I was calling to talk about amnesty. My point is my parents are immigrants; I\u2019m an immigrant. It took them about ten years to get their citizenship, and I was going to college in the US when President Reagan gave the first amnesty. I was here legally going to school, paying my tuition, and I couldn\u2019t even get that citizenship, and everyone in the country illegally got their citizenship. But my point is now with what\u2019s going on with President Obama, I think the Republicans should call his bluff, and if he wants to give everyone amnesty, they should go back in line and not be allowed to vote until everybody in front of them has cleared &#8212; has applied for their citizenship legally. You know, wait until everybody\u2019s cleared in front of them before they get to the line and then they\u2019re allowed to vote. Either that way or make it ten years before they\u2019re allowed to vote, and see if he really cares about them without their votes.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, I don\u2019t want to do that. Look, we\u2019re dealing with essentially dishonest people. <\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You say, &#8216;Okay, okay. You want amnesty? Fine. Send them to the back of the line.\u2019 We don\u2019t want to agree to the concept. I know what your point is. You\u2019re using a rhetorical device, but I\u2019m going to translate you literally. I don\u2019t want anybody saying, &#8216;All right, fine. You want amnesty, you go to the back of the line. You stay in line with people that waited 5, 10, 15 years.\u2019 They\u2019ll never go for that anyway. That\u2019s not what this is about. This is a voter registration drive. This is not about immigration, it\u2019s not about assimilation. These are undocumented Democrats. As far these people are looked as, &#8216;We just gotta get \u2019em legal so they can vote!\u2019 That\u2019s all this is about. It\u2019s not about anything to do with them improving their lives, having them get a better life. This is about the creation of a permanent underclass. <\/p>\n<p>The Democrats have lost millions of votes since Obama was immaculated. They want to try to get some of those votes back with amnesty, one way or the other. I know exactly what your point is. You talk about skilled versus unskilled immigration. We make no exceptions on the skilled immigration side. We have limits like you wouldn\u2019t believe. It is damn tough to get into this country as a skilled, educated immigrant. But as an unskilled, southern hemisphere &#8212; or actually even northern hemisphere &#8212; immigrant, it\u2019s simple. You cross the border in a car or van or however you can get here. Look, I don\u2019t like saying this stuff. There\u2019s an ongoing effort to define the entire issue. We\u2019re gonna become the lowest-common-denominator country.
