RUSH: Another story that took place while I was absent playing golf, staying in touch with the common man as President Obama says is the reason he plays golf. Grab sound bite 28. We\u2019ll do it again. It\u2019s amazing. He was on the morning show, CBS yesterday, Harry Smith, tongue dragging on the floor (panting), ‘What does golf do for you, President Obama? <\/p>\n

OBAMA: It is the only time that for six hours, first of all, that I\u2019m outside.<\/p>\n

SMITH: Uh huh, uh huh. <\/p>\n

OBAMA: And second of all, where you almost feel normal in the sense that you\u2019re not in a bubble. There are a whole bunch of secret service guys, but they\u2019re sort of in the woods. <\/p>\n

SMITH: Uh huh. Uh huh. <\/p>\n

OBAMA: You know, when you\u2019re up there in the tee box —<\/p>\n

SMITH: Uh huh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: And you\u2019re hacking away, and hitting some terrible shot and your friends are laughing at you.<\/p>\n

SMITH: Uh huh.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: You know it feels as though you\u2019re out of the container.<\/p>\n

SMITH: Yeah. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah, yeah, look he went out on Father\u2019s Day. It\u2019s obvious he fails bails on the family, he\u2019s horrible at golf. He has admitted he\u2019s terrible at golf. Folks, I\u2019m going to tell you something. You\u2019re just going to have to trust me. If you\u2019re terrible at it, it\u2019s no fun. If you\u2019re terrible at golf, playing it for six hours is one of the most miserable things you can do. I don\u2019t feel like I\u2019m out of the container when I play golf. I really have never looked at it as, you know, related to the common man. I\u2019ve always gotten grief for being an elitist and playing golf. ‘Ah, keep playing golf, stick to the issues. People don\u2019t care about golf. Not enough people play it, Rush. You\u2019re showing how you\u2019ve lost touch.\u2019 Bush played golf, they ripped him a new one. When Obama plays golf, they let him get away with saying that\u2019s how he stays in touch with the common man. For me, playing golf is, hey, I have moments where I\u2019m good enough that I enjoy it. Number two, I don\u2019t think about anything else for the time I\u2019m out there. But, I\u2019ll tell you what, you can talk to people I play with when I\u2019m not doing well, I\u2019m mad. I am angry at myself. I\u2019m just saying if he\u2019s as bad as he says he is, it\u2019s no fun to be out there playing golf. <\/p>\n

Anyway, when I was out there playing golf I was still working, still doing show prep. And about this health care, do you remember hearing the news that the unions are going to be exempt from the Democrat health care tax? You hadn\u2019t heard this one? Oh, good. See, it\u2019s a good reason for me to come back. ‘The best chance for compromise legislation on health care may be a plan under construction in the Senate Finance Committee that would pay for a public plan in part by taxing some worker health benefits.\u2019 Your health package, your benefits package from your job would be counted as income and you\u2019d pay income tax on it. However, ‘But the union workers who helped Democrats win Congress and the White House and whose support will be key in getting a health bill signed into law would not pay the tax.<\/p>\n

‘With cost estimates already as high as $1.6 trillion, Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., has proposed paying for the bill in part by taxing health care benefits for workers who earn more than $100,000, or $200,000 for married couples, according to those familiar with the discussions. Baucus is also weighing a tax based on the value of health care benefits that exceed a yet-to-be determined cap. A tax on benefits that exceed the cap by a mere $3,000 could amount to $750 in taxes annually for a worker who earns as little as $34,000, say experts. But those union members serving under collective bargaining agreements would not be subjected to the tax,\u2019 and they\u2019re being blatantly open about this.<\/line> <\/line>Union workers would be exempt from the Democrat health care tax. So guess what that says to people? Hey, buddy, if you join our union, your health care won\u2019t be taxed like everybody else\u2019s. ‘Critics of the Baucus proposal to exempt unions from a health care benefits tax said the exclusion could be used to lure into unions employees who are anxious to avoid the benefits tax.\u2019 Yes, exactly right. So you continue to throw a bone to the unions of the workers\u2019 paradise. Remember I said earlier that Obama is right out of Das Kapital? Obama looks at profit as just surplus revenue that he can grab. The private sector is just an endless pile of money. He can go get it, use it for whatever he wants. I have also said that if you want to understand Obama\u2019s economic policy, understand just one thing, and that is he considers his mission to be to return the nation\u2019s wealth to its, quote, unquote, rightful owners. <\/line><\/p>\n

Now, if you\u2019re familiar with Marx and Das Kapital, the rightful owners of the nation\u2019s wealth are the poor and workers, the middle class who are exploited and used and taken advantage of and on whose backs other people get rich. Profit is considered evil. Profit is considered something that\u2019s unequal. It\u2019s unfair to have a profit and to make one. So let\u2019s now go to the audio sound bite, James Clyburn, ex-chairman of the black caucus. Chris Matthews said to him that health care is redistributing wealth, reparations for slavery. Matthews actually said in the question, ‘I think reparations make sense. I just wonder if we\u2019re ever going to figure out how to do it. Do you have a clear sense of what\u2019s appropriate? If you were the president right now, had the Congress 100% behind you, what would you do to make reparations for slavery?\u2019<\/p>\n

CLYBURN: What I would do is exactly what we\u2019re attempting to do with this legislation, energy legislation, health legislation, I would look at ways that we can programmatically and with new policy address these inequities and make concerted efforts to do things that will make up for them and eliminate the disparities. That\u2019s what I would do. We\u2019re talking about addressing inequities, disparities that exist in the health care in our communities. That\u2019s the kind of thing that we ought to be doing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There you have it. Matthews asks the question with the word ‘I think reparations make sense.\u2019 Reparations make sense. So here it is, right out of Das Kapital, Karl Marx. James Clyburn, well, we gotta look at what we can do to address these inequities and make concerted efforts to make up these disparities, eliminate \u2019em. Return the nation\u2019s wealth to its rightful owners. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
