Thank you for taking my call.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You bet.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125111.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"321\" class=\"alignright\"\/>CALLER: Dittos. I have a simple question. Whenever you read a story in a newspaper or hear a report on the television news broadcasts about a state that is Republican controlled, they always refer to that as a red state.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I\u2019m a little bit younger than you are, but when I was growing up, you know, you always hear Red China, you think communist countries, you see red flags. Who is the one to determine that Republican states would be called red and the Democrat\u2019s blue?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I think this was either the media or the Democrats themselves who came up with the categorization. The reason that Democrat states are called blue is because the color of unions is blue. Blue-collar, blue this, blue that. Obama\u2019s logo color is blue. They didn\u2019t want any association with red whatsoever, precisely for the reason that you mentioned. But they\u2019re blue states because they\u2019re blue-collar, unions are blue.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Well, that makes sense. I hadn\u2019t thought of that.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, that\u2019s what I\u2019m here. That\u2019s what Open Line Friday is for. See, you have used the opportunity extremely wisely.
