CALLER: Hi, Rush. Uh, I\u2019m surprised I got in. I\u2019ve been trying to call you for a while. You know, it\u2019s amazing to me that you make as much money as you do because you are full of BS. And the people who listen to you, most of them are probably hardworking people who you guys have convinced that there should be limited government and they shouldn\u2019t take handouts. And that\u2019s all they\u2019re taking is a handout because every time they call you and they listen to you and believe that BS that you put out there, you are hurting them and you\u2019re laughing all the way to the bank. And as far as our president is concerned, you need to stop mocking him. It makes you look even less intelligent than you are. That\u2019s BS.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, in the first place there\u2019s — <\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s no BS on this program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: There were no tea parties when Bush was spending us out of house and home! Nobody complained about taxes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Pam, look, look, look. This is going to be a total waste of time. I have myself been critical of the Bush administration for all the spending.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Your epidermis is rejecting the truth —<\/p>\n

CALLER: The one thing I can give you over Sean Hannity is that you allow people to —<\/p>\n

RUSH: — and bigotry of your own self.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — speak their minds, but you guys are full of BS, and you are big-ass liars.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Uh, no. Neither is true. We both deal in the truth.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, you —<\/p>\n

RUSH: How much money I make has nothing to do with anything that you\u2019ve talked about, and I wish that what I was saying about President Obama wasn\u2019t true, Pam. The onus is on people like you to wake up and to realize where this president is taking this country. We have somebody leading the country who doesn\u2019t really like it — and that\u2019s not good, Pam. We care about the country here. We want everybody to do well. We want everybody to prosper. Pam, it is simply outrageous. Look at this story. ‘Private Pay Shrinks to Historic Lows as Gov\u2019t Payouts Rise — Paychecks from private business shrank to their smallest share of personal income in US history during the first quarter of this year, a USA TODAY analysis of government data finds. <\/p>\n

‘At the same time, government-provided benefits — from Social Security, unemployment insurance, food stamps and other programs — rose to a record high during the first three months of 2010.\u2019 We are paying people not to work. We are paying people to be lazy. We are rewarding people who don\u2019t achieve anything. We are paying people in government who don\u2019t produce anything much more than what we are paying people in the private sector. It\u2019s the people in the private sector who pay, who earn the money that is paid to government workers. This is simply not sustainable! This is Greece times five if this does not change. In fact, ‘The trend is not sustainable, says University of Michigan economist Donald Grimes. Reason: The federal government depends on private wages to generate income taxes to pay for its ever-more-expensive programs. Government-generated income is taxed at lower rates or not at all, he says. ‘This is really important,\u2019 Grimes says.<\/p>\n

‘The recession has erased 8 million private jobs.\u2019 The unemployment rate in the public sector is below 3%. This is not sustainable — and also, Pam, this is not an accident. We have a president who resents the traditions and institutions which have made this country great. We have a president whose politics are those of grievance. He has been educated and raised to believe that America is unjust, immoral, and needs to be cut down to size. We have a president who sees it as his main responsibility, Pam, to preside over America\u2019s decline. And, Pam, I don\u2019t know about you, but I\u2019m not ready for our country to decline. Our country can only decline if it is led in that direction by people who want it to happen. We are not the kind of country that can decline on its own. It has to be forced, and it is being forced, and it\u2019s being done so happily and with approval. ‘Facts are stubborn things,\u2019 Pam. It is not I who mock the president. It is facts which accurately detail this president. Mock him? I wish that\u2019s all I was doing! I wish all I was doing was making fun of him. But, frankly, there\u2019s not much to laugh at, Pam, and I wish there were. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Basically, I just wanted to say that he doesn\u2019t care. Barack Obama doesn\u2019t care, man. I\u2019ve never seen somebody more detached than he is. It\u2019s not because Jindal\u2019s a Republican. Obama just doesn\u2019t care. It\u2019s basically what the heck it\u2019s at, man.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, okay. Why do you think he doesn\u2019t care? Because David Gergen says he ‘obviously\u2019 does care.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He doesn\u2019t care because he\u2019s a self-consumed, petty, petulant, devious, cynical, perverse character. That\u2019s why he doesn\u2019t care.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s a shocking thing to say. He doesn\u2019t care about the spill.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, he doesn\u2019t. He doesn\u2019t. If he really cared — and he\u2019s not smart, either. He doesn\u2019t jump down there. Just for show, just for show. Even if he don\u2019t care, which he doesn\u2019t, just do it for show, man. Aren\u2019t you that nice?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I think we have to give some credence to what you\u2019re saying, even though you ‘mock the president\u2019 right along with me here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, that\u2019s great. That\u2019s great. <\/p>\n

RUSH: (chuckling)<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, listen. Hey, Rush? Rush?<\/p>\n

RUSH: What? <\/p>\n

CALLER: He names this guy, this militant homosexual, Kevin Jennings as a ‘safe school czar.\u2019 Doesn\u2019t this guy have some affiliation with NAMBLA?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I know. We point this out and people say, ‘Well, Obama doesn\u2019t know.\u2019 These people are Obama! Every one of these czars and every one of these cabinet posts, every judicial nominee, they are Obama. That is why they\u2019re being picked. That\u2019s why they are in these positions. The idea that somebody\u2019s pulling the wool over Obama\u2019s eyes on this? That\u2019s what\u2019s filled with sophistry.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: So I went to the e-mails during the break. Man, oh, man! The people are reacting to the call from Pam in Baltimore. Pam, let me just tell you something — and let me tell the rest of you what\u2019s really going on with this and why I don\u2019t take any of this personally. Because a lot of you say, ‘Rush, how can you sit there and put up with all that?\u2019 Folks, look. We\u2019ve been doing this for 21 years. What this woman did, Pam in Baltimore, is she attacked me because she doesn\u2019t like that I am successful. She led off with that. That was her number one thing, all this so-called wealth and got rich was BS. She just doesn\u2019t like anybody who\u2019s successful. She doesn\u2019t like anybody who opposes Obama. She is the Obama mentality. She did not say one thing of substance. She insisted that I stop exposing Obama\u2019s defects, which are infinite. <\/p>\n

She wants me silenced. She wants us all to just go along with the destruction of our society, and those of us who stand up to all this? Why, we\u2019re nothing but rich! We\u2019ve got ours; screw everybody else. We\u2019re outta touch. Or we\u2019re racists or we\u2019re ignorant or we\u2019re the militia, on and on and on. But it won\u2019t work, not this time, and you know why, Pam? And I\u2019ll tell you all the rest of you. Be confident here. Obama now has a record. He can\u2019t blame all this on Bush. Obama now has a record, and it is awful. He has a record of abject failure at virtually everything he has sought, quote, unquote, ‘to fix.\u2019 And if you believe that he actually wants to fix these things, you need to listen even closer. Nobody in their right mind who actually wanted to create jobs to cause an end to our recession and once again create wealth would do anything this administration is doing. Not one thing. <\/p>\n

And don\u2019t tell me that all these people are just naive, idealists and utopians who don\u2019t get it. They do get it. They know exactly what they\u2019re doing. They do have ego. They do think that their presence will make these ideas work for the first time in world history. But why do they want these ideas to work? It is they who want to get rich. It is they who want to get rich on the backs of everybody else. It is they who want great wealth without earning it. They either want to inherit it or they want to be able to siphon it from other people. They have no way of earning this kind of wealth that they claim to resent. But they desire it. That\u2019s why they want all the money, as much as they can get, in control of Washington with themselves and their fingers involved with the purse strings and so forth. <\/p>\n

Obama is hurting middle-class families. He is hurting small business. He is hurting taxpayers of all walks of life. He is bankrupting the next two generations, maybe three. So we\u2019re not going to shut up. We are going to speak out, we\u2019re gonna stand up, and we\u2019re going to do all we can to stop this in November and in future elections. You can try calling and shouting us down. You can try insulting us with your baseless, unsubstantive charges. Go ahead and try it. As for mocking, who is the king of mocking right now? Obama. Obama is the king of mocking. He mocks the tea party activists, calls \u2019em ‘tea baggers.\u2019 He mocks Republicans. He mocks those who criticized his health care law. He mocks those who don\u2019t accept the hoax of global warming. Obama mocks others all the time — and he is the president!<\/p>\n

<\/a>He does all this mocking because he has nothing else. He mocks the bank guys. He sends union thugs to their homes. I\u2019m sure by now you\u2019ve all heard of the column Nina Easton wrote. She lives in the same neighborhood as a guy who works at a bank. SEIU union thugs got a police escort to this guy\u2019s house to make a protest on his front yard and at his front door. He wasn\u2019t home. Only his teenage son was at home. His teenage son was scared to death. He called his dad and his dad said, ‘Go to a bathroom and lock the door.\u2019 The cops gave an escort to SEIU union thugs to this guy\u2019s neighborhood, and they said, ‘Oh, yeah. Well, these banks are not off the hook now, we\u2019re going to protest them,\u2019 and this guy\u2019s a Democrat. This is Obama. This is what a community agitator and organizer does. Obama is the guy who creates this kind of tension. Obama wants it. This is how Obama has rewarded himself with power. He doesn\u2019t have anything else. He doesn\u2019t have anything substantive. CALLER: And so I heard on the radio this morning driving my daughter to private school that all nonunion workers were ordered to stay home today for fear — for security reasons.<\/line> <\/line> RUSH: Uh, uh, uh. Wait, at a solar panel manufacturing plant?<\/line> <\/line> CALLER: Solar panel manufacturing plant.<\/line> <\/line> RUSH: And what nonunion workers were ordered to stay home? People at the plant?<\/line> <\/line> CALLER: People at the plant, right, because President Obama is visiting so all the nonunion workers that work at that plant were ordered to stay home today for security reasons.<\/line> <\/line> RUSH: Wow. What kind of workers are these? Are these blue-collar workers or these executives?<\/line> <\/line> CALLER: Blue-collar, I\u2019m assuming. I heard this on the Drive-By Media. I\u2019m assuming they\u2019re blue-collar, putting these solar panels together.<\/line> <\/line> RUSH: Wow. All nonunion people urged to stay home?<\/line> <\/line> CALLER: Without pay.<\/line> <\/line> RUSH: Without pay.<\/line> <\/line> CALLER: ‘For security reasons.\u2019<\/line> <\/line> RUSH: For security reasons.
