It was twenty-eight degrees at the start. Three people died. In New England there was a snowstorm yesterday. It was cold, wet and rainy and rainy and spitting snow in a lot of places — in October, October the 18th. Here where we live in South Florida, it was 54 degrees when we got up this morning! It was 54 degrees yesterday when… Well, when they got up. I was not here. I was away, at a super-secret location, doing certain things. Regardless, they’re trying to make this push. It’s like I said yesterday: It isn’t going to be long before Obama is going to have to start paying for heating bills for people in the Northeast because of an advanced early winter arrival. He’s going to be having to pay for people who can’t afford to heat their homes, all the while pushing a global warming bill. It’s going to be fun to watch.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

We just reported that the prime minister of the UK, Gordon Brown, says we’ve got 50 days to save the UK. Fifty days! If we don’t get it done in 50 days, we’re not going to get it done which means, folks, we’re screwed because we’re not going to get anything done in 50 days. Actually he said that yesterday so it’s 49 days. Where’s Ted Danson when we need him? Ted Danson back in 1988 said that we’ve got ten years to save the oceans or we’re all dead, and here it is 21 years later. (laughter) But the World Wildlife Fund, in a story — let’s see, when did this run? Da-da-da-da. Well, recently. The world has less than five years to get carbon emissions under control or runaway climate change will become inevitable. So now we’re confused again. We’ve had other environmentalist wackos saying, ‘It’s too late. We can’t do anything anyway, but we’re still going to do it.’ The hysteria on the left on virtually everything is all over the place. So you gotta hear a voice of sanity in this. Last Wednesday in St. Paul, Minnesota at Bethel University: A portion of remarks made by Lord Christopher Monckton regarding the United Nations climate change treaty.</line>
</line>
MONCKTON: I have read that treaty. And what it says is this: That a world government is going to be created. The word ‘government’ actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity. The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to Third World countries, in satisfaction of what is called, coyly, ‘a climate debt,’ because we have been burning CO2 and they haven’t and we’ve been screwing up the climate. We haven’t been screwing up the climate, but that’s the line. And the third purpose of this new entity, this government is ‘enforcement.’</line>

RUSH: Way back a long time ago — it was after the fall of the Soviet Union, the Berlin Wall came down — I said, ‘Folks, the environmental movement, radical environmentalism is the new home of displaced communists.’ Here’s Lord Monckton.

MONCKTON: How many of you think that the word ‘election’ or ‘democracy’ or ‘vote’ or ‘ballot’ occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of that treaty? Quite right! It doesn’t appear once. So at last the communists who piled out of the Berlin Wall and into the environmental movement and took over Greenpeace so that my friends who funded it left within a year because they’d captured it. Now the apotheosis is at hand. They are about to impose a communist world government on the world. You have a president who has very strong sympathies with that point of view. He’s going to sign. He’ll sign anything. He’s a Nobel peace laureate. Of course he’ll sign it!

RUSH: That’s Lord Monckton, by the way. This is last Wednesday in St. Paul, Minnesota. Here is the final sound bite.

MONCKTON: So, thank you, America. You were the beacon of freedom to the world. It is a privilege merely to stand on this soil of freedom while it is still free. But in the next few weeks, unless you stop it, your president will sign your freedom, your democracy, and your prosperity away forever — and neither you nor any subsequent government you may elect would have any power whatsoever to take it back again. That is how serious it is.

RUSH: Lord Christopher Monckton — who has repeatedly asked, by the way, to debate Algore on the whole subject, and Algore refuses. Algore won’t even take questions about it. ‘Never, ever, ever get it back,’ because did you hear the first bite? He said regardless who we elect in the future, ‘You’ll never, ever get it back.’ Because if the climate treaty is passed, we’ll be living under a world government, and the idea is a transfer of wealth from countries like ours to the Third World to make even how we have polluted the planet all these years and they haven’t. So, by Jove, it’s very serious stuff here. Lord Monckton is desperately trying to be heard. (interruption) Well, unless something happens we are screwed, yes. That’s what he’s saying.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Here’s Gordon Brown, the UK prime minister, in London yesterday at a Major Economies Forum. Fifty days to save the planet.

BROWN: In every era, there are one or two moments when nations come together and reach agreements that make history because they change the course of history. And Copenhagen must be such a time. There are no fewer than 50 days to set the course for the next few decades.

RUSH: Or we face catastrophe.

BROWN: If we do not reach a deal over the next few months let us be in no doubt since once the damage from one checked emissions growth is done no retrospective global agreement in some future period can undo that choice. By then, it will be irretrievably too late. We should never allow ourselves to lose sight of the catastrophe we face if present warming trends continue.

RUSH: Warming trends. There are at least two different worlds people live in, and there might be three. And it’s becoming increasingly clear that there are no bridges between those worlds. You don’t cross back and forth from one world to the next. You exist and live in your own world. More and more people are talking at one another, not to one another, and certainly not with each other. It’s the most divisive I have ever seen the country and the socialists are on the march and they’re making no bones about what they’re up to now and they will use every lie in the book to accomplish what they want to accomplish. One more from Gordon Brown, by the way.

BROWN: Ninety-eight percent of those dying and otherwise seriously affected live in the poorest countries and yet their countries account for only 8% of global emissions.

RUSH: So what?

BROWN: This is the great injustice of climate change. Those being hit first and hardest by climate change are those who have done least to cause it.

RUSH: This is how they always — climate change killing people now? I want to see the death certificates. I want to see the names of the dead and the cause of death listed ‘climate change.’ This is just tugging at people’s heartstrings. They want you to feel sorry for the poor and the miserable around the world and then to get you to believe you’re responsible for it. This is insulting to the intelligence. Ninety-eight percent of those dying and otherwise seriously affected live in the poorest countries? Nothing new about that and the basic problem is that there’s not enough capitalism in these countries, there’s not enough wealth being generated. There’s too much government, there’s too much socialism. There’s too little freedom. There is tyranny in the places he’s talking about and blames it on the climate? And of course who’s responsible for that? Why, us and his people, his country, Western democracies, the advanced lifestyles of the world, that has given the world so much, we are to blame, we’ve got to be cut down to size, and in this, Barack Obama is no different than some of these worldwide socialists or fascists or whatever you wish to call ’em. It is all about establishing power over as many people as possible, and the destruction of prosperity and freedom. Lord Monckton is exactly right. Now, look how long it took his words to get out, last Wednesday to today. Gordon Brown spoke yesterday, and everybody hears his words the same day and the following day.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: This is Micah in Shreveport, Louisiana. Great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Hey, Rush, how’s it going?

RUSH: Good, sir. Thank you.

CALLER: Hey, I just want to get back to what you were talking about a little bit earlier about Gordon Brown, his comments about global warming. And I was just wondering what you think. Obviously, as I’m sure you’re aware, he’s looking electoral defeat coming up here —

RUSH: Big time.

CALLER: And I was just wondering if you think his global warming strategy is part of maybe a chance to, I don’t know, like a Hail Mary that he’s throwing up here or where he’s trying to go with this?

RUSH: Yeah, you’re right.

CALLER: He’s a lame duck so —

RUSH: You’re right but if you think it’s a Hail Mary to get reelected in the UK, wrong, it’s a Hail Mary for the European Union to pick him up and put him in a position of prominence to advance the global agenda that just includes global warming. But plus, Micah, don’t forget, the guy is a socialist; he believes this drivel. These people believe it. They want it to be true because that’s how it advances their vision of things. But, yeah, he’s throwing a Hail Mary here for a whole lot of reasons. But like a lot of people, what he’s saying is intended for an audience other than the obvious. We think his comments are aimed at the votes in UK. I think it’s aimed at his fellow globalists who will have the power to enrich him personally by putting him in charge of something very powerful if he is defeated. So he’s covering his bases both ways. I mean it’s a den of thieves, Micah, the way these people operate. They go in and out of government, from their think tanks, to their UN agencies, to the media. It’s a giant revolving door. Yeah.

CALLER: Okay, Rush. Yeah, I think I agree with you there.

RUSH: It’s a very wise thing to do.

CALLER: I just don’t see how he thinks that, at least in his own country, he’s going to be able to implement any kind of changes with the situation electorally that he’s facing.

RUSH: Well, that’s it. The whole thing is to get countries like his and the United States and Obama to sign onto this. That’s how it’s done. It’s turning over sovereignty to a United Nations agency. If this climate change protocol treaty, whatever the new one’s called, if this thing in Copenhagen in December, if it passes, it’s what Lord Monckton was saying, our sovereignty is over and so is Judd Gregg. Our economic policies, our energy policies, are going to be subordinated to what the world body at the United Nations will allow us and not allow us to do. That’s what’s at stake here. And there’s a lot of money and a lot of power in this kind of an agency, if this kind of thing ever gets ratified. Lord Monckton is saying, hey, he’s going to vote for it. He got the Nobel Peace Prize; he’s gotta vote for garbage like this. This is why they gave him the prize, meaning President Obama. Thanks, Micah, for the phone call. Appreciate it.

<paragraph xmlns:tmp="http://ez.no/namespaces/ezpublish3/temporary/"/>
BREAK TRANSCRIPT</line>

RUSH: Paula in Salem, Missouri, welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Hi. Thanks for taking my call.

RUSH: Yes, madam.

CALLER: Last night my husband and I were watching Breitbart’s Big Hollywood. They were streaming live the documentary about climate change, Not Evil Just Wrong, I believe was the title of it.

RUSH: Yeah.

CALLER: And afterwards they had a panel, John Fund was one of the panel members —

RUSH: Oh, yes.

CALLER: — for questions from the audience, they had a live audience there. And at one point he — and I don’t want to misquote him, and I don’t have anything written down, but this was my interpretation.

RUSH: Doesn’t matter. You’re going to do a far better job than the media who were there reporting it.

CALLER: Well, yeah, I am trying to be honest, I am, you’re right. Anyway, if I understood what Mr. Fund said, he said that basically we don’t have to be concerned about climate change legislation passing this year, it’s not going to happen, it’s dead. People were responding by getting kind of excited, you could say tell, and he said, however, he said the problem is, is that the Supreme Court has handed the Obama administration what they need, and again I’m not quoting him exactly.

RUSH: I can tell you exactly what he told you, I didn’t see it, but the Supreme Court has given the Environmental Protection Agency the total right to regulate carbon emissions, without legislation.

CALLER: Correct.

RUSH: So cap and trade can happen anyway without the legislation. That’s what Fund meant.

CALLER: Exactly. Okay, thank you. That is what I understood, what you just said, and —

RUSH: Well, then you are two years ahead of the game of the average mainstream media person.

CALLER: Oh. Good for me.

RUSH: Yes. But there’s another —

CALLER: — what do we do?

RUSH: — there’s another element to this, though.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: The other element is we’ve got cap and trade, screw that, EPA, we got the global climate treaty coming up in Copenhagen which will put everything — if this thing ever gets ratified — remember this treaty, the Senate has to ratify it, Obama has to present it. If the Senate ratifies it, whenever that happens, at that point we would be under the auspices of a United Nations agency on carbon emissions. I mean they’re coming at us two ways on this, three: Legislation, EPA by fiat, and the UN climate change, blah, blah, whatever international panel, the Screw the World Panel. And your question, what can we do?

CALLER: Yes, sir. That’s my question.

RUSH: It’s more town halls; it’s more tea parties; it’s more letting everybody in the world know that this isn’t going to happen, because the more those things do happen, the more people on the fence in the country understand, get interested and find out about it themselves. Right now public opinion, until next November’s elections, moving it is the best thing that we can do. And that will lead to hopefully a good outcome in the elections in 2010. All of this is why Obama is hustling to get all of this done before then. I keep saying, ‘It’s very, very dark days.’ But you’re doing more than you think you’re doing by staying informed, spreading the word on this, staying involved. I would urge more of that.

RUSH: We have the prime minister of the UK, Gordon Brown, saying that the UK ‘faces a catastrophe of floods, droughts, and killer heatwaves if world leaders fail to agree on a climate change.’ He said negotiators had ’50 days to save the world from global warming and break the impasse.’ The Detroit marathon was […]

<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v17.6 -
