CALLER: Yeah, hello. Hey, I was just wondering if you\u2019ve heard — I\u2019m a truck driver — and I was wondering if you heard anything about the new regulations regarding truck drivers.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, specifically, no. What are they?<\/p>\n

CALLER: All right, well, I\u2019ve been hearing from a lot of my colleagues and from companies about regulations regarding truck drivers\u2019 weight and just a lot of regulations coming down which is gonna cost a lot of us our jobs.<\/p>\n

RUSH: A lot more jobs. Already a lot of truckers are out of work.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I know. Luckily I work for a company that has been able to keep me busy and working throughout the entire recession here.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What are you trafficking in illegal immigrants?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Excuse me?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m sorry. Just a joke. You said your business was thriving, and I just wondered if you\u2019re trafficking in illegal immigrants. My bad. I\u2019m sorry about that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) No, no. I work for a company that specializes in cross border transportation.<\/p>\n

RUSH: In cross border — well, I was close! (laughing) <\/p>\n

CALLER: I run in and out of Canada.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, oh, oh. (laughing) Even when I\u2019m joking, even when I\u2019m making a joke, look how close to accurate I am.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. I\u2019ve been hearing about these new regulations regarding a truck driver\u2019s weight, sleep apnea they\u2019re really cracking down on —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second. Wait a second. Regulations on truckers\u2019 weight, you mean like their body mass index and that kind of thing?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why? Don\u2019t tell me the trucker\u2019s weight is gonna be factored into fuel expense?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. No, no. For the health of the truck driver. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, the only thing we need to know is, are they going to take the greenies away from you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: If I lose my job for being overweight, yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) No. Yeah, well, the point is with the greenies you can\u2019t possibly be overweight.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s an inside joke. He knows what I\u2019m talking about but he doesn\u2019t want to comment.<\/p>\n

CALLER: If you could look into that and get some information I\u2019d be very grateful.<\/p>\n

RUSH: About the body mass index and the weight?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, and other regulations that they\u2019re bringing out in the trucking industry.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We will find it for you. I\u2019ll have it for you on Monday, unless Mark Davis is listening and decides to steal it and get the information and report it to you tomorrow, because Mark Davis will be here tomorrow. I\u2019ve got an appointment that I have to make, but either Mark Davis will have it tomorrow or we\u2019ll have it on Monday. I haven\u2019t heard this. There\u2019s a just one little brief blurb in an obscure paper: ‘Truck drivers urged to shape up undue years of unhealthy behavior.\u2019 It\u2019s an AP story.
