CALLER: Hey, Rush. How are you doing?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good. Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush. I\u2019m very excited to talk to you. I\u2019ve been listening to you for like 15 years. Let me pull over here so I don\u2019t lose you. Rush, I\u2019ve got a comment that I don\u2019t know about. There\u2019s probably not a solution to it, but it\u2019s a frustration of mine. I am conservative, a fiscal conservative. This fiscal insanity of the debt, all of it is just driving me nuts. The taxation, the huge government, the whole thing, it\u2019s all driving me crazy, and I have a couple kids in college and what I\u2019m hearing from them is what I\u2019m hearing from a lot of people where I live: We drive away a lot of people with the religious component of the conservative platform. It scares them to death. When they think of conservatives they think of just that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, let me ask you a question: What do you think we should do about those Christians?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t know. I just… I don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t have an answer. But I know that\u2019s a fact.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do your kids tell you this is what they\u2019re hearing or do you hear it or do you think it yourself?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I hear this from my daughters. I\u2019ve got one daughter who is a staunch conservative and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Where does she go to school?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Pardon me?<\/p>\n

RUSH: What school does she go to?<\/p>\n

CALLER: She goes to Washington and Lee (University) in Virginia.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Washington and Lee in Virginia. Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Which is a very conservative bastion. My other daughter goes to… I live in Charlottesville, which Neal Boortz refers to as ‘the People\u2019s Republic of Charlottesville.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I was going to say.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So we\u2019re in the minority. My other daughter goes to VCU (Virginia Commonwealth University) in Richmond and is very liberal, and I can\u2019t talk to her because of this issue. She knows the debt is insane. She knows the big government doesn\u2019t work.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know this is really about abortion, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, I think it comes down to that. I do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Does your wife henpeck you about it? <\/p>\n

CALLER: What\u2019s that?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Does your wife henpeck you about it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: N-not at all. No. I mean… No. We\u2019re —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because I\u2019ve heard this. I was at a party in the Hamptons back in the early nineties. This is a really, really powerful party. I don\u2019t want to mention the names but you would know every Republican that was at this dinner party. After dinner we went out on the deck of this man\u2019s house.
