RUSH: Concetta in Chatham, New Jersey, nice to have you on the EIB Network. I\u2019m glad you held on. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you very much, Rush. We received this letter. It said registered documents enclosed, it looked very official, you open it up, it\u2019s from the Democratic National Committee implying that I\u2019m a part of a select group of leaders chosen to participate in a survey. Now, this survey is asking all kinds of questions about President Obama\u2019s performance since he\u2019s in the presidency. And then the underscored part of this says, ‘The Republican Party has been trying to fight back after their defeat in the 2008 elections and is being aided by the misinformation and hatred being spread by the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. Our nation cannot afford for the Democratic Party to lose momentum.\u2019 When I looked at that I really saw red, but of course it\u2019s been going on. And we are not Democrats, nor have we been. But they\u2019re implying that we are leaders, you know, of the Democrat Party.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Are they asking you for money in addition to —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Of course.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s what we finally get to at the end of all this nonsense. They\u2019re asking for a contribution because they need it, they need us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They sent another mailer out last week referring to Republican leader Rush Limbaugh. They\u2019ve used me as a fundraising vehicle for years here. Now, it\u2019s a genuine survey, they\u2019re asking about Obama or do you think that\u2019s just —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. In the survey questions they have things like, ‘How do you rate President Obama\u2019s performance in addressing the nation\u2019s economic situation,\u2019 and then they have excellent, good, fair, poor, undecided. And they have seven questions.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Are you gonna respond?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, of course not.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why not?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I feel as though I\u2019m being involved with the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, wait a second. You can turn this around and have some fun with it. Wait a second, now. Everything\u2019s an opportunity if you look at it in the right light.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s what he was saying. You think I should answer this, then?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, maybe. Are there check boxes for the amount of money you can contribute?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What\u2019s the smallest amount?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Twenty-five dollars.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Twenty-five dollars.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you have $25 laying around?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) I guess so.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Are there places to write in comments in addition to just answering the questions?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No.<\/p>\n

RUSH: A-ha.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. They simply ask those, but of course there\u2019s nothing to prevent you from using an area that\u2019s kind of blank by putting in your own comments, if you\u2019d like to, you know. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I could do that, I suppose, but I just don\u2019t want anything to do with this Democratic National Committee. And who is Governor Tim Kaine, K-a-i-n-e?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, he\u2019s got an eye problem. He\u2019s the former governor of Virginia. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I see.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, and he now runs the Democrat National Committee.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I see.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You just never know when he\u2019s looking at you, you really can\u2019t tell. Typical Democrat.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know. We were thinking of having fun with it, too, but I don\u2019t know whether I want to be involved with this. They\u2019re liable to — <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you don\u2019t have to send them $25, they\u2019ll take anything —<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, it isn\u2019t that, I just don\u2019t want to be involved with the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I understand. I understand, but —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — they think you\u2019re a Democrat leader. They got your name and address someplace.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, but not in politics. My husband and I don\u2019t involve ourselves in politics at all. That\u2019s why I\u2019m surprised to get anything like this. Really, really strange. Well, we\u2019ll look at it and think about what we\u2019ll do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You ought to send it back, maybe with a check that bounces, you know, send a check that will bounce or what have you, but put a little comment like: ‘I really don\u2019t appreciate you focusing so much on Rush Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh can\u2019t raise my taxes like Barack Obama has.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: ‘Rush Limbaugh can\u2019t send my kids off to war like Barack Obama has.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: ‘Rush Limbaugh cannot take away my health care and doctor like Barack Obama has. I wish you people would focus on the real enemies of this country and look at yourselves.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: That would be good. That would be good. I\u2019ll have to think about it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, think about it. It may not be worth the money to you, depends on how you define fun.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s true.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019m glad you called, Concetta. Thank you so much for holding.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, Rush.<\/p>\n
