They want our troops home.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>AXELROD: It\u2019s the first obligation of the president to keep the American people safe. He\u2019s going to make the decisions that he thinks offer us the best opportunity in this regard. I guarantee you that he\u2019s not sitting there &#8212; as much as I know you guys love your polls &#8212; he\u2019s not sitting there reading the NBC poll this morning and thinking, man, I need to address my strategy.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: He\u2019s a jackass.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: David Axelrod there saying that Obama doesn\u2019t listen to polls, doesn\u2019t read polls, doesn\u2019t care what NBC says, and the first obligation of the president is to keep the American people safe. No, the first obligation of this president is to make sure our enemies are not offended. Now, yesterday &#8212; and I got a lot of grief on this, caught a lot of grief in the e-mail. Yesterday, I kind of lost it toward the end of the program, all the sound bites and Afghanistan was a big subject yesterday and, you know, the general says we need 40,000 more troops or we\u2019re gonna lose and Obama says, well, let me think about it, and the Washington Post says, well, maybe he\u2019s forgotten his policy that he instituted in March. Maybe he\u2019s forgotten it? Then they were all worried about the leak, how did this even get leaked, who did it? Did Obama leak it to back himself into a corner? It was absurd. And then Hillary weighed in, general doesn\u2019t know what he\u2019s talking about, a nice guy, doesn\u2019t know what he\u2019s talking about. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125111.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"702\" class=\"alignright\"\/>Hillary Clinton, secretary of state, with her many years of military experience and training, tells us that the general doesn\u2019t know what he\u2019s talking about. I made mention of the fact that she once tried to join the Marines, that\u2019s as close as she got, I couldn\u2019t remember if it was the Marines or the Army, and she tried to say they wouldn\u2019t let her in because they were sexist and she was a woman and that wasn\u2019t the reason. They didn\u2019t have uniforms or boots big enough to fit that butt and those ankles. Now, I caught hell for that. Well, not a lot of hell, but I mean there\u2019s some people out there that were upset. It\u2019s kind of like my mother. You know, early on in this program\u2019s existence, probably was in the first three months, I happened to make a comment that I thought Amy Carter was the most unattractive presidential daughter. And my mother called me that night, &#8216;You can\u2019t say that. People can\u2019t help the way they look. You can\u2019t start saying that about people. People are not going to take you seriously. You destroy every bit of credibility when you start talking like that. Besides, you forgot about Margaret Truman.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>My mother was a natural comedian. So I get all this grief from people, so we went back to the archives and here\u2019s the audio sound bite. June 15th, 1994, from my television show, this clip of Hillary Clinton telling the story, going into her local recruitment office in 1975, she was telling the story to the League of Women Voters, and the laughter that you will hear is from my studio audience.<\/p>\n<p>HILLARY: I think it was just my bad luck that the person who happened to be there on duty could not have been older than 21, was in perfect physical shape, so I sat down and I said, &#8216;You know, I wanted to explore,\u2019 I didn\u2019t know whether I thought active duty would be a good idea, reserve, you know, maybe National Guard, something along those lines, I was already a lawyer, I thought there were some roles I could perform. I was going on and on, you know, trying to justify my existence and this young man looked at me and he said, &#8216;How old are you?\u2019 I said, &#8216;Well, 27.\u2019 He looked at me, and in those days that was before I learned how to wear contact lenses, I had these really thick glasses on.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yeah, so it was ageism, the Marines didn\u2019t let her in because she was too old and she had bad eyes, bad vision, Coke-bottle glasses, you don\u2019t qualify. This, as I recall, was Mrs. Clinton attempting to establish her credentials as a military person. It\u2019s kind of like she said that she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary who climbed Mt. Everest. The only problem with that, that nobody had ever heard of him when she was born. He hadn\u2019t yet climbed the mountain. She just totally made it up. So I\u2019m telling you, the real reason that she didn\u2019t get in the Marines was not the Coke-bottle glasses. They just didn\u2019t have uniforms that fit. It\u2019s that simple.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Let\u2019s not forget, by the way, Mrs. Clinton, the Marine business, she doesn\u2019t look that good in those Mao style pantsuits that she wears now, either. I mean it is what it is. You are who you are, Bill Parcells. You can say you have a lot of moral victories and your record is 4-12 but you\u2019re still 4-12 at the end of the season. You don\u2019t look good in Mao style pantsuits, you don\u2019t look good in Mao style pantsuits. I remember Maureen Dowd wrote a piece saying Hillary was lying about that. I don\u2019t know.
