He’s out in Elyria, Ohio, today with a jobs and economic town hall. Big whoop! Folks, if I had the power he’s got, I could create more jobs in 25 minutes than he’s gonna create in four years. If I had the tools that he has at his disposal I could create more jobs in 25 minutes than this guy is going to create in four years. I must really be getting to this guy, because he just said, ‘There are some people in this country that think if Obama loses, they win. But when you win, I win.’ Well, uh, no. When he wins, we lose, folks!

He said, ‘I coulda had high poll numbers if I didn’t do anything. But when I came into office, I inherited an economic mess.’ He’s back to whining like a wiiiittle, bitty baby. ‘I could have high poll numbers if I didn’t do anything, if I didn’t want to offend anybody. I want you to understand, this is not about me. It’s about you.’ It’s all BS. Everything is about him, and we’re gonna put it to music here. Everything’s about him. He can’t get me off of his mind, and I still want Obama to fail. Shout it!

(playing of Obama parody song: I’ll Bring It Down)

RUSH: Doing that today, too.

(continued playing of song)

RUSH: Whatever, he is bringing it down.

(continued playing of song)

RUSH: He’s going to keep ‘fighting’ for health care reform. Good! Keep it alive for another six months! Why don’t you keep it alive for November. He says, ‘I signed credit card reform just for you,’ he’s telling these people, and, ‘Some people are telling you that they win if Obama loses,’ and that’s true. Ever so true. ‘US investors overwhelmingly see President Obama…’ This is Bloomberg, by the way. ‘US investors overwhelmingly see President Barack Obama as anti-business and question his ability to manage a financial crisis, according to a Bloomberg survey. The global quarterly poll of investors and analysts who are Bloomberg subscribers finds that 77 percent of US respondents believe Obama is too anti-business and four-out-of-five are only somewhat confident or not confident of his ability to handle a financial emergency. The poll also finds a decline in Obama’s overall favorability rating one year after taking office. He is viewed favorably by 27 percent of US investors. In an October poll, 32 percent in the US held a positive impression.’ So 27% approve of investors approve of Obama, after his one-year jihad against capitalism. After his one-year jihad against capitalism, there are still 27% of investors? Who are they? Are they led by Abraham Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League? Who are these 27%? Are they carbon traders? That’s just amazing.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: You have to hear this, folks. You have to hear this, Obama attacking the banks in Ohio, one man seeking to destroy as much wealth as he can in four years.

OBAMA: I walked into office a year ago in the middle of a raging economic storm that was wreaking devastation on your town and communities everywhere.

RUSH: I made it worse.

OBAMA: We had to take some very difficult steps to deal with that mess, to stave off an even greater economic catastrophe.

RUSH: Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

OBAMA: We had to stabilize the financial system —

RUSH: Yeah?

OBAMA: — which given the role of the big banks in creating this mess, was a pretty tough pill to swallow. I knew it would be unpopular —

RUSH: Blah, blah.

OBAMA: — and rightly so. But I also knew that we had to do it because if they went down, your local banks would have gone down, and if the financial system went down it would have taken the entire economy and millions more families and businesses with it. We would have been looking at a second great depression.

RUSH: I hate the banks, I despise them, but I had to save ’em, I had to save ’em otherwise we’d all been killed. Now that I’ve saved the banks, I’m going to destroy ’em, I’m going to cream ’em just for you, because I know you hate ’em. I can read the polls, and you hate the banks and you hate their bonuses and so I’m going to make you think I hate ’em too. But I’ve winked at them, I’ve called them and I’ve told them, ‘Look, I’m going to rip you guys publicly. We’re not going to do anything about it, just take it, I’m going to make people think I hate your guts, I’m going to tax the hell out of, you know it’s not going to happen,’ and he goes public and does it, and people get sapped into this again. He ramps up the class warfare in this next bite.

OBAMA: I want to make this absolutely clear. I did not run for president to turn away from these challenges. I didn’t run to kick (applause) these challenges down the road. I ran for president to confront them once and for all. I ran for this office to rebuild our economy so it works not just for the fortunate few, but everybody who is willing to work hard.

RUSH: Of which there are many who can’t find work because of you, sir. He ran for this office to remake this economy, to destroy the capitalist system of this country, and that is his challenge, and he is succeeding way too much. This next one is where he says it’s not about me. There’s some people, though, who think that if he loses, we win.

OBAMA: I want you to understand, this is not about me.

RUSH: Ha-ha-ha-ha.

OBAMA: This is not about me. (applause) This is about you. This is not about me. This is about you. I didn’t take this up to boost my poll numbers. You know, the way to boost your poll numbers is not do anything. (laughter) That’s how you do it. You don’t offend anybody. I’d have real high poll numbers. All of Washington would be saying, ‘What a genius.’ (laughter) I didn’t take this on to score political points. I know there’s some folks who think, you know, if Obama loses, we win. But, you know what? I think that I win when you win.

RUSH: He says it’s not about me, and every line was about him and how he could be perceived as a genius, how he didn’t do this for him, he did it for you, didn’t do it for himself, did it for you, did it for us. Everything in this paragraph was about him. Why would he need to say any of this? Why would he have to say it isn’t about me? (imitating Obama) ‘I didn’t pick this up to kick it down the road. To boost my poll numbers I’d have to do nothing.’ We’d all be so much better off if he had done nothing. Do you realize if he hadn’t done anything how much — I could create more jobs in 25 minutes than this clown is going to create in four years. Here’s one more bite.

OBAMA: So long as I have some breath in me, so long as I have the privilege of serving as your president, I will not stop fighting for you. I will take my lumps. (applause) But I won’t stop fighting to bring back jobs here. I won’t stop fighting for an economy where hard work is rewarded. I won’t stop fighting to make sure there’s accountability in our financial system. I’m not going to stop fighting until we have jobs for everybody.

RUSH: Substitute the word ‘speechifying’ for ‘fighting,’ ’cause that’s all he’s doing. He’s one of these coulda, woulda, shoulda guys. You know what a coulda, woulda, shoulda guy is, Dawn? You probably dated a bunch of them.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I want you to play sound bite 30 again before we go to sound bite 31. Because, folks, this is his first campaign speech of the year. That’s all this is. It’s called a town hall meeting, but it’s a campaign speech, and it’s all about him. What they’re doing here is taking Obama back to the cocoon of his comfort — which is a campaign — at a time when he was considered The Messiah, when he was considered The One, when he was considered transformational. You know, he keeps talking about, ‘And I want to rewaaaaard people for hard work!’ What has he ever done to help reward hard work? What has he done? Folks, he hasn’t done anything good for anybody or anything other than him. Now, while he’s talking, he’s out there at a jobs summit. He’s out there at a jobs and economic town hall. From State-Controlled AP: ‘Unemployment rates rose in 43 states last month, the government said today, painting a bleak picture of the job market that illustrated nationwide data released two weeks ago.’

So he’s out there in Ohio. He’s not creating one job, by the way. He’s not saving one job. He’s a coulda, woulda, shoulda guy. Now, you women… ‘Cause it’s women who have told me about coulda, woulda, shoulda guys. They’re smooth. They’re primarily smooth and they may be good-looking. But they’re always on-the-come. Something is always going to happen down the road, and when it doesn’t happen, it shoulda happened. And then when it shouldn’t have happened, ‘It woulda if only this had happened,’ and then the cycle repeats itself. ‘Something big’s going to happen. I’m on the verge of it,’ and then it doesn’t happen, ‘It woulda happened if you hadn’t gotten in my way. It woulda happened if Limbaugh hadn’t have gotten in my way. It woulda,’ and then after that phase passes, ‘It shoulda happened. It’s not fair! It shoulda.’ Then the whoooole cycle repeats. </line>
</line>
Coulda, woulda, shoulda. </line>

Women, ladies, you are looking at a coulda, woulda, shoulda guy. He doesn’t accomplish anything. He doesn’t solve anything. There are no solutions. He demands solutions, but he doesn’t create solutions. He’s an agitator. He’s an organizer. He’s not a leader. Alinsky told us the difference in the two. Agitators do not become leaders by definition. Agitators demand things. Agitators are coulda, woulda, shoulda guys. Now, get this. ”Nationally, more than 600,000 people left the labor force in December, according to government data. The large exodus from the labor force indicates that ‘unemployment is a lot worse than the numbers suggest,” as we have been suggesting for months now. And the second big story: The unions are getting behind the Obama bank tax, which now people are estimating could cost the banks $13 billion, which means it’s going to cost us $13 billion. They’re going to pass as much of it along to us as possible. So here, you listen to these next two bites, one you’ve heard just a moment ago. This is the first campaign speech of 2010.

OBAMA: So long as I have, uh, some breath in me.

RUSH: ‘It’s not about me,’ though.

OBAMA: So long as I have the privilege-of-serving as your president.

RUSH: It’s not about me.

OBAMA: I will not stop fighting to you. I will take my lumps.

RUSH: Not about me!

OBAMA: But I won’t stop fighting to bring back jobs here! I won’t stop fighting for an economy where hard work is rewarded. I won’t stop fighting to make sure there’s accountability in our financial system. I’m not gonna stop fighting until we have jobs for everyb’dy.

RUSH: It’s not about me, though. I’m not going to stop fighting but it’s not about me. It’s not about me! And finally his new campaign theme.

OBAMA: We’re having to fight right now ’cause I wanna charge Wall Street a modest fee to repay taxpayers in full for saving their skins in a time a’need. We want our money back. We want our money back! And we’re going to get your money back. Every dime. Each and every dime.

RUSH: Let me tell you people if you’re in Elyria, Ohio, or anywhere else: You’re not going to see a dime of anything. You’re going to lose money under Obama. Obama is going to take money away from you. These banks have already repaid their TARP loans with interest. He is flat-out lying. ‘I’m going to get them to pay their money back. I was saving their skins at a time of need. I hate ’em, and you should hate ’em.’ Again I ask: What has Obama ever done to reward hard work?

Gary in Minneapolis, I’m glad you called, sir. You’re next on the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Yes. Hello, Rush.

RUSH: How are you, sir?

CALLER: Wonderful. Thank you for everything you do, Rush. Say, I have a question about what Axelrod said yesterday about ‘if the president runs in 2012.’ I’m just wondering if I’m reading too much into that or is it a dream come true here?

RUSH: That’s right. It was Axelrod who said that. I think we’re reading too much into it.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: I think he’s just being humble, trying to be, ‘If the president decides to…’ They’re not going to signal right now he’s not going to run.

CALLER: That’s what I thought. Yeah, okay. There you go, because the only time in my life… I’m 61, and Johnson was the only one that I remember saying anything even close to this, and it wasn’t the first year.

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: So I was just wondering if maybe we can hope that maybe he won’t. You know, because I know a lot that Obama says comes out of Axelrod’s mouth.

RUSH: The only way he won’t run for reelection, Gary, is if there aren’t any elections.

CALLER: (chuckling)

RUSH: If they’ve been done away with.

CALLER: Well…

RUSH: But he’s going to give himself all eight years to transform this country into what he thinks it ought to be: A welfare state. The way to understand this guy is: ‘I’m going to return the nation’s wealth to its rightful owners,’ i.e., union workers, eight percent of the people in this country ‘and minorities. About 10% of the people in this country have built it, and they’ve gotten screwed. Ninety percent of the people have been stealing from those 10% since this nation was founded.’ That’s what he believes. That’s what he’s been taught. Some of you in Elyria, Ohio, at the Obama town hall on jobs, are listening to a man that believes that the country is governed by the aggressive use of speeches. Let me just say again: Obama’s nickname is Mr. Depression. He can have all these campaign slogans and campaign appearances he wants.

And he can shout, ‘We want our money back! We want our money back.’ He is Mr. Depression. He is cracking down on the banks? No, he’s raping the banks. He’s doing it intentionally. In Obama’s world, there will be no insurance companies. The government will handle that. In Obama’s world there will be no oil companies. The government will be in charge of that. Just call him Hugo Obama or Barack Chavez, whichever. There won’t be small businesses or people earning over $250,000 a year, and there won’t be any banks. He’s going to have all those. His paradise sounds like it’s right out of Mao Tse-tung to me. And, meanwhile, my friends, there he is living like a king. His buddies in the unions at the leadership are rewarded with tax dollars that they have not earned, and the government gets bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger.

He’s misusing the language, now talking about an ‘activist court decision’ that simply upholds the First Amendment. He uses the word ‘regulation’ to give the impression of reform or consumerism, but when you hear him use that word, understand that what he means is nationalization in whole or in part. He always wants to do the biggest this, the biggest that ‘since the Depression,’ or ‘since the founding.’ This is a man… Look, they’re making fun of him on CNBC this afternoon for speaking in third person. All about himself. They’re finally remarking on it. This is a guy who is insecure with himself. He craves adulation. That’s why they took him back to Ohio and recreated a campaign-style appearance, because that’s his cocoon of comfort. He craves that adulation, and he’s not getting it by virtue of his job performance.

He confuses ‘big’ with ‘right.’ He confuses ‘massive’ with ‘smart.’ The thing is, he’s outta tricks already in one year. He is already having to go back to the campaign and recycle the one thing that’s worked, and that is the flowery rhetorical flourishes and oratory from the teleprompter. He’s lashing out now. He’s imploding. He’s throwing wild punches in every direction now, hoping something that he throws up against the wall will stick. I think, ladies and gentlemen, there is some instability taking over now with his comments, his actions here. This thing in Ohio today, this makes me very uncomfortable. All about him. I don’t think he could be elected the Chicago City Council today, much less be reelected president.

You tell me: What exactly has he done for the middle class? What exactly has Obama done for small businesses? What, exactly, has he done to bring ethics and accountability to government? What, exactly, has Obama done to improve the economic environment of this country? Zilch, zero, nada. What, exactly, has Obama done to improve education, reading and writing and math, in the schools? Zip! What, exactly, has Obama done to improve conditions in the inner cities? Nothing! And we were supposed to have all these shovel-ready jobs and rebuilding schools and roads and bridges with the slush fund, the stimulus bill, but nothing, folks.

It all went to state workers, government workers. In lieu of doing something substantive and positive, he spends and spends and spends; he attacks, attacks, attacks; and he goes out and makes speeches. Nothing! Literally nothing has improved under this president, nothing. He is petulant. He criticizes everybody else. He’s like a spoiled child, always blaming Bush. He demeans people who have actually created jobs. He demeans people who have created wealth. He arrogantly makes demands, bullies people in businesses. He has no concept of the role of a president or the limits of his intelligence or his abilities, but most Americans now do.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: You know, Obama’s big line now, it’s showing up in almost every speech he makes, ‘We want our money back. We want our money back.’ No, Mr. President, we want our vote back. Millions of Americans want their vote back, Mr. President.

RUSH: So there’s Obama.
