I told the president twice, in two different meetings, that I couldn\u2019t support the bill if it didn\u2019t have a robust public option, and if it didn\u2019t have something that was going to protect consumers from these rapid premium increases &#8212; and, you know what? The White House counsel is wavering. To hear the president you\u2019d think that he was for single payer, at least the public option, but he\u2019s not. This bill represents a giveaway to the insurance industry, $70 billion a year, and no guarantees of any control over premiums, forcing people to buy private insurance, five consecutive years of double-digit premium increases. I\u2019m sorry. I just don\u2019t see that this bill is a solution.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Lawrence O\u2019Donnell is the host here and doesn\u2019t like what he\u2019s hearing here. He said, &#8216;So did we just get a &#8216;no\u2019 there, Kucinich? You\u2019re going to vote against the Senate bill, the first stage of this process in the House?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>KUCINICH: If that sounded like a &#8216;no,\u2019 you\u2019re correct.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019DONNELL: (snorts) O-okay. Would you be comfortable if it turns out you are, in effect, the single vote that defeats health care reform?<\/p>\n<p>KUCINICH: Every vote counts. I\u2019m one of 435 members of the House of Representatives. <\/p>\n<p>RUSH: All right, we don\u2019t need to hear the rest. &#8216;Do you reeeeeeally want to be a guy that kills Obamacare?\u2019 They asked that of Scott Brown.
