\u2019ve got some video of some people moving a couple of post office boxes, which, of course, is a federal violation, and they\u2019re trying to claim the Trump campaign\u2019s ordering people out there to make this happen.<\/p>\n

But I\u2019m just… This one move from being down 10 points in the CNN poll to four points changes everything, particularly now on the week, during the week of the Democrat convention.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: The Democrat National Convention kicks off. Chris Wallace was on Fox over the weekend. It might have been last Friday. Anyway, Chris Wallace is stunned. He\u2019s never seen this before. Damnedest thing I\u2019ve ever seen. He said Biden is trying to hide from everybody all the way through Election Day. He said he\u2019s done conventions, he\u2019s been covering conventions since 1988.<\/p>\n

You know what? That\u2019s the year this program began. Chris Wallace has been covering Democrat conventions — well, political conventions for as long as I have been behind the Golden EIB Microphone. He said this is the first time in his career that a political candidate, a nominee, has not done an interview with major media the day before his party\u2019s convention is to begin.<\/p>\n

\"\"He said: “So I\u2019ve been doing Sunday shows with conventions. I started on Meet the Press in 1988. I\u2019ve been doing it on and off. Thirty two years. And it always happens that the Sunday before the convention. The campaign puts out top officials to preview the convention and to say this is what we\u2019re gonna try to get accomplished. So, you know, we put counting all week on, you know, having a top official from the Biden campaign, the campaign manager, the top pollster, the chief strategist.” Those are the people that you get. They come on, they talk about what they\u2019re gonna talk about during the week, and they set it up. They\u2019re not putting anybody out.<\/p>\n

The Biden campaign put nobody out yesterday or today, including the candidate. And Wallace said, “Well, maybe it\u2019s \u2019cause we\u2019re Fox News and they hate Fox News.” And then he said, “No, it\u2019s not that because they\u2019re not putting \u2019em anywhere. They\u2019re not putting anybody out on any of the Sunday shows yesterday.<\/p>\n

Chris Wallace says, “I don\u2019t understand what\u2019s going on here. This is the damnedest thing I\u2019ve ever seen, that you would, you know, you\u2019re basically giving a campaign. And as I say, it\u2019s a traditional thing. We\u2019re gonna do it for the Republicans a week from Sunday.”<\/p>\n

The Biden campaign isn\u2019t putting anybody out. Anybody want to take a guess why? Now, there\u2019s all kinds of reasons why, but they\u2019re not confident, basically. I\u2019m telling you, folks, everything you\u2019ve heard up to now about Biden being up 10, 12, 13, eight points, whatever, throw it away. It was never accurate. It was never true. And the fact that they are very reluctant and recalcitrant and they don\u2019t want to take advantage of promoting their convention – on the friendly networks, ABC, CBS, NBC, they\u2019re not going there either.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
