RUSH: Joe in St. Louis, thank you for waiting, sir. You\u2019re up next. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, Rush, I\u2019ve gotta disagree with you about two things. The Democrat Party as far back as Roosevelt has never been anything but a party of envy, jealousy, and greed. And they\u2019ve always been a minority. But come this election, the people that voted for Obama, they didn\u2019t vote because of hatred. They didn\u2019t vote for hope and change. They voted to get even with me and you. It\u2019s payback time. And that\u2019s all it ever was about.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s essentially what I said, that they hate us.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it\u2019s more than just hatred. It\u2019s payback, because I know, and I know that you know, that none of these people\u2019s lives will change and their life will not be any better than it is now. But as long as me and you and the people that listen to you are getting hurt, that\u2019s all they care about. It\u2019s payback time.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I do not disagree with that in any shape manner or form, but I do think at the leadership level — look at what\u2019s driving this — at the leadership level is a dislike for the structure of this country, for the basic foundations of it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And, you know, the thing about that is Pelosi and Reid and all of them, they know that none of these things will ever touch them or their families, because they\u2019ll be wherever they\u2019re at, they\u2019ll have their money, they\u2019ll have their perks, Nancy will fly all over the world on Air Force planes. These things will never touch them. They\u2019ll just affect me and you. And the other thing I would say that I disagree with you about was Stacy<\/a>, if you remember a few years when you had people calling in talking about how when they lost their jobs it was a good thing, people in your audience aren\u2019t going to sit around and give you a sob story. Nobody cares and nobody listens —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, don\u2019t misunderstand now, I\u2019m not talking about a bunch of people quitting. What I mean by sob story, I want people to call this program whose stories are the result of federal government action and legislation forcing them to take a new direction that they maybe didn\u2019t want to have to take, shutting down their business, making it impossible to run their business with high taxes or what have you. The purpose here is to illustrate the details of the program, not to create a bunch of whiners, we\u2019re not doing that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, we already know all that, we know everything that the government does to us and I love you, Rush, don\u2019t misunderstand, but you know what, you\u2019re not going to get me or Stacy<\/a> or anybody to sit around and cry and whine, we just get up and keep moving on because, you know what, that\u2019s what we learned from you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I understand. I appreciate that, I really do. I don\u2019t expect anybody to sit around. That\u2019s how we\u2019re going to overcome this. Ed Feulner at Heritage yesterday said the American people are not constantly forever thwarted. We totally believe this. I just want to turn a little tactic around on them for some entertainment\u2019s sake here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know if we can overcome this, Rush, because I think there\u2019s a majority of people in this country —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, wait a minute, Joe. Wait a minute, now. You can\u2019t have it both ways. You can\u2019t sit here and say don\u2019t give me any sob stories, these people are going to go out there they\u2019re going to do whatever they have to do, and then in the next breath say they can\u2019t overcome it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, we\u2019re going to keep fighting but I\u2019m telling you I\u2019m afraid that there\u2019s a majority of people in this country now that have been taught to sit there with their hands out, and I can remember back in the \u201992 election when some little snot-nosed little brat girl got up and asked George Bush, ‘I just got out of college and I just had a baby and I got all of these bills and what are you going to do for me?\u2019 And instead of telling her, ‘Ma\u2019am, that\u2019s not my job to take care of you, your baby, your college bills and all this,\u2019 he started rattling off all these things that he was going to do to help her and then Bill Clinton gave her a ton more that he was going to do for her, and there\u2019s too many people with their hands out.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know, then the ponytail guy stood up. Well, it\u2019s not a majority yet. If it were a majority we\u2019d have 60% approval of the health care bill. It isn\u2019t over yet. It\u2019s not a 60% — or even over 50% majority of people want to hang around with their hands out. We\u2019re not there yet. We\u2019re not there. It isn\u2019t over.<\/p>\n

CALLER: All right. I\u2019m with you. I\u2019m not going anywhere.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I might be. But — (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) I want to go with you, baby.<\/p>\n
