RUSH: I want to try to put something in perspective for you to show you the real Obama. And if after all of this you don\u2019t see Obama for what he really is, you probably never will. Let me run through this. Obama gave Congress marching orders to produce a health care bill before the August recess. Obama then gave Congress marching orders for each House to pass a version of health care before the August recess. To Obama\u2019s disappointment and the nation\u2019s relief, neither the House nor the Senate passed a bill before the August recess and Obama is left holding the signing pen with nothing to sign. But that\u2019s not the point of this message. Here\u2019s the real point. The closest to passage is the House bill. The one thousand-plus page House bill that could have been voted on, could have been passed by both houses, unquestionably would have been signed into law by President Obama and the story line would have been not only did Obama get his health care reform, he got it on his deadline. <\/p>\n

The one-thousand-page bill is loaded with serious flaws, fatal flaws, flaws that would make health care worse rather than better, would not insure everyone, would be a financial disaster, but Obama woulda signed it. This is what you\u2019ve got to understand. Had he gotten this monstrosity, he would have signed it. (doing Obama impression) ‘I promised health care reform and I delivered health care reform and I\u2019m taking the family on vacation to tour the national parks while you can barely afford to leave the house, but I\u2019m president, you\u2019re not. So screw you. I got health care. I got monument to build for myself and where\u2019s the monuments? Somewhere in South Dakota, but I\u2019m going to build one.\u2019 The left can talk all they want about Nazis, racists, extremists, angry white men, birthers, greedy insurance companies, but the simple truth is, Obama would have signed this into law, and he would have bragged about it. Don\u2019t doubt me. You can close your eyes and picture the screaming headline the New York Times: ‘Obama Gets Health Reform.\u2019 But he would not have gotten health care for all, he would not have gotten better health care, he woulda not have gotten less spending. <\/p>\n

The real Obama would not have cared. He would have got his trophy. Do you realize how dangerously close we came to this? He would have signed it. He would sign it today. The reason I mention this to you is I was back in Snerdley\u2019s office during the top-of-the-hour break, and Snerdley starts, ‘Do you know how he could get his poll numbers back? Do you know how he could get every bit of support he\u2019s lost back?\u2019 I said, ‘How?\u2019 ‘All he\u2019s gotta do, stop these town meetings, just go on television and say, ‘Folks, I\u2019ve heard you. I hear you. You don\u2019t like this plan so I\u2019m taking it off the table. We\u2019re starting from scratch and we\u2019re gonna address it with your concerns in mind. I hear what you\u2019re saying. It\u2019s a bad piece of legislation. I am president of the United States and we\u2019re going to fix it.” Snerdley believes that automatically all of his support would return, the support that he\u2019s lost, because people want to believe in their president. Really? They really wanted to believe in George W. Bush? <\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the problem with that. The problem with that is I don\u2019t doubt some support would come back, but he wouldn\u2019t get it all back because he\u2019s lost the trust of the American people. He woulda signed this and people know he woulda signed it. They know he\u2019s not telling the truth about it. He would not get it all back because he\u2019s lost the trust of the American people. And besides, whatever he came back with, his new substitute bill, whatever he came back with would be just as onerous as this, it would just be a little bit better disguised \u2019cause he is who he is, folks. When he says he\u2019s heard you, it doesn\u2019t mean, ‘Okay, you don\u2019t like this, so we\u2019re going to not do it.\u2019 When he says he\u2019s heard you, if he ever does say this, what he\u2019s really saying is, ‘I gotta come up with a different way of scheming you.\u2019 <\/p>\n

He is who he is. They\u2019ve been trying for this, Obama and his ilk, have been trying for this for 50 or 60 years in this country and they\u2019re going to keep trying no matter how they have to package it, repackage it how many times, they\u2019re going to keep coming for it. I don\u2019t think he\u2019d get all of his support back, Snerdley, because people know he would have signed this, not even knowing what\u2019s in it. Not even knowing everything that\u2019s in it he would have signed it. He doesn\u2019t know what\u2019s in it now. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Mike in Billings, Montana, great to have you on the program, sir. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s my honor to talk to you, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s been 20 years for me trying to get in, former state senator thanks to you, I was elected back in the \u201995 era, and I remember some advice you gave me and it kept me on track, and that was if you\u2019re not part of the solution you\u2019re part of the problem.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s exactly right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I was a Vietnam vet and I got off my duff and signed up and was defeated by 40 votes the first time but kept at it and I was elected for ten years and we took the state majority. And I wanted to leave a message, or have you — Obama\u2019s going to be here in Montana in a couple hours.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He just landed.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. And I think if you have an opportunity to speak to Montanans we are the home of Max Baucus and Jon Tester, and Max said that CHIPS was going to fix everything so he raised the price, et cetera, and that didn\u2019t fix anything, and Jon Tester is relatively new at this, and he can still change his mind and Montanans need to let \u2019em know what they think of the reservation type health care. And if I had my way and I could be there 200 miles away I would and I\u2019d have a sign that says, ‘No Reservation Health Care for Me, Max.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: What do you mean reservation health care?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, we have several reservations, over five, Crow, incidentally Obama is an honorary member of the Crow Tribe, I think they call him Black Eagle.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know, what is reservation health care?<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s like Canadian health care. They have to go through the Indian health service in order to get medical attention and when that\u2019s not available through volunteer doctors they\u2019re sent to the safety net, which is our main system, and that\u2019s why about 50% of the emergency room is full of reservation Indians who can\u2019t get service on the reservation.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Sounds exactly like what Obamacare is going to be. Spread the health care from the Indian reservation around. That sounds exactly like what Obamacare is going to be. Thanks for the call, Mike. Appreciate it. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
