CALLER: Twenty-eight-day dittos, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, this is a great opportunity for the nation to see Chicago politics at work up close and personal. ‘They pull a knife, you pull a gun.\u2019 This guy, if he can\u2019t cut you off at the knees, he\u2019ll figure out a way to buy you off, and you\u2019re already starting to see it. ‘Everybody has their price.\u2019 That\u2019s the motto in the White House and that\u2019s the motto in Chicago. It\u2019s always been that way. I\u2019m 54 years old, and I\u2019ve seen this every day. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: People will just fall in the wake of this man, and he doesn\u2019t care their collateral damage.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Everybody has their price, everybody has a past. Everybody has a scandal, large or small, in their lives. Of course. There\u2019s nothing that these people will not use.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, do you know what\u2019s going on right now — I think you hit on this a couple days ago; I\u2019m sure you know about it — with Rahm Emanuel leaking out that he\u2019s a little discontent with his boss? There\u2019s a Senate race going on in the state of Illinois for his seat, between Mark Kirk and this guy Alexi Giannoulias, who has a really shaky past. The president\u2019s already endorsed him, and they\u2019re now talking that they\u2019re going to try and convince this guy to relinquish his primary win. Then the rumor is Rahm Emanuel will come in and take the seat.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hmm. Interesting. Well, I know that we\u2019ve chronicled here at great length the contretemps going on between Rahm Emanuel and Barack Obama inside the Beltway media. And it is unusual because the president\u2019s the one that\u2019s taking it on the short end here and it\u2019s unusually the other way around. Chiefs of staff do not prevail in public, behind-the-scenes battles with the president of the United States. We\u2019ll keep a sharp eye on this.
