CALLER: Well, thanks, Rush. I\u2019m a registered nurse here, and I\u2019m highly entertained by your show all the time, but I have to admit I\u2019m kind of a weenie liberal. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s a hell of an admission. Why weenie?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, because way back — and I don\u2019t even know why it developed, I can\u2019t even come up with any good intellectual argument for it, it\u2019s just the way I am.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, it\u2019s like I read a story the other day that a lot of women in the country, they\u2019re just feeling, and they\u2019re not —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They don\u2019t even know what they\u2019re feeling, they\u2019re just feeling, and deal with it. So I guess that\u2019s you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s just gut.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But, hey, I just have one thing I would encourage you to do, is not encourage folks to come into the doctor\u2019s office looking for these new wonderful benefits that we\u2019re going to get from our new health care plans.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, only because we are, as nursing professionals I can tell you — I\u2019m sure doctors will tell you the same thing — we\u2019re already overwhelmed with trying to take care of as many people as we need to. And for somebody to come in as an instigator, not that all of your listeners would, but maybe some of them would, but for somebody to come in as an instigator to find out when they\u2019re going to get these benefits, it just puts a heavier burden on us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Gee, I feel bad for you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) No, I don\u2019t need anybody to feel bad for me. My wife\u2019s a nurse, I\u2019m a nurse, and no one should feel bad —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know what? Your burden\u2019s going to increase no matter what I do. I have nothing to do with it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And that\u2019s true —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you know how many people out there think it\u2019s free now? They are showing up on their own. I didn\u2019t urge that to happen, that did happen, I just told the story and said, ‘Wouldn\u2019t it be funny if it kept happening all week?\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, yesterday when I heard it, that\u2019s what I mean, and I\u2019m sure that there are plenty of instigators out there that might do it, and I would discourage listeners from falling prey to that. That\u2019s all.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you don\u2019t want me to say something like, ‘Attention everybody in Port St. Lucie, there is now free medical care and McNuggets at the local hospital?\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Amen. Amen. Hey, you know what would be fun?<\/p>\n

RUSH: What? <\/p>\n

CALLER: If you could get somebody like Professor Dyson on with you, and you could kind of take turns if you could keep it civil, and I\u2019m sure you could, and you would make a comment, and he could give you his read from a liberal perspective. He would make a comment, you could give —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s the problem with that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Not necessarily that it\u2019s legitimate one way or another.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I understand where you\u2019re coming from. People say, ‘Why don\u2019t you talk to more liberals?\u2019 Well, here\u2019s the thing. I am more honest than they are about who they are and what they think. I don\u2019t need a liberal to come give me his point of view. I know it better than he does, and I\u2019ll be more honest than any liberal on this show about what he or she thinks. Also, it would be pointless, it would be giving up valuable broadcast time and a forum much larger than any forum these people can get, such as MSNBC or what have you. If I put on a bad show, I lose my audience. My audience doesn\u2019t want to hear from this guy. My audience wants to hear what I think of this guy because I\u2019m going to be more honest about who he is than he will be.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/line>RUSH: Say, have you ever wanted an MRI just to say you had one so people think you\u2019re a jock? Go get one! Show up at a doctor\u2019s office or a hospital and tell \u2019em you want an MRI. If you think you need a colonoscopy, just show up! Ask \u2019em. Nancy Pelosi said we had to pass the bill to find out what\u2019s in it. Well, let\u2019s find out what\u2019s in it. We had this guy call from Saginaw, Michigan, asking me not to flood the emergency rooms because they\u2019re already overburdened with people. Well, Obama and everybody is saying that this is great and preexisting coverage for kids. So if your kid has some kind of a disease and up to now you haven\u2019t been able to get coverage, call an insurance company and say you want him covered. Free, obviously. It\u2019s not gonna cost you anything. I mean, we may as well do this, folks. Like I told you the story here at the top of the show: A woman I know went in to get a mammogram yesterday. <\/line><\/p>\n

Was this a doctor\u2019s office or…? (interruption) A breast center? Right. (interruption) Biopsy, mammogram, surgeon. A breast center. Well, that\u2019s a new one on me. I didn\u2019t know there were ‘breast centers\u2019 in this country. Okay, a friend of mine went to the breast center. No enlargements, no cosmetics there. Well, you know, those get taxed now. Tanning salon people, there\u2019s a tax now on that. In fact, Snerdley is going to call his insurance company and ask where his refund check is because premiums are going down $2,500. I think you all ought to call your insurance company say, ‘Where\u2019s the check?\u2019 or ‘When\u2019s it coming? Where do I get my $2,500 reduction on premium?\u2019 And the insurance people are going to say, ‘What are you talking about?\u2019 ‘Well, Obama said throughout the campaign and just this past month or so that insurance premiums are coming down $2,500, and I want to know when I\u2019m getting my check.\u2019 <\/p>\n

Just call \u2019em up, folks. Anyway, my friends, in the breast center getting a mammogram, and the woman comes in (don\u2019t know what she needed done, but she walked in) and she literally said, ‘Okay, I\u2019m here to have my procedure done here,\u2019 and the nurse or the administrative person said, ‘Well, you\u2019re not covered. This treatment isn\u2019t covered,\u2019 and the woman said, ‘What? Didn\u2019t you know that it passed yesterday?\u2019 ‘Yeah, but you\u2019re still not covered.\u2019 ‘Well, when will it be?\u2019 ‘Well, I don\u2019t know,\u2019 said the administrator. Well, Pelosi said that we have to pass the bill to find what\u2019s in it. So show up, folks! Just for the fun of it just show up. Make up an illness, make up a disease. Say you want a colonoscopy and of course you now expect that it\u2019s not going to cost you anything and see what happens. Just find out what\u2019s in the bill. Same thing with an MRI, whatever medical treatment you\u2019ve always really wanted so you could brag about saying you had it. Even if you just need a couple of stitches for the wound of your choice go in and say, ‘I need this done and I\u2019m sure it\u2019s covered now, right?\u2019 (interruption) Well, now, I don\u2019t want to segregate the types of people who should call. (laughing) Folks, do it now. Do it now, because it won\u2019t be long before the government is going to be controlling you. John Dingell again with Paul W. Smith, WJR Detroit yesterday. <\/line><\/line>DINGELL: Paul W., we\u2019re not ready to be doing it, but let me remind you, this has been going on for years. We are bringing it to a halt. The harsh fact of the matter is when you\u2019re going to pass legislation that will cover 300 American people in different ways it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: ‘To control the people.\u2019 That means when you want your MRI, you may not be able to get it. What does ‘control the people\u2019 mean? ‘Control the people\u2019 means controlling you and deciding what you get, what you don\u2019t get, where you\u2019re gonna get it, and where you\u2019re not going to get it as it relates to health care. That\u2019s the longest-serving Democrat in the House of Representatives, John Dingell. ‘It\u2019s gonna take a long time, Paul W. I mean we\u2019ve been working on this a long time, it\u2019s a big legislative deal here, take a long time to put it all together, control the people.\u2019 Now he\u2019s saying today he was tired. He\u2019s trying to walk it back. Well, he\u2019s not tired. He just didn\u2019t censor himself. That\u2019s what happened. <\/p>\n

I\u2019m reporting this to you, my friends, a drive-by caller, a bus driver from Delaware said when you go in to a doctor\u2019s office, breast centers, medical facilities, they always ask, ‘Well, who\u2019s going to pay for it?\u2019 ‘You just answer, Barack Obama, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.\u2019 ‘Well, who\u2019s going to pay for it?\u2019 They will ask you that. Folks, I have to think that somebody, even the people that love this have to think somebody\u2019s paying for it, they just don\u2019t think it\u2019s them. So when you go in there, you know, to get your MRI so you can show people you\u2019re a jock, when they say, ‘Well, who\u2019s going to pay for it?\u2019 Just say, ‘Barack Obama, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,\u2019 put the phone number on there.
