RUSH: Cincinnati. Rosy, hi. It\u2019s great to have you with us.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush, how are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Just fine. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good. Hey, I\u2019m going to try to keep this cohesive. I\u2019m a little bit upset. I just got off the phone earlier with the AARP. And I called to express my concerns about their support of Obamacare. The response I got was there are only a couple of ideas with which they agree or that they would condone, and I said, ‘Well, how do you expect those ideas to remain if we\u2019re under government control? You know, do you trust them to do what they say they\u2019re going to do?\u2019 And their response was, ‘Well, you know, there are a lot of myths about this going on, and you really have to pay attention to which news outlets are giving you correct information.\u2019 And I said, ‘Well, first of all I can discern for myself what this means. But are you telling me that, you know, you think the government is going to do what it says it\u2019s going to do?\u2019 She said, ‘Well, this is not socialized health care.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, wait a minute. She denied a charge that you hadn\u2019t yet made.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly!<\/p>\n

RUSH: So obviously they\u2019re very defensive about this at the AARP. Because the AARP, if they go along with this, is selling every member down the river.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly, and she was very… She said, ‘Look, this is not socialized medicine because people would have the option of keeping their private insurance.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: She\u2019s just ignorant. That\u2019s not true. It\u2019s been proven. With ‘constructive dialogue,\u2019 the president\u2019s lying.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I understand if… You know, whatever counterpoint that I gave her, she would feverishly type on the other end, and obviously a script would come up because it certainly sounded as if she was reading.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh-ho-ho-ho! (laughing) Is that right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) <\/p>\n

CALLER: And, you know, I said, ‘Well, you know, this doesn\u2019t make any sense. How would you expect businesses to remain competitive,\u2019 and, you know, they just really didn\u2019t have any good answers other than, ‘There are only a couple parts of this with which we agree.\u2019 You know, It\u2019s Business 101. It upsets me that no one really protects those that they ostensibly lobby for and no one seems to do due diligence, and obviously someone\u2019s gotten to the head of AARP —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No!<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and no one completes a thought. It doesn\u2019t make any sense, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, it does. You\u2019re just looking at it with the wrong context. You\u2019re looking at it with the wrong premise. It makes total sense when you understand that the AARP is no different than the National Association of Gals, no different from the NAALCP, no different from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. What do they all have in common? They\u2019re liberals. They love big government, and they are totally snowed by Obama, and they\u2019ve got a lot of skin in the game with money that\u2019s going to get kicked back to them from stimulus plans and the health care plan and so forth. So this health care plan is all about Obama taking care of his buddies in the unions and so forth, just like the stimulus was. So you\u2019re expecting them… You have a lot of respect for the AARP, I guess. You\u2019re expecting them to be intellectually honest, so they analyze the plan and stand up for the people that are members of the AARP. That isn\u2019t what they\u2019re about.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well —<\/p>\n

RUSH: They\u2019re about advancing a big government agenda.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Can I tell you what was most telling?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Sure.<\/p>\n

CALLER: At the end it was, you know, she contradicted herself because I gave her the example of, ‘Look, if you got two businesses on the same street. You got a pizza maker here whose bottom line is he makes three bucks a pizza; and, you know, another guy makes four bucks a pizza; and the difference between the bottom line there is that one keeps his private insurance for his employee and the other doesn\u2019t. So to remain competitive, you know, why not dump that private insurance and get on the bandwagon?\u2019 And she said, ‘Well, you know, people do go to jobs for insurance. So why would the company with private insurance dump it for the government insurance?\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I have to know what you said to that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I said, ‘Thank you for your time.\u2019 Clearly, she\u2019s an idiot.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, obviously she\u2019s an idiot. I was being restrained here — <\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggling)<\/p>\n

RUSH: — trying to keep the dialogue constructive.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, my goodness. Well —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Clearly, you were talking to a phone idiot. You were talking to somebody, the purpose of which is to tell you that you\u2019re the idiot, that you don\u2019t know what you\u2019re talking about. That was her job. That\u2019s why she\u2019s typing up your questions and, bam! On her computer screen pops the answer. It\u2019s kind of the way Michael Eric Dyson does ‘first-class intellectualism\u2019 on television shows. He\u2019s got these answers programmed into his mind, and he gets triggered by a keyword in the question, bam! He runs with it. But the businesses will get rid of their private insurance is to off-load the cost.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/line><\/a><\/line>RUSH: So that their bottom line won\u2019t be hurt. That\u2019s one of the selling points Obama knows he\u2019s got. That\u2019s why your private insurance is going to go down the drain and why you won\u2019t be able to keep the plan that you have. Look, there\u2019s been an independent analysis here. The Heritage Foundation has done it. They had an outfit called the Lewin Group. Eighty-three million Americans will lose their own private insurance plans, 83 million will be lopped off and have to go to the public option. Rosy, I appreciate the call.
