Rahm Emanuel says &#8216;the message is not getting through.\u2019 The reason the message isn\u2019t getting through is because the facts are. The facts are getting through, and the facts are obscuring the message. Here\u2019s Richard Trumka, National Press Club, AFL-CIO yesterday.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125113.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"307\" height=\"229\" class=\"alignright\"\/>TRUMKA: Instead of taxing the rich, the Senate bill taxes the middle class by taxing workers\u2019 health plans. Not just union members\u2019 health care plans. This is a policy designed to benefit elites &#8212; in this case, insurers, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and irresponsible employers &#8212; at the expense of the broader public.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Uh-huh.<\/p>\n<p>TRUMKA: I can assure you &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yyyyyeah.<\/p>\n<p>TRUMKA: &#8212; that the labor movement &#8212; <\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>TRUMKA: &#8212; is fighting everything with what we\u2019ve got to win health care reform that is worthy of the support of working men and working women. <\/p>\n<p>CROWD: (applause)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: He doesn\u2019t want&#8230; <\/p>\n<p>CROWD: (applause)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: He doesn\u2019t&#8230; <\/p>\n<p>CROWD: (applause)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Shut the applause down! He doesn\u2019t want a tax on these &#8216;Cadillac\u2019 health care plans. He wants taxes on the rich. They\u2019re having problems out there. <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: So Trumka, he doesn\u2019t want taxes on these &#8216;Cadillac health care plans,\u2019 and Obama told union leaders at a White House meeting that he\u2019s committed to taxing these health care plans, but he\u2019s going to work with the union guys to make it work for working families.
