RUSH: Well, well, well, Dingy Harry has opened up again, ladies and gentlemen. From the Politico posted just about 15 minutes ago: ‘Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid launched his harshest attack on the Republican Party in months, claiming the GOP is ‘being run by a talk show host.\u2019 Reid, armed with a patch of Astroturf, slammed Republicans for sponsoring town hall attacks on Democrats and <\/a>accused the party of waging a barricade on Democratic efforts to pass health care reform legislation. ‘I just want to show you what Astroturf really is,\u2019 Reid said to laughter. ‘They\u2019re taking their cues from talk show hosts, Internet rumor mongers, and insurance rackets.\u2019 ‘I just think, as I\u2019ve said before, it\u2019s not often that you try to blow yourself up, but that\u2019s obviously what they\u2019re trying to do with all this vexatious stuff they\u2019re doing with these meetings, the birthers. It\u2019s a party being run by a talk show host,\u2019 Reid said. &hellip; ‘These guys don\u2019t care about you,\u2019 Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin said of the town hall protesters. ‘They care about YouTube. We can spot a winger,\u2019 Durbin said.\u2019 Dick Durbin, right-winger. We can spot a winger, or wing nut. So Democrat Party, keep showing us who you are, buds, just keep showing us who you are.<\/p>\n

By the way, my brother was very concerned, the dear and devoted David, that I might have reported something incorrect when I said the Washington Times says that the White House says that the war on terrorism is over because he tried to go to the website, it said server error or something. And I said, ‘Dave, no, no, that always happens when they\u2019re overflowing, when they\u2019re inundated, when their server shuts down.\u2019 And I have the story here: ‘It\u2019s official. The US is no longer engaged in a ‘war on terrorism.\u2019 Neither is it fighting ‘jihadists\u2019 or in a ‘global war.\u2019 President Obama\u2019s top homeland security and counterterrorism official took all three terms off the table of acceptable words inside the White House during a speech Thursday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank. ‘The President does not describe this as a ‘war on terrorism,\u2019 said John Brennan, head of the White House homeland security office.\u2019 Unacceptable words, unacceptable words inside the White House. That\u2019s right, Nazis can be Republicans. Yes, calling Republicans Nazis, saying that Republicans showing up at these town hall meetings are wingers and have swastikas, that\u2019s totally acceptable. Sending out e-mails from your own website, having a snitch website, acceptable, but war on terrorism and jihadists, unacceptable inside the White House.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll tell you, what\u2019s happening here right before our very eyes is the presidency of Barack Obama and the Democrat Party leadership in Congress has now positioned itself in direct opposition to the American people. That\u2019s the manifestation of all of this. (interruption) The question is being asked of me by the official program observer, ‘They are a professional politicians, do they not understand the risk here?\u2019 They are not professional politicians. They are authoritarian statists. They are not politicians in the sense of the word. They will become the kind of politician you think when it\u2019s reelection time. Senators, you know, I mean, Reid\u2019s up in 2010. He\u2019s in trouble in Nevada, but he will get serious about being a politician when his reelection comes. Right now this is about authoritative, authoritarian statism. This is about ramming things down people\u2019s throat who don\u2019t want them. This is not about democracy. This is not about being a representative republic. They have now officially lined themselves up against the people. It\u2019s this president and his party against the people of the United States of America. That\u2019s how this has manifested itself. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
