It says, &#8220;Rush, you haven\u2019t commented on Trump\u2019s insulting of John Dingell.&#8221; Well, okay. So Trump is in Michigan. Grab sound bite number 20. Looks like this might be it. In three, two, one, go ahead and hit it.<\/p>\n<p>THE PRESIDENT: Debbie Dingell, that\u2019s a real beauty. I gave the A-plus treatment. Take down the flags. She calls me up. \u201cIt\u2019s the nicest thing that\u2019s ever happened, thank you so much. John would be so thrilled. He\u2019s looking down, he\u2019d be so thrilled. Thank you so much, sir.\u201d I said, \u201cThat\u2019s okay, don\u2019t worry about it. Maybe he\u2019s looking up, I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CROWD: (laughter)<\/p>\n<p>THE PRESIDENT: I don\u2019t know. Maybe? Maybe? But let\u2019s assume he\u2019s looking down. Now they talk about this phony impeachment. And she\u2019s out there, \u201cWell, we have to look seriously at our president because he may have violated the Constitution of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CROWD: (booing)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hd22SGiV3C4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Okay. Now, this &#8212; wait a minute. Now, this is classic. This is classic. This is classic of how Trump is a real guy. Okay. So he goes out of his way to give John Dingell an official farewell funeral. John Dingell\u2019s wife, Debbie, calls him and thanks him profusely. He did something nice, he swept away all partisanship. He could have denied this, just like he could have denied the McCain family the funeral they wanted. But he didn\u2019t. He gave \u2019em the full state funeral.<\/p>\n<p>And what\u2019d they do? They used it to rip him. Now, I don\u2019t know about you, but when I engage in an act of niceness or consideration or do something for somebody and they throw it back in my face, I get offended, even though I don\u2019t allow people to offend me.<\/p>\n<p>I said, &#8220;What the hell is this?&#8221; So he engaged in an act of respect for her husband, John Dingell, who was not a nice guy. We both got an award at some similar thing way, way back a long time ago. Ron Perelman got an award at this thing. It was Brandon Tartikoff, who had become a friend of mine, he was a big network prime time programmer wunderkind, and he presented the case for Ron Perelman, who\u2019s the Revlon CEO.<\/p>\n<p>And somehow I ended up getting an award, I don\u2019t even remember what it was now. But Dingell also got an award and he made a point of coming up to me, \u201cI don\u2019t agree with a thing you say.\u201d I would never think in this circumstance to go up to John Dingell, \u201cI don\u2019t agree with a thing you say.\u201d But he did. He came up to me, \u201cI don\u2019t agree with a thing you say, but nevertheless congratulations on the award.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But he had to preface it with, \u201cI don\u2019t agree with \u2013&#8221; I would never, in a circumstance like that, would never consider that. And as such I\u2019ve never forgotten it. What was the point? So here Trump goes out of his way to give Debbie Dingell what she wants, a nice funeral, but why did he talk about the looking up business? Well, what nobody knows is or what nobody remembers is &#8212; and, no, folks, I\u2019m not defending it or making an excuse. I\u2019m trying to tell you who Trump is.<\/p>\n<p>Trump loves doing nice things for people, and he doesn\u2019t want never ending appreciation, gratitude, and thanks, but it\u2019s like he\u2019s always said, if you hit him, if you come back and attack him, he\u2019s not gonna sit there and take it. So privately she tells him how wonderful it was and how appreciative she is. Publicly she goes and joins chorus about what a reprobate he is and how he deserves to be impeached and how he\u2019s violating the Constitution and everything.<\/p>\n<p>And he\u2019s, \u201cWhat the hell do I have to do?\u201d Well, what people may know and have forgotten, Trump was on Fox News once with Bill O\u2019Reilly. And during that appearance, Trump reiterated that he wouldn\u2019t want to be in a foxhole with McCain. So Dingell tweeted, John Dingell tweeted, &#8220;On behalf of so many of my fellow veterans, please take two running jumps and go to hell, Mr. Trump.&#8221; Anybody remember that tweet? Probably not, CNN\u2019s not gonna drag up that tweet from anywhere. Probably not.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-332111\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/APP-121919-Tweet-Dingle.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/APP-121919-Tweet-Dingle.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/APP-121919-Tweet-Dingle-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I don\u2019t care, Mr. Limbaugh, I don\u2019t care. It doesn\u2019t give the Trump the right to assume that Dingell is in hell.&#8221; Look, I\u2019m not gonna sit here and defend or condemn. I\u2019m just gonna tell you that Donald Trump is like any other normal person, when somebody disses him like this, he\u2019s not gonna sit there and just take it and smile.<\/p>\n<p>Two-faced people. You wouldn\u2019t believe how common this is for people in private \u2013 look, as you know, I never, never want to turn this program into things about me. Sometimes I can\u2019t help it because I am so famous. But I don\u2019t like to be the reason the program becomes about me. But I\u2019m just telling you, it happens a lot, that in private all these people, I\u2019ve run into people in the media who have said horrible, rotten things or repeated them about me and in private they\u2019ll say, \u201cYou know, we gotta do this, I\u2019m sorry, I know you\u2019re a nice guy.\u201d Really? I\u2019m supposed to sit there, \u201cOkay, I understand, go ahead and keep lying. Now I know you don\u2019t mean it. Is that what the message is?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So I\u2019m just telling you this is Trump\u2019s way of reacting to things that he considers to be a lack of respect or being mistreated or what have you. Now, you heard the audience. There might have been some groans in the audience. There might have been some laughter in the audience. There might have been some cheering in the audience. There might have been some booing in the audience.<\/p>\n<p>But the one thing Trump isn\u2019t is anything other than what you think. He doesn\u2019t put on airs. He doesn\u2019t fake it, he doesn\u2019t pretend. He is what he is. And that, folks, is another reason why I think that the Washington, D.C., establishment is so threatened. You\u2019re not supposed to say that, not supposed to do that, that\u2019s bad manners, that\u2019s ill-tempered, that\u2019s impeachable. (interruption) Well, you could say that. He has no filters.<\/p>\n<p>At any rate, I don\u2019t know if anybody remembers that Dingell tweeted, &#8220;Go to hell, Trump.\u201d (interruption) You don\u2019t remember that? (interruption) I\u2019m sure this will be &#8212; well, now it won\u2019t be the only place you hear it because this show is show prep for the rest of the media. Other people will dig up the tweet.
