A three-judge panel on the Second Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously overturned a district court judge who ruled the Trump Administration could not withhold grants from sanctuary cities. That was part of the anti-Trump &#8220;Resistance&#8221; movement amongst the judiciary.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-332906\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/2020-APP-Morning-Update.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/2020-APP-Morning-Update.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/2020-APP-Morning-Update-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>In 2017, then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the Department of Justice was going to withhold grant money from states who defied federal immigration law by granting &#8220;sanctuary&#8221; to illegals.<\/p>\n<p>It didn\u2019t take long for the Resistance to act. Seven states &#8211; New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Washington state &#8211; ran to federal court and sued. And as so often happens, coincidentally, the Resistance states found a friendly Resistance district judge to go along with them. The Trump Administration appealed.<\/p>\n<p>So now, finally, we\u2019ve gotten a common sense ruling from the Appellate court. They ruled that of course the federal government can withhold grant money from states who break federal law. It\u2019s a no-brainer!<\/p>\n<p>This will probably end up at the Supreme Court because liberals never give up the fight, no matter how ridiculous or absurd it may be.
