RUSH: People remember the last time we discussed Michael Bloomberg, and they\u2019re sending me email. “So, Rush, are you excited about Bloomberg?” Folks, look, I\u2019m not fascinated by it. Bloomberg\u2019s gotten into the race, and we\u2019re gonna talk about it like we talk about everything. Don\u2019t misunderstand me here. But rich people do not fascinate me. So that aspect of Bloomberg is of no interest to me, other than he can spend a whole lot of money.<\/p>\n

\"\"But Jeb Bush spent $100 million and got three delegates. So what\u2019s Bloomberg gonna spend, $200 million for six? Money matters. I understand that. But most of the fascination with Bloomberg people have is he\u2019s rich. I\u2019m sorry. I know a lot of these people. If you want to be fascinated with how they did it \u2019cause it\u2019s so rare, fine and dandy.<\/p>\n

But some of them are blithering idiots, folks. They\u2019re so self-impressed, they don\u2019t think they have to know anything. We\u2019ll talk about it, but no. I\u2019m not… I\u2019m certainly not frightened or scared. I\u2019m more amused than anything about what it\u2019s gonna do to the Democrat side of things. That\u2019s gonna be interesting to me to follow.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look. We\u2019re gonna get to Bloomberg later in the program, folks. But here\u2019s one little tidbit of news. You know, Bloomberg has a news agency. It\u2019s called Bloomberg News. There is no Trump news network. Everybody thinks it\u2019s Fox, but ha-ha-ha-ha. No, it isn\u2019t. But Bloomberg has his own news agency. And it\u2019s one of the many things that has contributed to his obscene, in some people\u2019s view, wealth.<\/p>\n

So Bloomberg News has had to make some policy announcements<\/a>. They\u2019ve had to make some changes in the way they\u2019re gonna go about covering the news. And here is the extent of it. Bloomberg News will not conduct investigative reporting on any of the Democrat presidential candidates. This according to the editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News. This guy\u2019s name is John Micklethwait. He wrote this in a note to staffers.<\/p>\n

He said on Sunday, “We will continue our tradition of not investigating Mike (and his family and his foundation).\u201d Bloomberg\u2019s news agency does not investigate him. Now, you might say, “Well, Rush, if you had a news agency, would you let them investigate you?” Well, no, probably not. But I mean the guy\u2019s running for president and we now learn that Bloomberg News will not cover Bloomberg. Obvious, CEO, owner, founder, head honcho.<\/p>\n

\"\"But now they\u2019ve expanded. They\u2019re not gonna cover any of the Democrat candidates running because that would be unfair. Like if Bloomberg is running in the Democrat — by the way, Bloomberg is gonna skip everything up until Super Tuesday. He\u2019s gonna skip Iowa. He\u2019s gonna skip New Hampshire. He\u2019s gonna skip whatever. And he\u2019s just gonna beeline in for Super Tuesday.<\/p>\n

None of this matters. Bloomberg doesn\u2019t have a chance. And it has nothing to do with any of this. It has nothing to do with policy. It has nothing to do with campaign strategy. It has nothing to do with Bloomberg News. He hasn\u2019t a chance of being elected president. It isn\u2019t going to happen. He could be the best thing that ever happened to America, and he\u2019s not going to be elected president. It isn\u2019t going to happen.<\/p>\n

Now, anyway, \u201cBloomberg News Pledges Not to Investigate Democratic Presidential Candidates.\u201d Now, don\u2019t worry. They will investigate Trump. Oh, yeah. They\u2019ll go out there and they\u2019ll dig up as much as they can on Trump, but they\u2019re not gonna dig up any dirt on any Democrat because they\u2019re not gonna dig up any dirt on the owner, Doomberg. So they want to be very, very fair. So they\u2019re not gonna investigate any Democrat.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here is Jeremy in Clinton, Kentucky. Great to have you up. You\u2019re next, sir. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush. Mega dittos to you, my guy.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. I have a hot take on Bloomberg. I think that he\u2019s running on behalf of the establishment to try to knock out Joe Biden to try to take the upper, white working class vote and knock him out of the primary. That\u2019s kind of my take on it. What do you think?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You mean he doesn\u2019t want to win himself; he just wants to take out Bite Me?<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s what I\u2019m thinking.<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: Okay. If he takes out Bite Me, who wins? Who\u2019s he actually working for if not for himself?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think the establishment wants Warren, and I think that Bloomberg\u2019s every bit a part of the establishment.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Nah. Wait a minute. Let me just tell you something. The financial establishment, the Wall Street establishment, does not want Elizabeth Warren at all. I find this actually kind of humorous. I spent the weekend with some of these people, folks, and I\u2019m telling you, I had my doubts. But I\u2019m telling you that these people, their disgust with her — and it\u2019s rooted in policy, her so-called Medicare for All, all of her spending, her wealth tax plan. These people want no part of her.<\/p>\n

I kind of sit there and chuckle, and I even winked and nodded at a couple of them. I said, “Well, you\u2019ve only got yourselves to blame. You people have been bankrolling this garbage. You\u2019ve been bankrolling the Democrat Party and their candidates, and Warren\u2019s really no different than any of the rest of them. You can\u2019t split the difference between Warren, for example, and Crazy Bernie. They all are gonna spend money that we don\u2019t even have to even print.<\/p>\n

“They\u2019re gonna tax everybody out of existence.” It\u2019s the natural inclination for every Democrat around. But you\u2019re right about one thing. They\u2019re looking at Bloomberg. They\u2019re fascinated with his wealth — and, of course, I\u2019m not. I\u2019m not fascinated by rich people. Hell, I am one. I\u2019m not… I know better. But these people are. They\u2019re just… They\u2019re just like groupies. But they think that Bloomberg can take out Warren, not Biden.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: So I checked the emails during the break \u2019cause sometimes I have time to do that. And I found an interesting one. Sometimes the perception those of you in this audience have astounds me. I\u2019m paraphrasing the email, but the guy: “Mr. Limbaugh, you always have a reason for saying what you say. And you say you\u2019re not fascinated with rich people, and you don\u2019t understand why everybody else is. Why do you think this? Because everybody is fascinated by rich people, at least how they got there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, let me tell you a story, folks. And this little story went a long way. This is 25 years ago, maybe 20. You know, I was thinking the other day, I\u2019m 68, and last week and the week before the shows doing live play-by-play of the impeachment hearings, I don\u2019t think that if that had happened when I was 40, 28 years ago or 45, 22 years ago, I don\u2019t think I would have known enough to be able to do that.<\/p>\n

In other words, there\u2019s something to be said for experience. There\u2019s something to be said for the ongoing acquisition of knowledge combined with intelligence and instinct to help continue to formulate opinions, reactions, these kinds of things. I don\u2019t mean this to be critical of anybody who\u2019s young who\u2019s doing this. I\u2019m just telling you that I don\u2019t think I would have lived long enough as an adult and had acquired enough knowledge and understanding to be able to have done as thorough a breakdown of what was happening last week, as if that was happening 25 years ago. Forty is plenty old in terms of being able to have experience, but the more, the better.<\/p>\n

So a lot of what has formed my thinking and informed my thinking are things that happened long ago that made initial impressions that I then continued to check against succeeding events. So I formed opinions based on something I saw, makes me think about certain people certain ways and then I continue to live and things continue to happen, I balance that original opinion with ongoing events, okay, was I right or wrong back then? And so this is basically the definition of how I determine my own intellectual and emotional growth and understanding of things.<\/p>\n

So I was at a dinner party 20, 25 years ago. Let me get the years right here, because that seems like ages. It would have been the late nineties, early 2000s. And Wilbur Ross was at this party, long before anybody ever heard his name as secretary of commerce or anything of the sort. Now, I knew who he was, South Florida and all that, but I didn\u2019t know that my host knew him.<\/p>\n

\"\"So I casually mentioned to my host, \u201cWilbur Ross, what\u2019s he doing here? I didn\u2019t know you knew Wilbur.”<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got $800 million.\u201d<\/p>\n

I said, \u201cWhat, is he gonna give you some? Why is he here?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got $800 million.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou invited somebody \u2019cause he\u2019s got $800 million?\u201d or whatever the number was.<\/p>\n

\u201cHell, yes, I did.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, literally, why?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, man, I want to find out how he did it. Maybe if he invested in things, I\u2019m gonna invest in the same things.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo you\u2019re hoping Wilbur Ross is gonna give you some of his money one way or the other?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, yeah.\u201d Okay. That would never occur to me to invite somebody \u2019cause they had $800 million. And so that is what got me thinking there are people fascinated with rich people simply because they\u2019re rich. And it doesn\u2019t matter what else they are, they\u2019re still gonna be fascinated with them.<\/p>\n

Well, I am not fascinated with Bloomberg. I don\u2019t care how much money he has. When the guy thinks he can pass a law telling me how big my soft drink can be, I don\u2019t care how much money he\u2019s got. He\u2019s not fit to be a leader if he thinks that he\u2019s gonna be in charge of what I eat, what I drink, and how much of it I can eat and drink. And that\u2019s what he did as mayor of New York.<\/p>\n

Then I heard the guy say that the communist leader in China has to serve his constituents. And if he doesn\u2019t please his constituents, he\u2019s gonna be out. He\u2019s like any other political leader, he has to keep his people happy. He\u2019s not a dictator. He openly said he\u2019s not a dictator. This is Michael Bloomberg. Well, whatever he says is gonna be right because he\u2019s got billions of dollars?<\/p>\n

This was dangerously imperceptive or dumb, to say that the communist Chinese dictator is not a dictator. He doesn\u2019t have constituents. The communist Chinese population has nothing to say about who its leaders are. And yet here\u2019s Bloomberg talking about the leader of communist China as though he is a democratically elected official in the same way the president of the United States is.<\/p>\n

Now, I asked myself, does he really think that or is he just saying this to make the audience think that he has a devotion to democratic principles, he, Bloomberg. I couldn\u2019t figure it out. I couldn\u2019t come up with an answer that made sense, why Bloomberg would knowingly say something he doesn\u2019t believe to be true, or it seemed more to me that he really has a misunderstanding of the ChiComs.<\/p>\n

But either way, I don\u2019t think any of that matters anyway, he\u2019s not gonna be elected president for one very, very simple reason. It has nothing to do with what he thinks, it has nothing to do with what he said, it has nothing to do with how much money he\u2019s got. Well, I\u2019m not gonna tell you right now. I\u2019ll keep you on the hook for that \u2019cause I want to move on to other things here.<\/p>\n

(interruption) No, I\u2019m not making it up. I said, \u201cIs that Wilbur Ross?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t know you knew him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, what\u2019s he doing here?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got $800 million.\u201d You know, at that point I\u2019m thinking maybe I need to change the way — okay. Maybe I should start having parties and inviting people that have $800 million. Is that what I should do? I said, no way. Why do I want to invite somebody I don\u2019t know simply because of that?<\/p>\n
