RUSH: Julie in Hudson, Wisconsin, it\u2019s great to have you here on the EIB Network. Hello.CALLER: Hi. I am sitting here drinking — in my apartment with my cat, drinking — coffee and talking to you. It\u2019s an amazing thing and I thank you for even noticing. (chuckles) I wanted to say I saw your speech — CPAC. I didn\u2019t get to finish it because I was too busy, but it affected my heart. I didn\u2019t know that I knew these things, but I think that, like… Okay, I\u2019ll explain this. I didn\u2019t know that I could listen to someone who\u2019s famous for speaking for America and trying to save America and is as intelligent as you are famous and then when I heard him speak I could hear and understand every word, and I thought like I was at home. I felt like I had found a home. And so for that to be, it has to be that it\u2019s an innate — it is an innate — feeling to know that you are (garbled) at God and deserve freedom.RUSH: Well, no, I\u2019m not a god.CALLER: Oh, I didn\u2019t say that! (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, I think you\u2019re confusing me with Obama.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Evan Thomas at Newsweek said that Obama is sort of like God. I\u2019m a mere mortal.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know that you\u2019re mortal.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate what you\u2019re saying. So, it was the CPAC speech that you saw?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. And I didn\u2019t get to finish it, but you could see the kind of person you were. It\u2019s very clear, so it\u2019s hard. But I had to see the speech and hear the words — that form not your radio show. Because somehow — I don\u2019t know if it was the format or if it was just my limitations, which is likely, but — I understood who you were. I think there should be more speeches out there for regular people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you know, I don\u2019t care how you came to it, the fact is you came to it. The fact is you saw the light.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: The fact is that it all makes sense. You understand now. You are home. You have come home. I\u2019ll tell you what, that is a very nice compliment that you have given me, and I want to thank you. Did you hear what she said? She said when she listens to me she feels like she\u2019s at home. She\u2019s come home. She must have been wandering aimlessly out there in the desert for who knows how many years. Thanks very much, Julie. I appreciate it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s Linda in Duluth, Georgia, you\u2019re next on the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. This is Linda. First-time caller.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just got turned on to you about six years ago from my boyfriend. And I gotta tell you, I wish I knew about you a long time ago.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you do now, and that\u2019s what counts —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I sure do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — because it\u2019s the future that is the challenge now.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right. And I talked to Snerdley and he… I just want to tell you something. I listen to you every chance I get, and a day without you is a day without sunshine.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, a day without me is a day without home.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right. And that girl — that lady — was right. And what I\u2019m really upset about is, you know, I\u2019m sure you get this all the time, and I do listen to you. And you know, I think Obama\u2019s playing games with our country. I watch him. I hate listening to him now because he just upsets me so much, but he\u2019s playing games with our country, with our lives, and there are a lot of people out there who are afraid. They don\u2019t know what to do. And, you know, I get in trouble all the time, people say, ‘Well, those are your opinions.\u2019 Yes, they\u2019re my opinions. But if people don\u2019t start listening…<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, when somebody… Linda, now, when somebody says that to you from now on… I have run into people who say, ‘Well, that\u2019s your opinion,\u2019 as though just because you have an opinion it\u2019s not valid. Well, that\u2019s just your opinion. That\u2019s designed to shut you up. People who do not like the truth, Linda, consider the truth to be hate. The truth is ‘hate speech\u2019 to people who don\u2019t like it. The truth — if it challenges the little cocoon that they\u2019ve manufactured for themselves to live in and that cocoon, and their life is built on a bunch of falsehoods and lies and so forth — when you penetrate that with the truth, they get mad! You\u2019ve upset \u2019em and they don\u2019t want you to do that. So they\u2019re going to try to shut you up or say that what you\u2019re saying is insignificant because it\u2019s your opinion. ‘Who are you? Who are you to have an opinion? That\u2019s just your opinion!\u2019<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t let \u2019em shut you up like that. Your opinion is as valid as anybody else\u2019s is, especially if your opinion has the added weight of being right. And if you have been listening to this program for six years, I can guarantee that your opinions are correct. So you have nothing to feel defensive about. As far as Obama playing a game, I know what you\u2019re trying to say. But this is no game. This is a serious attempt at deconstructing this country as it was founded and putting it back together in a way that people will not recognize and will not be able to do anything about. It\u2019s not a game. It is dangerously serious what President Obama has in mind here. Pay caps all across industry. Nationalizing as much of the private sector as he can get away with. This is just beyond the pale what is being tried here. And there are so many people afraid to stand up. You mentioned it, too. People are afraid. They don\u2019t know what to do, they\u2019re afraid to say anything about it.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re afraid. We\u2019re approaching a period of time here where like people in the old Soviet Union — we\u2019re nowhere near that yet, folks — don\u2019t misunderstand, but in the old Soviet Union people had to retreat to their bathrooms to tell each other what they really thought about something for fear of being overhead by the state and being sent off to some reeducation camp to get their minds right. Now, we\u2019re not there yet, but we\u2019ve got a lot of people scared to death to oppose or speak out against Obama, for a whole host of reasons. They don\u2019t want to be called racist or they just don\u2019t like controversy or what have you. The problem with these people who don\u2019t know what to do is there\u2019s no elected Republican leadership right now that is giving them an opportunity to support and vent and have a release for some of the rage.<\/p>\n

They have to keep it all pent up; there\u2019s nothing they can do with it. Eventually some leader in the Republican Party is going to — it will happen. And we had this story yesterday in USA Today, ‘Well, who\u2019s the Republican leader? There is no Republican leader! There are just these bald white guys and 13% approval for Limbaugh.\u2019 Somebody name for me the Democrat leader six months into George Bush\u2019s first term. Who was the Democrat leader throughout the first term of Bush\u2019s presidency? Who was it? Can you name it? There wasn\u2019t one, was there? These people are running around like ants in an anthill trying to figure out what to do next. Who was the Democrat leader after the 2004 Bush victory? Who was it?<\/p>\n

There wasn\u2019t one. It\u2019s traditional. Parties that lose elections go through this massive reorganization, reformation, they go through all of this backbiting and eventually it ends, as you get close to the next election and they come up with somebody — and it was the same thing for the Democrats. But the media today, the State-Run Media is intent on keeping the Republican Party a minority party and a minority movement forever by continually disrespecting it. It\u2019s so obvious that it\u2019s what\u2019s happening. It\u2019s nothing unusual within the realm of politics for a party six months after losing an election not to have some leader. And that\u2019s not going to happen \u2019til there is a candidate, a presidential nominee. There might be somebody surface in 2010, who knows, but those are going to be congressional and Senate races. At any rate, thanks for the call, Linda.
