You know, I guess I\u2019m wrong. I thought this guy worked for McCain or some McCain-like Republican. Apparently, the last Republican he worked for was Giuliani in 2000, best anybody can determine. Anyway, Rick Wilson &#8212; and he was the guy making fun of Trump voters on CNN Saturday night along with a New York Times reporter and Don Lemon, of CNN, who was laughing hysterically and uncontrollably.<\/p>\n<p>There has been a tremendous amount of fallout.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: As I mentioned, there has been a lot of fallout to the CNN segment on Saturday night where Rick Wilson and Don Lemon and some other guy from the New York Times were literally making fun of, mocking, and laughing at Trump voters as a bunch of hayseed hicks who are incapable&#8230; (impression) &#8220;Yeah, they think they\u2019re so smart. They got their geometry; they got their math. We\u2019re the ones&#8230; We\u2019re the smart ones. It\u2019s you elites that don\u2019t know what you\u2019z talking about, you elites. You &#8212; you &#8212; you\u2019re the real scum out there.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MRC TV video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mrctv.org\/embed\/546709\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Don Lemon was laughing so hysterically, he\u2019s now saying (sputtering), &#8220;I &#8212; I &#8212; I was laughing at the joke. I wasn\u2019t laughing at the characterization of people.&#8221; Don, admit it. You were laughing at the characterization of Trump voters \u2019cause that\u2019s what got you off, Don. That\u2019s what you loved! Ivanka Trump tweeted the following: &#8220;You consistently make fun of half the country and then complain that it is divided. The arrogance, mocking accents and smug ridicule of this nation\u2019s \u2018Real Elites\u2019 is disgusting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Meaning the Rick Wilsons and all of these others &#8212; the Never Trumpers and all the other people &#8212; who engage in this, they\u2019re supposedly the compassionate ones. Isn\u2019t it amazing? These are the people that tell us Trump is unqualified \u2019cause he\u2019s got bad manners, because he talks in ways that are unacceptable, and these people go out and actually say far more insulting, mocking things than Trump does.<\/p>\n<p>It really is stunning. They say (impression), &#8220;Trump is offense to basic civility. Trump is an offense to basic manners,&#8221; and then you look at all of these people that hate him, from the intellectual Never Trumpers to the intellectual erudite media and so forth, and they\u2019re just the epitome of what they criticize &#8212; and it was on full display Saturday night on CNN. The president issued some blowback on it as well.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Okay. So Ivanka Trump with a very clever tweet. &#8220;You consistently make fun of half the country and then complain that it is divided.&#8221; The irony here is just too great. These people &#8212; these smarmy, holier-than-thou people &#8212; who sit there and talk about their own super morality and their own sophistication, their owner manners, and they sit there (impression), &#8220;Trump is an offense to our country! He\u2019s an offense to the presidency! He\u2019s an offense to the Washington culture!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-334911\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/APP-012920-Tweet-Ivanka.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/APP-012920-Tweet-Ivanka.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/APP-012920-Tweet-Ivanka-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And yet the very people who engage in those kinds of claims and criticisms themselves descend into the very behavior they mock and criticize. For his part, Trump shredded Don Lemon, called him &#8220;the dumbest man on TV.&#8221; I wonder where he heard that? That\u2019s been my title for Don Lemon ever since I heard him say that the missing Malaysian airliner could have been swallowed up by a black hole. Anyway, the president was just savaging CNN and Don Lemon for putting all this on.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Rick Wilson, as I say, I tried&#8230; I\u2019m confusing him with somebody. I know I\u2019m confusing him.. There\u2019s somebody out there that worked for Denny Hastert that has moved on to some other people. His name\u2019s Rick or John or something. These guys are so interchangeable that I get \u2019em confused. But this guy Rick Wilson that was on CNN Saturday lives in Tallahassee. (impression) &#8220;He looooves dooogs. He loves to go hunting out there.&#8221; He hates Trump.<\/p>\n<p>He is pathological in his hatred for Trump. He\u2019s got a group called&#8230; What is it? What\u2019s the name of his group? It\u2019s a PAC. I thought I had the name of it right here. Lincoln Project. The Lincoln Project is what it is, and on the Lincoln Project website &#8212; audio sound bite number 6 here &#8212; this is an ad that Rick Wilson produced. This is what he does when he\u2019s not on CNN. He\u2019s running ads against Republicans! This one, this is an ad against Martha McSally in Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>ANNOUNCER: Martha McSally, Arizona rejected you in 2018, and you know why! You were too close to Donald Trump &#8212; and you lost, badly. Now, you\u2019ve gone full Trump, again.<\/p>\n<p>MCSALLY: Manu, you\u2019re a liberal hack. I\u2019m not talking to you.<\/p>\n<p>ANNOUNCER: You knew Arizona wanted the truth. We demanded witnesses and evidence in the trial of Donald Trump. There\u2019s a reason your poll numbers are dropping fast. Arizona has always produced mavericks, true independents, people like John McCain and Barry Goldwater &#8212; senators that served Arizona, people of courage, toughness &#8212; and you, Martha? You\u2019ll be remembered as just another Trump hack.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: So that\u2019s Rick Wilson, and his outfit produces that ad against a Republican. He\u2019s supposedly a &#8220;Republican consultant,&#8221; a &#8220;Republican strategist.&#8221; That\u2019s how he\u2019s labeled on CNN. Well, let\u2019s go back. Here is what happened on Saturday night on CNN Tonight with Don Lemon. It is&#8230; Remember Pompeo really lashed out at an NPR reporter who lied to him about the subject of an interview and lied to him about the conversation after the interview being off the record?<\/p>\n<p>He told this NPR reporter that he was insulted, didn\u2019t let her back on the airplane to cover him and said, &#8220;You don\u2019t even know where Ukraine is on the map. Tell me where it is,&#8221; and she could not identify Ukraine on a map. The NPR reporter thought Ukraine was in Bangladesh. So that news was treated this way on CNN, talking about how stupid Trump couldn\u2019t find Ukraine on a map. Anyway, this was a blowback to Pompeo and the way he dealt with the NPR reporter&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>WILSON: Donald Trump couldn\u2019t find a Ukraine on a map if you had the letter \u201cU\u201d and a picture of an actual, physical crane next to it.<\/p>\n<p>LEMON: (snickering)<\/p>\n<p>WILSON: &#8230;this is, you know, an &#8212; an &#8212; an &#8212; an administration defined by ignorance of the world.<\/p>\n<p>LEMON: (Snort!) (snickering)<\/p>\n<p>WILSON: And so, that\u2019s partly him playing to their base, uh, and playing to their audience. Even though my \u2013\u201d<\/p>\n<p>WILSON: \u201cAnd your math, and your readin\u2019.\u201d (laughing)<\/p>\n<p>LEMON: (laughing)<\/p>\n<p>WILSON: (laughing)<\/p>\n<p>ALI: \u201cYeah, your reading, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>LEMON: (Snort!)<\/p>\n<p>ALI: \u201cYour geography. Knowin\u2019 other countries. Sippin\u2019 your latte.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>LEMON: (guffawing)<\/p>\n<p>WILSON: \u201cAll those lines on the map!\u201d (laughing)<\/p>\n<p>LEMON: (guffawing)<\/p>\n<p>ALI: (laughing) \u201cOnly them elitists know where U-kraine is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Oh, yeah, mockin\u2019 Trump voters as being totally idiotic and hayseed, hick types. Now, the New York Times reporter &#8212; as this thing went on &#8212; finally got a clue. &#8220;This is not looking good for me. I shouldn\u2019t be doing this,&#8221; but it was too late. So there\u2019s been so much blowback on this that Don Lemon has had to go into CYA mode, and this is what he said last night on his show on CNN&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-334629\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/APP-012820-CNN-Lemon-Laughing-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/APP-012820-CNN-Lemon-Laughing-2.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/APP-012820-CNN-Lemon-Laughing-2-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>LEMON: This is personally important to me to address this, okay?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n<p>LEMON: Anyone&#8230; Ask anyone who knows me.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n<p>LEMON: They\u2019ll tell you! I don\u2019t believe in belittling people &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: BS.<\/p>\n<p>LEMON: &#8212; belittling anyone for who they are &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: BS.<\/p>\n<p>LEMON: &#8212; what they believe, or where they\u2019re from. So we now have an out. If somebody tells a joke that\u2019s racist or bigoted, we can laugh at it and we can say, &#8220;Yeahah, we\u2019re not laughing at the people. We were laughing at the joke.&#8221; What? The joke is about a group of people. I\u2019ll tell you something else. Don Lemon does belittle people. He calls Trump voters neo-Nazis. He calls them racists. He belittles people. All of CNN does. There isn\u2019t anybody on CNN that does not engage in this kind of behavior. I mean, it\u2019s what CNN has become known for.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is personally important to address this, okay? Anyone &#8212; ask anyone who knows me.&#8221; That\u2019s the first giveaway. You can\u2019t speak for yourself. Who you are doesn\u2019t tell us who you are. We have to go ask people. You know, Mr. Lemon, that\u2019s not very few away from, &#8220;Hey, I know some black people. I can\u2019t be a racist. You go talk to \u2019em! They\u2019ll tell you. I\u2019m their friend.&#8221; That goes over like a lead balloon.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m telling you, if anybody comes out and says to you, &#8220;You ask anybody who knows me,&#8221; what they\u2019re telling is that who they are is right in front of your face, and you\u2019re not wrong. That\u2019s a dead giveaway: &#8220;Ask anybody who knows me. I don\u2019t believe in belittling people.&#8221; Well, if we have to ask people, there must be some question about it, Don. If we have to ask people who you are and you\u2019re on TV every night &#8212; and if we have to ask people who you are &#8212; why, it may not be perfectly clear &#8212; although I think it is. Well, the GOP was not sleeping.<\/p>\n<p>They turned this whole thing into an ad with other Democrats trashing Trump voters, and we have the audio for it here. It\u2019s audio sound bite number 9. It runs about a minute. Now, it\u2019s a TV ad, so some of the video, obviously, is gonna be missing here. But you\u2019ll get an idea of how the GOP decided to put &#8212; the RNC put &#8212; this thing all together into an ad, the theme of which this is what they really think of you. Prove them wrong in November.&#8221; You heard Hillary Clinton in there. You heard Mayor Pete. He\u2019s the one who said, &#8220;Anyone who supported this president is, at best, looking the other way on racism, at best.&#8221; It was Chris Matthews who said, &#8220;Trump always loves the low-information guy.&#8221; And then the New York Times reporter, Wajahat Ali. And Plugs Biden was in there. So they put the ad together pretty quickly, and it\u2019s effective.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: Don Lemon.
