RUSH: Donna\u2019s back from Beaufort, South Carolina. You were just on the verge of telling us what it was you watched on the Oprah show. We lost your call.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Shoot, I don\u2019t watch Oprah, it wasn\u2019t me, that was a girl from North Carolina. (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: My goodness.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, I want to go back to the comment you made about family doctors getting money for college — <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — from the government —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — government had to send them where they needed them.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That was in the Hillary health care plan.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I wanted to go back to 20 years ago when I was a young married woman and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Whoa, whoa, whoa, what are you now?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m a middle-aged married woman.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. All right, so I\u2019m 45. When I was in my early twenties I got married young and I decided I want to go back to college and neither of our parents had the money, which we were married, so, you know, we were on our own, and we didn\u2019t have the money, but I wanted to go back to college and South Carolina has a program called the South Carolina Teachers Loan Program. At that time it was enough money to pay for a four-year college degree. And I live in a small town of 5,000 people, but there is a major state-run university, Clemson University, 30 miles away from me. So I commuted every day. And the South Carolina Teachers Loan Program, if you made good grades and you taught in a critical geographic area, poor area, or you taught in a critical subject area, mathematics, which I did, secondary mathematics, high school math teacher, then they would pay the loan off, and if you do one or the other it was five years, and they still have this loan program but it\u2019s not enough to pay for the outrageous costs that college is today.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, I have to interrupt you here because you just reminded me of something, a story that I had yesterday, didn\u2019t get to, university tuitions all over the place are skyrocketing, and it\u2019s the one thing nobody in government\u2019s doing anything about, complaining about, trying to reverse — <\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — \u2019cause we have the student loan program, we have this loan program, we have that and so forth — so what eventually happened with you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, with me, I was very fortunate to get a job only 20 miles away from my hometown, and they paid for my loan in three years. But because I taught in a critical geographic area and a critical subject area, they paid my loan in three years, so I got a $25,000 education for free. But I taught where they wanted me to, but I was doing what I wanted to do. Now, talking about doctors taking that government money, also with that Teachers Loan Program in South Carolina, I didn\u2019t have to do that. If I had decided when I finished my four-year degree, you know, I don\u2019t want to go into education, I would just have paid it back like a loan. And I\u2019m sure —<\/p>\n

RUSH: What is your point here? You took the loan and they told you where you had to teach?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. Well, my point is you make it sound like it\u2019s a problem for someone to take government money, like a doctor who did not have the money to go to college, and then, you know, the government tells you where you got to go to practice your medicine —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I have a huge problem with that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I have a huge problem with that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. Rush, if you don\u2019t have the money and that\u2019s the only way you\u2019re going to get your education, and it\u2019s probably only for four or five years that I would imagine that they want you to teach in a certain area — I mean practice medicine in a certain area. Okay, let\u2019s go back to the CEO\u2019s high pay —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, let\u2019s not.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, we are.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, we\u2019re not.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, the problem there is, my husband had to take a 13% pay cut this year.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m sure you\u2019re all for that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh we\u2019re loving it. <\/p>\n

RUSH: You are loving that your husband had a 13% pay cut?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I\u2019m being facetious and sarcastic.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you\u2019re being inconsistent because if you think the government should be able to — (crosstalk) she cannot hear me. If you think the government should tell you where you can work because you get a loan from them then you ought to be happy when they cut your husband\u2019s pay or whoever cuts his pay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, the government doesn\u2019t pay my husband\u2019s pay. That\u2019s where you\u2019re wrong. That\u2019s where you\u2019re wrong, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m not wrong.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The government —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I am —<\/p>\n

CALLER: What is natural market —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I am not wrong. That\u2019s what\u2019s so frustrating about this, I am not wrong. These people, they just won\u2019t listen to me. Snerdley, they just will not listen to me, on top of everything else.<\/p>\n
