CALLER: Oh, my God, Rush, this is the greatest honor of my life.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you. Thank you very much. I appreciate that. I understand it, too.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m 56. I travel all over the world, and I\u2019m an educator, and I\u2019ve also been in business, so I\u2019ve been on both sides of this thing, and I teach theater, and I\u2019m calling about the Camelot allegory.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know, it\u2019s a perfect myth to address this whole thing with Obama because if you follow the whole play to the end, at the end Camelot is destroyed by the illegitimate son of King Arthur and a tryst with queen of the fairies.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes. Yes!<\/p>\n

CALLER: And that\u2019s Mordred, and he comes back in and he attacks Camelot and destroys it. And he sings this song called the Seven Deadly Virtues, and it would be like a perfect thing for Obama\u2019s voice to be singing that, it\u2019s incredible. And you have King Arthur would have been I guess Kennedy, and Lancelot would be Clinton, and Carter is the crazy King Pellinore, who\u2019s the guest of King Arthur. So I mean the allegory is perfect.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, who would Obama be? Queen of the fairies?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Obama is Mordred.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Who?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mordred.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Mordred.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The illegitimate son who destroys Camelot.<\/p>\n

RUSH: For the sake of peace for me over the weekend, would you spell fairies as in queen of fairies?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think her name is Morgause. All you have to do is get the script for Camelot —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no. I totally understand. But you said queen of fairies.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. King Arthur went into the forest and was subdued by trickery, witchcraft, and then the queen —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — had a relation with him, and the child of that illegitimate relationship was Mordred.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right, but she was queen of what, the fairies, I just need you to spell fairies.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Fairies, like the mythical the Tinker Bells that are in the forest.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, f-a-i-r-i-e-s.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Fairies.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because he said it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) What?<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) I just want a peaceful weekend.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, well, thank you so much. It\u2019s a great honor to be on your show.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Joseph, that\u2019s great. It\u2019s a great idea, and we\u2019ve got just the guy to put this together, just the guy. Paul Shanklin, white comedian, to put this together. You know we\u2019re calling it Camelnot now because the last Kennedy is leaving Congress, the last Kennedy is leaving Washington.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Camelot ends with a horrible ending. Why would they choose that for the allegory of their, you know —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you know, they didn\u2019t choose that until after JFK was assassinated, and I think it was Jackie O and Ted Sorensen who came up with that. <\/p>\n

CALLER: The ending is not good.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Manufacture a public image. It was great marketing at the time, and the press, the press is still longing for the next one.
