RUSH: This is a Politico story. I\u2019m just gonna read to you the headline: “Suddenly, Public Health Officials Say Social Justice Matters More Than Social Distance.”<\/a> This is a story urging you to forget the virus, forget social distancing, forget everything you\u2019ve been told about how to protect yourself and others from the virus. Instead, get out there and protest. Instead, get out there, get close, get tight.<\/p>\n

For months you were told to stay home to save America, to flatten the curve, to stop the virus, to save the American hospital system. Whatever excuse you were given. Now the same health experts, many of them, are encouraging the public to join mass protests. So you could be forgiven if you were confused.<\/p>\n

Wait, wait, wait. You said that paramount — Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx, we gotta mitigate, we gotta mitigate, we gotta socially distance. We gotta wear masks, we gotta do all this, we gotta shut down everything, shut down the NFL, shut down the NBA, gotta shut down MLB, we gotta shut down everything, we can\u2019t go out, shut down the schools.<\/p>\n

Now, no, we gotta go out and join the protests, screw all that stuff we told you. In fact, even Dr. Fauci is saying that school can open this fall now. Oh, yes, I have it right here in The Stack<\/a>, Dr. Fauci, “We\u2019re not expecting that big a second wave.” Why not? What\u2019s changed? Nothing\u2019s changed. It\u2019s just that they were taking all of this news, the scare tactics combined, to get you to stay home, which you did.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: If black lives really mattered to the left, wouldn\u2019t they be worried? Wouldn\u2019t they maybe be horrified by black Americans assembling in massive numbers during a pandemic?<\/p>\n

Remember, these are the people who have told us that this pandemic is real and that we need to socially distance and that we need to wear masks and that there\u2019s gonna be a second wave and that we should not reopen the country and that it\u2019s a killer — and that, and that, and that.<\/p>\n

Given that these are the people who told us this, and given that these are the people who claim that black lives matter, why are they encouraging black lives to assemble in massive crowds and numbers during the pandemic? Especially, my friends, when we were told that African-Americans are more susceptible to the coronavirus. Remember that?<\/p>\n

I sure as heck do.<\/p>\n

\"\"We were told that African-Americans are more susceptible to the coronavirus, and that African-Americans were experiencing a far worse outcome than others. So, if black lives really matter, what the hell are these Democrats doing asking African-Americans to go out there and basically sit there and wait for the second wave to hit \u2019em — or maybe not even the second wave if the first wave isn\u2019t over?<\/p>\n

Instead, what do we get? Protesters, rioters, looters are being praised and they\u2019re being encouraged to keep doing it. The police are told to stand down! They\u2019re told to leave \u2019em alone, to let \u2019em have at it. Black lives matter? Really? The hypocrisy here. The hypocrisy is stunning. When are these people gonna figure this out? This is all part of my theme today, the failure and the phoniness of liberalism and the Democrat Party.<\/p>\n

Churchgoers, businesses, shoppers are locked down, told to say away, told to stay home, told to socially distance, told to wear masks — are giving a green light to African-Americans to go anywhere and do anything. Politics trumps health on the left. Politics trumps everything. Screw nursing homes. Screw all these claims of mass infections in crowds. If you doubt me, I have here in my formerly nicotine-stained fingers a Politico story:<\/p>\n

He\u2019s the headline: “Suddenly, Public Health Officials Say Social Justice Matters More Than Social Distance — For months, health experts told Americans to stay home. Now, many are encouraging the public to join mass protests.” Yep, and who are they encouraging? Well, among them, African-Americans because black lives matter.<\/p>\n

“‘We should always evaluate the risks and benefits of efforts to control the virus,\u2019 Jennifer Nuzzo, a Johns Hopkins epidemiologist, tweeted on Tuesday. ‘In this moment the public health risks of not protesting to demand an end to systemic racism greatly exceed the harms of the virus.'” A Johns Hopkins epidemiologist! It\u2019s where Ben Carson<\/a> worked. A Johns Hopkins, an epidemiologist! That\u2019s what Dr. Fauci is.<\/p>\n

A John Hopkins epidemiologist has just tweeted that it is more important to go out there and be part of the protest march and riot and loot than it is to protect yourself from the virus, because the threat of systemic racism is greatly greater than the threat of the virus. Which is an absolute crock that is as dishonest and disingenuous as any liberal Democrat politico could say something.<\/p>\n

\"\"Here\u2019s another: “‘The injustice that\u2019s evident to everyone right now needs to be addressed,\u2019 Abraar Karan, a Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital [Boston] physician [said]. ‘While I have voiced concerns that protests risk creating more outbreaks, the status quo wasn\u2019t going to stop #covid19 either.” So he\u2019s saying — or she. I must admit, I do not know what gender the name Abraar is.<\/p>\n

But whoever this is, is again telling people it is far more important to stop systemic racism and to stop all of this than it is to protect yourself from the virus. Really? Do you remember it was just two months ago and the virus, it was deadly! It was gonna get everybody! It was The Andromeda Strain. “Oh, no! We\u2019re all gonna die! You\u2019ve gotta stay inside. You gotta protect yourself.”<\/p>\n

Now, “Screw you! Screw you protecting yourself. To hell with you. That\u2019s being selfish. You trying to save yourself, protect yourself? That is selfish. You need to go out there and risk getting the virus in order to stop systemic racism,” which is nothing more than a construct by the liberal Democrats to mask the overall failure of what they believe. Let\u2019s see here.<\/p>\n

“[M]any say…” This a pull quote. “[M]any say the protests are worth the risk of a possible COVID-19 surge…” It\u2019s worth a second wave! It\u2019s worth a second wave. “[H]undreds of public health workers who signed an open letter this week that sought to distinguish the new anti-racist protests ‘from the response to white protesters resisting stay-home orders.'” So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
