Well, it might surprise some people on Fox. It might surprise some people on MSNBC. &#8216;ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis Praises Socialism, Bashes Conservatives at Socialist Youth Conference &#8212; Over 150 youth and student activists gathered at Norman Thomas High School in New York City from March 5-7, 2010. Young Democratic Socialists (YDS) activists and progressive youth converged to discuss how to amplify left-wing pressure on the establishment. These young radicals came from Texas, Indiana to Kansas, Florida, Rhode Island, Oregon and more. Bertha Lewis spoke at the Winter Conference of the Young Democratic Socialists in March. The ACORN CEO praised socialism and attacked conservatives in her talk.\u2019 I only mention this because we have some people holding out, even on our side of the media, &#8216;He\u2019s not a socialist. He\u2019s not a socialist.\u2019 It\u2019s right out in front of everybody\u2019s eyes. It\u2019s happening right in front of everybody\u2019s eyes. They\u2019re not even bothering to hide it. So whenever they ballyhoo themselves in this way we point it out. <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: We have the audio of Bertha Lewis, New York City, ACORN, chief executive officer of the group, held a-press conference. Here\u2019s a portion of what she said.<\/p>\n<p>LEWIS: Let me just say, any group that says I\u2019m young, I\u2019m Democratic, and I\u2019m a socialist is alright with me. (applause) You know, that\u2019s no light thing to do, to actually say, &#8216;I\u2019m a socialist.\u2019 As you guys know, right now we are living in a time which is going to dwarf the McCarthy era, it is going to dwarf the internment during WWII.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: What is she talking about? What in the world? We\u2019re living in a time which is going to dwarf the McCarthy era, it is going to dwarf the internment during World War II. What am I missing here? Bertha Lewis is the same person who said people have a right to housing. ACORN is right in the middle of the subprime mortgage crisis. But her guy, a fellow socialist, is running the country. Who\u2019s gonna get interned? McCarthy era, gonna dwarf the internment during World War II? Here\u2019s the next sound bite.<\/p>\n<p>LEWIS: We are right now in a time that is going to dwarf the era of Jim Crow and segregation. They are coming, and they are coming after you and they are going to be brutal and (unintelligible). They\u2019ve already shown it to you. Organize, get out into the street. You really have got to circle the wagons. This is not rhetoric of hyperbole. This is real, this rise of this tea party so-called movement. Bowel movement in my estimation (laughter).<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Oh, the tea party\u2019s a bowel movement! We can perfectly entertain talk like that, yes, in the new civility that is Obama\u2019s America. So here\u2019s Bertha Lewis, ACORN\u2019s CEO warning young socialists about the racist tea party movement. Oh, I get it now. So the tea party is going to be interning socialists. The tea party is going to come and they\u2019re going to take you away and they\u2019re going to put you in a camp somewhere. Now, isn\u2019t Bertha Lewis engaging here in dangerous rhetoric? Do you think Bertha Lewis\u2019 words might be encouraging somebody to violence? Isn\u2019t that what Slick Willie said about me and the tea party? These people, folks, I\u2019ll tell you, it is breathtaking. It is really a Mars-Venus circumstance. <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Here is Scott in McKay, Ohio. It\u2019s great to have you, sir, on the EIB Network.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Thanks, Rush. It\u2019s great to talk to you. I want to get back to Bertha Lewis for a second. She\u2019s always amusing, but this whole thing about internment camps. Do you think that\u2019s just left-wing projection? Because I\u2019m wondering, you know, they haven\u2019t really&#8230; When\u2019s the last time we had White House proxies accusing commentators like yourself of sedition? That\u2019s pretty new.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Maybe she\u2019s really thinking about that in the back of her mind when she claims that they\u2019re coming to get her. She\u2019s thinking, &#8216;A-ha! They\u2019re going to come and get him.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Even so, who is the &#8216;They\u2019?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yeah, right.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Who is coming to get Bertha Lewis to intern her? She\u2019s gotta mean the tea party people. That\u2019s what she\u2019s talking about.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: But if anybody\u2019s going to be interning anybody it\u2019s the regime!<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Where are you gonna go? Are you going to have, like, an offshore pirate radio station? <\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Oh, if it came to that &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: You know, you gotta think about that now. What\u2019s your backup plan?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, I got two backup plans.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: (chuckling)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: One of them\u2019s all Australia.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: All right!<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: They speak English!<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yes, they do.
