RUSH: Have you seen this Fox News story<\/a>? Durham could punt investigation to after the election if it takes much longer. No. That won\u2019t work. This is unacceptable. Somebody is whispering to somebody at Fox News that John Durham, who\u2019s doing the investigation into the coup, he\u2019s been doing this investigation for two years. Everybody\u2019s been led to believe this investigation is going to culminate, there are grand juries, there will be indictments, that there will be accountability. That people who ran this coup in an attempt to overturn a legitimate election, the presidential election of 2016, that they\u2019re gonna be identified, they\u2019re gonna be held accountable.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>And now word, somebody\u2019s leaking that Durham may not finish soon enough to release his results before the election. And if he doesn\u2019t finish in sufficient time here, that he will punt and release whatever he has found after the election. “Two sources familiar with Durham\u2019s investigation told Fox News this week that Durham is working expeditiously to try to finish the probe by the end of summer, but that several lines of investigation are not yet complete. ‘He believes it\u2019s critical to do them,\u2019 one source said. ‘He is feeling more pressure to get this done and wrapped up.\u2019<\/p>\n

“The source also told Fox News that Durham ‘does not want this to be viewed political,\u2019 and the closer it gets to November, Durham could ‘punt it to after the election.'” Senator Grassley said it was “sad” if this is the case. Too many people have been cynically expecting this, and people, no, no, no, isn\u2019t gonna get done. If this doesn\u2019t get done before the election, this could have a horrible impact on Trump\u2019s reelection, and I am not exaggerating that.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: So I\u2019m trying to figure this out. This doesn\u2019t make any sense. Well, I gotta be very careful because when you say it doesn\u2019t make any sense, it does make sense to somebody because this is happening for a reason. Somebody is leaking, somebody whispered, is the terminology. Two sources familiar with John Durham\u2019s investigation told Fox this week that Durham doesn\u2019t want his work to be seen as political, and so he may not be finished before the election and will not reveal any results until after the election, which makes it useless, unless — now, see, this is the rub.<\/p>\n

What is the real purpose of this Investigation? Is this investigation to properly identify a bunch of culprits who engaged in one of the most monumental illegal political scandals in this nation\u2019s history, identify them, indict them, and convict them, is that the purpose, or is the purpose to do that and get it done in sufficient time so as to have it be an election campaign benefit?<\/p>\n

If the objective is literally to find out who did this, beyond what we know, unequivocally, provably who did it, how they did it, why they did it, every detail about it slam-dunk convictions await after indictment, then of course it will have a certain set of requirements for how it be done properly.<\/p>\n

If the purpose of this Durham investigation is to serve as a quasi-October Surprise that everybody knows is coming — and the reason why this is important, folks, I don\u2019t know what percentage, but there\u2019s still a lot of people in this country that only get their news from the Democrat Party. That would be the New York Times, CNN, Washington Post, ABC, CBS, NBC. And those people do not know. They don\u2019t know 10% of what happened.<\/p>\n

\"\"The people that only watch mainstream media don\u2019t know 10% of what this hoax, this scandal, this coup was about. In fact, they probably still think that it\u2019s ongoing because Pelosi and Schiff are still talking about Trump and Russia. And the media is still talking about Trump and Russia. And there are still allusions to Trump being a Putin agent, even though the Mueller report came out and said, nope, couldn\u2019t be find anything. That was reported, but then it was immediately shelved and forgotten.<\/p>\n

And so the Durham report is crucial in simple terms of educating the portion of the country that only watches mainstream media about what really happened. And it\u2019s crucial because Donald Trump didn\u2019t do anything. None of it was true. Not a single allegation, not a single word, not a single report, not a single leak, not a single bit of information.<\/p>\n

There was never any evidence of any of this that was asserted and remains being asserted for four years. And a shockingly large percentage of our country does not know that. The Durham report was going to fill in the blanks for a whole bunch of people. Now, if the Durham report is released before the election, naturally the left and the media, the Democrat Party\u2019s gonna have their reaction to it ready to go, and Durham and Barr will be savaged as partisans and you know the drill.<\/p>\n

But if this doesn\u2019t get released, if there\u2019s nothing, if there\u2019s literally nothing, after this guy\u2019s been at this for two years, we already know what happened. Those of us that followed this, we know who the players are. We know what they did. We know what the crimes committed were. We know the FISA abuse. We know the names. We know the people lied under oath before Congress. They all did — Comey, Strzok Strzok Smirk, Page, McCabe, Priestap, we know what they did.<\/p>\n

If there\u2019s nothing that could do what the Democrats have failed to do for four years, and that is let the wind out of the sails of Trump supporters, if Durham has nothing before the election, you would have a tough time blaming Trump supporters who would conclude, “You know what? We\u2019re never draining the swamp. You know what? Nothing\u2019s gonna change. You know what? They\u2019re gonna get away with it. You know what? We can\u2019t stop \u2019em. You know what? The deep state is the deep state and we just can\u2019t count on them.”<\/p>\n

And I can see some attrition. I can see some formerly rabid Trump supporters losing enthusiasm simply out of a belief that it\u2019s all been a waste of time, all of the hope, all of the belief that these people were going to be made to pay for what they did; now they\u2019re gonna get away with it, all appearances and purposes.<\/p>\n

The left has been doing everything they can to get Trump voters to get tired of him, to abandon him. They have failed at everything they\u2019ve tried. Now here comes John Durham saying, “I don\u2019t know if I\u2019m gonna be able to finish before the election, and if I don\u2019t get it done soon enough I may have to punt \u2019til after the election \u2019cause I don\u2019t want to be seen as a political partisan.”<\/p>\n

You notice that never bothers the Democrats? You notice that never bothers the American left, how they\u2019re seen? “But, Rush, they have no morality and they have no virtue, and we do, and we must never let go of it.” We\u2019re in a fight for the freaking country, and we\u2019re down to a crucial time in that fight.<\/p>\n

\"\"This country still proceeds on the basis of public opinion leading to people voting. And right now, public opinion is at its highest level of ignorance and misinformation in my entire lifetime. The things the American people believe, compounded with the things they have been taught the last 40 years in the American education system, means that American public opinion, in a large percentage of our population, is worthless because it\u2019s wrong, it\u2019s insufficient, it\u2019s tainted, and it is purely political.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve had people call me. You\u2019ve heard them over the past two years. “Rush, do you think this Durham guy\u2019s serious? Do you think there\u2019s gonna be?” And I\u2019ve said I do because I believe William Barr was serious. And I still do. There\u2019s a reason this is being leaked. I don\u2019t yet know what it is. I\u2019m sure if Trump has already reacted to it in the White House somehow, some way. I don\u2019t know what that reaction is, but this will not be acceptable.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, you hit the nail right on the head listening to everything you just said. I\u2019ve been waiting impatiently for this report to come out now, you know, with the mind-set, finally, finally there\u2019s gonna be concrete proof that\u2019s gonna be laid down, everybody\u2019s gonna be held accountable, this thing is gonna be exposed for what it really was, a huge hoax, a conspiracy, the CIA, the FBI, high-ranking members of the previous administration. And even if we didn\u2019t get real justice, it would be exposed. And that would have to be enough.<\/p>\n

So when I saw that article, I read it on Fox, just like you\u2019re saying, it just let the air out of my tires. My stomach dropped. And the mind-set, people on the right have a way of — they can ruin anything. I mean, you have something and for moral reasons, because you don\u2019t want to appear political? This entire thing has been political.<\/p>\n

And how is it a disservice to let the people know that this was a fraud from the start? You\u2019re gonna sit on that information and wait \u2019til after the election? I think that needs to come out immediately. People should know going in, “By the way, this last couple of years, Mueller sat on nothing and let the Republicans lose in the midterm elections. And we\u2019re gonna take the -”<\/p>\n

RUSH: That is exactly right. Mueller knew for two years there was no collusion, that there was nothing to any of this, and he sat on it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And you\u2019re right about something else. This whole scandal is political, and for Durham to say, “I don\u2019t want to appear to be political,” is missing the boat.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: This whole thing was a political operation designed to run a coup and get rid of Trump by overturning a legitimate election. And they\u2019re still running it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. The only thing I could pray — and I don\u2019t even know, I don\u2019t even know if this will be true — but maybe they put that out as misinformation and that will be, you know, the October Surprise to come out and they\u2019re trying to them off guard, but I don\u2019t really know. I don\u2019t have confidence in that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, let me ask you this. Let me ask you one question. And look, you haven\u2019t thought about it enough to answer it, that\u2019s fair. You were Trump voter in 2016?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If this actually happens, if Durham says, “You know what? I\u2019m not gonna finish in time and so I\u2019m not gonna reveal anything before the election,” would this kind of affect you to the point that you would throw your hands up, “It doesn\u2019t matter if I vote or not, to hell with this,” and it\u2019s all been a joke and we\u2019re not gonna get to the bottom, would it lower your enthusiasm to show up and vote for Trump again in 2020?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, Rush, it would lower my enthusiasm, but I absolutely would still go out and vote for him, because, I mean, Trump truly is —<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. Well, then you\u2019ve overcome — all right. Then it would —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — not prevent from you voting. I\u2019m afraid with some people it will. I hope I\u2019m wrong, but I hope that some Trump supporters — \u2019cause they already have to endure the insults and the allegations, and in some cases the physical attacks, if it\u2019s —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — known that they support Trump. They\u2019ve invested a lot, and if there\u2019s no reward — and these people that played this game need to be held accountable for the sake of the rule of law, not just for the reelection of Trump. For the sake of the country, for the sake of the sanctity of the American Department of Justice, CIA, and the intelligence communities. I mean, they\u2019re black ops enough that you\u2019re never gonna – if you try to attach morality to what they do, you may as well shut \u2019em down. You couldn\u2019t succeed in the world if you hammered them with that, but the DOJ is a different thing entirely. Look. I\u2019m glad you called, Rob, very much.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: My brother has his own thought<\/a>, theory on why Durham ought not wait, and it is this: The public has a right to know. America deserves a fully informed electorate, and if this coup happened, it is critical that the American people know it and know the extent and depth of it. Exactly right, particularly those that don\u2019t know anything about it, who only watch, read, or consume what we call the mainstream media.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: I have just one more story here on the Durham investigation. It\u2019s from John Solomon\u2019s website JusttheNews.com. And it\u2019s about Christopher Steele, the author of the fake dossier. “New Steele evidence strengthens Durham prosecution as frustration over inaction grows<\/a> — A British court decision unmasks new evidence of FBI abuses in the Russia collusion probe.”<\/p>\n

So a British court, there are still things being learned about how outrageous this was.<\/p>\n

“It was in London that the whole Russian collusion caper began four years ago; so it seems only fitting that as the discredited probe enters its final phase, that damning new evidence of the FBI\u2019s failures would emerge back in England.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>“This week when a British judge ruled against the former FBI human source Christopher Steele, the decision delivered more than an order for the former spy\u2019s company to pay damages to two Russian businessmen maligned by his dossier.<\/p>\n

“It also introduced new incontrovertible evidence that bolsters Attorney General William Barr\u2019s and U.S. Attorney John Durham\u2019s probe into whether the FBI engaged in misconduct and criminally deceived the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to win permission to spy on the Trump campaign.”<\/p>\n

What more does anybody need to know? The Trump campaign was spied on. The Trump presidency was spied on. The Trump administration was spied on. The FBI attempted to embed informants in the Trump campaign. Everybody knows this. What in the world are we waiting on? There was more damning evidence here from Steele. The degree to which he made things up is what the British court has unveiled.<\/p>\n

And I\u2019ll tell you, folks, a growing number of President Trump\u2019s defenders are growing frustrated that Durham\u2019s investigation has not produced a single thing, not a single prosecution after over a year of investigation. Now, John Solomon, he knows everything about it, he\u2019s done his own investigation. He could probably tell Durham things Durham doesn\u2019t know. There\u2019s no reason for there to have been this degree of inaction for this long.<\/p>\n

Senator Charles Grassley also decried Durham\u2019s lack of action as “sad” in a tweet earlier this week. He said the deep state is so deep that people get away with political crimes. Durham should be producing some fruit of his labor. The Justice Department inspector general\u2019s already identified 17 major failures of the FBI in compiling the FISA warrant application, including false information, falsified documents, omissions of exculpatory — you know, they omitted evidence of exculpatory evidence for Flynn and throughout this investigation. Exculpatory evidence is that which proves you didn\u2019t do it. They hid it. They kept it from defendant\u2019s lawyers. That right there gets cases thrown out.<\/p>\n

Now if Durham does not drop indictments before the election, then none of this matters. Durham could claim he\u2019s got evidence Obama and Biden ordered Comey to create wiretaps of Trump, but if that wasn\u2019t backed up with indictments, would it really matter? Indictments is what everybody has been waiting for here. There is a grand jury. We know what Obama and Biden did. The transcripts of the January 5th Oval Office meeting setting up the meeting the next day between Comey, Clapper, and Brennan at Trump Tower with Trump. We know all of this, irrefutably we know all of this.<\/p>\n

You know, this country doesn\u2019t have white privilege. This country\u2019s not being run on white supremacy. It\u2019s Democrat supremacy, Democrat privilege. That\u2019s what this country\u2019s dealing with. Democrats have a get-out-of-jail-free card with their party registration. That\u2019s all they need, a gigantic D by their name. It equals not guilty. It equals won\u2019t be prosecuted.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Republicans are guilty until they\u2019re proven innocent. Andy McCarthy has been telling everybody that Trump supporters are gonna be disappointed as this plays out. And, boy, it better not be this bad.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Hi, Mary, you\u2019re on.<\/p>\n

\"\"CALLER: Yes. I\u2019m calling about the Durham report, in my book — I\u2019m an average voter — it\u2019s not on my radar. Yes, I\u2019m hoping they find something and they continue investigating and something comes out of it, but that\u2019s not gonna determine — I am mad at everything going on. I don\u2019t watch mainstream media. The information I get about the rioting and looting, the misinformation continually on the coronavirus problem and the economy are gonna be what I\u2019m focusing on. I\u2019m gonna go vote for Trump \u2019cause I have no other option. If I don\u2019t go vote, then I\u2019m a problem to let the Democrats take control. And I think my only hope is to go vote.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s true. Look. There\u2019s no option here. I agree. The reason the Durham thing — I hope I\u2019m wrong about this. You say it doesn\u2019t matter to you, that it\u2019s not a big deal because it\u2019s old news and we\u2019re bedraggled enough with what\u2019s happening at the moment. The country is under assault. And it was under assault for the four years of the Trump administration and then the deep state and the coup and so forth. But this clear and present danger has nothing to do that, and it\u2019s right in front of our face. I understand that, and it\u2019s gotta be beaten back.<\/p>\n

The thing that worries me is that there are a lot of people who I think are — I don\u2019t know how many. That\u2019s one of the things that concerns me. Look, I would love to be wrong about this, but I think there are a lot of people who are hanging onto this campaign by a thread. You know, we look at the last four years of attacks on Trump as attacks on Trump. They\u2019ve been attacks on us.<\/p>\n

The people that the Democrats, the media really hate, are us. We are the ones that elected the guy. We are the ones they are trying to destroy and to dispirit and to depress. We are the ones they are trying to convince that opposition to the Democrats is hopeless.<\/p>\n

People need reaffirmation frequently. They need confidence building frequently. And that scandal, the coup, is the biggest, most outrageous illegal political scandal at least in people\u2019s lifetimes. And many of them are fed up with it. And they have been led to believe that the people that did it are going to be held accountable.<\/p>\n

And if that doesn\u2019t happen, I\u2019m afraid that some of those people are gonna throw their hands up and just disappear into the countryside, forget politics, forget all this, and just try to live their lives as far away from all this stuff as they can \u2019cause they can\u2019t deal with the never-ending disappointment, the never-ending losing, the never-ending whatever.<\/p>\n

And they think we\u2019re losing every day because of the media. The media makes it look like we\u2019re a tiny minority, that we\u2019ve got no chance at anything, when that\u2019s not the case. But people have to be told that. They have to be reminded that.<\/p>\n

So that\u2019s the only reason this thing is worrisome to me. And I may be dead wrong about it. I\u2019ve had a couple calls today, people said, “Well, it\u2019s not gonna stop me from voting.” And you just said it\u2019s not gonna stop you from voting. It\u2019s the only thing we can do and that there really is no choice here.<\/p>\n
