CALLER: This is incredible for me. I\u2019m really fascinated with the schisms that are breaking out within the Republican Party and they\u2019re splitting out from the show as we speak from the lady in Tahoe on to Jason in Atlanta. We\u2019ve gotta be clear with our messaging. Mnuchin coming out and saying what he said… It doesn\u2019t matter who makes 50,000, who makes a hundred thousand. The liberals are gonna take the messaging that\u2019s coming out and they\u2019re going to say:<\/p>\n

“See! The GOP doesn\u2019t care about you during the pandemic and they\u2019re gonna go ahead and take whatever stimulus we gave you and they\u2019re gonna take it away from you!” Even though that\u2019s not what\u2019s being said, that\u2019s how they\u2019re gonna flip it, and that\u2019s what worries me. That\u2019s what worries the lady that called before is that Trump\u2019s not gonna get elected and we\u2019re gonna be stuck with a Biden, Pelosi, and Schumer leadership. The Lord help us! You know that, to me, is where we need to really —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay. So what does the messaging need to be, then?<\/p>\n
CALLER: You know, to be honest with you, I honestly don\u2019t care if we overpay to certain Americans in stimulus. It\u2019s our money anyway. Give it to us. Let us spend it. If it means giving them $600 versus $400, give them the $600. It\u2019s our money anyway. Let us spend it. Get America back to work. It\u2019s gonna happen regardless. Fighting over the details and trying to be —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Wait. Hang on a minute. A, I don\u2019t mean to get all technical on you here, but it isn\u2019t our money. It\u2019s gonna be printed. It\u2019s nobody\u2019s money. We don\u2019t have it. That\u2019s a whole argument, though. Why won\u2019t people go back to work? You say people are gonna go back anyway. That\u2019s the whole argument, that some people haven\u2019t because they don\u2019t have to.<\/p>\n
CALLER: But, see, I totally disagree with that. Every single person that I have spoken to… You know, if it wasn\u2019t for the first stimulus, I could have been right out on the street. It came right at the right time. And, you know, and there\u2019s a lot of people that way. If the governor in our state, for example, who\u2019s got these crazy laws right now…<\/p>\n
People in the service industry can\u2019t get back to work. They make more money in the service industry than they do… You know, I\u2019ve got real bills, and my bills aren\u2019t gonna be paid by 1200 or 600 a week. We\u2019ve got to get back to work. But coming out and Mnuchin saying, “We\u2019re gonna dive into the numbers and we\u2019re gonna see who… You know, we\u2019re gonna tailor this down for…” Come on. ‘Cause you\u2019re doing this in an election time? All the Democrats —<\/p>\n
