They produced a fact-check of Obama last night. Here we\u2019ve got the corresponding portions of the speech with the AP Fact-Check. It\u2019s kind of weird here. On this one, the Associated Press says, &#8216;The long-term prognosis for costs of health care legislation has not been good.\u2019 This is what they were fact-checking.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits, either now or in the future. <\/p>\n<p>CONGRESS: (applauds)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: Period.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125112.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"203\" class=\"alignright\"\/>RUSH: He\u2019s just added over the course of the next 10 years 12 to $13 trillion to the deficit! But AP went out and said, &#8216;The longtime prognosis in cost for health care legislation has not been good.\u2019 So they\u2019re basically saying Obama was lying about that. Here\u2019s the next Obama bite they fact-checked.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: Nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have.<\/p>\n<p>CONGRESS: (applauds)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: All right, all right, all right. And the AP Fact-Check story says: &#8216;The Congressional Budget Office analyzed the health care bill written by House Democrats said that by 2016 some three million people who now have employer based care would lose it.\u2019 Well, it\u2019s going to be far more than that. It\u2019s going to be 83 million by the time they finish with this. But even so, the AP fact-checking is calling Obama a liar. Here\u2019s the next portion that they fact-checked.<\/p>\n<p>OBAMA: Don\u2019t pay attention to those scary stories about how your benefits will be cut. That will not happen on my watch. I will protect Medicare. <\/p>\n<p>CONGRESS: (cheers)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, the AP and their Fact-Check story says, &#8216;Obama and congressional Democrats want to pay for their health care plans in part by reducing Medicare payments to providers by more than $500 billion over ten years.\u2019 There won\u2019t be any Medicare benefits cuts? If you\u2019re going to cut payments to the providers, the doctors and hospitals, guess what? You\u2019re going to cut being provided for! Now, that\u2019s just a sample of the AP Fact-Check. And the New York Times is kind of crazy, today. New York Times in their news story on this, it was not complimentary of Obama at all. Their lead editorial was. There were plenty of Drive-Bys today who did what I predicted, &#8216;Oh, he turned it around! Oh, it was a magnificent speech! It may have been the best speech ever.\u2019 David Brooks said it may be the best speech ever. All of our useful idiots, &#8216;Ohhhh, it was so eloquent! Oh, it was Obama at his best,\u2019 but a lot of people on the left were not thrilled with it. David &#8216;Rodham\u2019 Gergen didn\u2019t like it which you\u2019ll hear in a moment.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>David &#8216;Rodham\u2019 Gergen on CNN after the Obama speech was asked by the anchor Wolf Blitzer: &#8216;When all is said and done here, David, a lot of those very nervous Democrats, conservative moderate Democrats they\u2019re worried getting elected next year.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>GERGEN: Had he given this speech three months ago when there was a glow about his presidency, I think he could have flipped the country. It was a very well-crafted speech. But now, given everything that\u2019s happened, I think millions of Americans who voted for him will say tonight, &#8216;We saw the Obama we elected.\u2019 They will be really excited by this speech. But for a lot of others, I\u2019m not sure it moved them very much. We\u2019re so dug in, I\u2019m not sure it moved the people he ultimately needed to move if he wants to reverse the tide.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: And Rasmussen again, to remind you, the poll on Obama\u2019s health care: 44% in favor of, 53% oppose.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: Now, the Associated Press ran a Fact-Check article.
